Elizabeth-Grace Summers (born July 2, 1992) is a American singer-songwriter from Tennessee. Born and raised in Brentwood, Tennessee to parents Patti and Gregory, her parents struggled to find work throughout Ellie‘s childhood, her father worked on a production line at a local warehouse briefly but lost his job due to the economic downfall in Brentwood at the time and the family struggled to provide for the following eight years. She has one younger brother and one younger sister, Chris (16) and Zoey (12), she is very close to her siblings and other family members.
A fairly quiet child, Ellie was often taunted for her shyness and she kept herself to herself during her school years, she wasn't what you’d describe as unpopular, she had a close group of friends which grew larger over time and by the time she reached High school she had fully developed into a well rounded student with many friends, hobbies and a positive academic future. She was also very keen on performing and found a love in music when her grandfather who used to tour in a local club band gave her an acoustic guitar and taught her how to play, this quickly developed into an obsession and Ellie set her sights on making a career out of music, she would spend the majority of her spare time writing and playing music on the same acoustic guitar her grandfather gave her which she still has to this very day but rarely uses that guitar, preferring to keep it for personal reasons.
She has performed regularly within her hometown of Brentwood, often performing at public events like the 4th July celebrations and various other public occasions.
She left High school at 18 and has spent the last year studying music at a local college, she is now planning on beginning her music career and is currently looking for a record label and beginning her music career. Her main influences include, Fleetwood Mac, Patti Smith, Belle & Sebastian, Alanis Morisette and her modern influences include, Nadia Berry, Brittany Knox, Michelle, Katie Coyle, Hannah Beth and Alicia Lena.
The year 2011 marked the year when Ellie released her debut single and album. It was on July 24th, 2011 when she released her debut single 'Paint Me a Picture' which featured Hayden Merjos. The single was critically-acclaimed and was a success - peaking in the top five in charts internationally. Later on in that year, she released her self-titled debut album 'Ellie-Grace' on September 25th, 2011. The album was met with rave reviews by critics and went on to peak at number two on the Heat Album Charts. Despite it's peak at number two, the album went on to achieve global success - selling over 5,000,000 certified copies worldwide and earned a diamond certification for such sales. Two more singles from the album titled 'I'd Wait Forever' (November 6th, 2011) and 'Silence is Deafening' (January 1st, 2012) were released from the album and both achieved the same success that her debut single had achieved. 'Silence is Deafening' was the last single that was released from Ellie's debut album and therefore ended the 'Ellie-Grace' era.
In February 2012, Ellie had begun work on her second studio album titled 'Too Far From Home', which was released on August 19th, 2012. The album was preceded with the lead single release 'Wishing You Would' (July 1st, 2012). The album failed to match the success of her self-titled debut album 'Ellie-Grace' but despite that, the album still managed to sell over 3 million copies worldwide - still proving to be success. The second and last single from the album was 'All The Beautiful Things' (September 30th, 2012), which featured Ryan Williams. The single proved to be a massive success and became Ellie's highest charting single to date - debuting and peaking at number one on the Top 20 Digital Songs Chart. During the end of September, 2012, Ellie began touring as a support act on her best friend Isabel's 'Dancing in the Dark Tour'. Following on from her supporting slot on Isabel's tour, Ellie-Grace co-headlined a joint world tour with British singer-songwriter Michelle. The tour supported Michelle's third studio album, "Live To Tell", and Ellie's sophomore effort "Too Far From Home". On the tour, Ellie-Grace also performed new songs which were intended for inclusion on her third studio album at the time.
After almost two whole years away from the industry, Ellie-Grace returned in August 2014 without warning and unleashed the brand new single "Tumble". The track was released to tide loyal fans over while she continued to work extensively on her third studio album.
