Behind the LensA Rosethorn Productions project Scott Rose-Hilton returns to the small screen in a brand new drama-sitcom about the unseen side of life in the music industry. Starring Rose-Hilton and co-produced by his wife Gia, the show is based on the collective experience of the two, who have spent years working with pop and rock stars at the very pinnacle of the music business. The show draws from their work at Chaos Records and Studio 60 respectively, and comprises an irreverent look at the way business is conducted 'Behind the Lens', showing the side of music that the fans don't see. 'Behind the Lens' is a fun, fast-paced and controversial comedy that takes viewers on a journey through the darker side of an industry that everyone loves. The show premieres in December 2014, with a season comprising six original episodes to be released through Rosethorn Productions.The PremiseScott Rose-Hilton plays Matthew Wallace, a PR guru at a fictional and unnamed record label with many years experience in the industry and a reputation that precedes him. He is the head of PR, overseeing a team tasked with making sure the reputation of young rock and pop stars is preserved in the eyes of the public. The main plot of the show revolves around two up and coming stars - one in pop and one in rock - who are looked after by two PR assistants each, who generally try to mop up after them and try to keep their indiscretions and bad behaviour under wraps. They deal with bloggers, paparazzi and journalists from day-to-day, but are also constantly looking over their shoulder for Matthew. While they are doing the best for the label, they still see the stars as human and people trying to build a career. Matthew on the other hand sees them as products, little more than a face to sell songs, and believes PR people and others behind the scenes are the real stars and the secret of success
He has a reputation as a bit of an angry bastard. He doesn't suffer fools gladly, and he has no time to waste in making sure the interests of the record label - which always comes first in his eyes - is not compromised. The show centres around his dealings with his four PR assistants, the two young starlets who he can't stand but has to promote, the journalists, paps and bloggers, as he swears, threatens and blackmails his way through the dark art of PR and spin in order to keep his acts and label favourable in the eyes of the public. Ultimately, Matthew has the power of life and death over the career of the two starlets at his label, with the ongoing theme centering around PR people being the most powerful in the industry, even more so than pop stars themselves.The CastOpen auditions are now in action for the majority of the roles below. Matthew is the head of PR at the record label. An angry, confrontational Scotsman, he is bloodthirsty and sees no hurdles to getting the job done. He is ruthless and will do anything to ensure success. Everyone from the PR assistants he works with to the young superstars, members of the press and bloggers are all terrified of him. He has a tendency to show up seemingly out of nowhere to start yelling at and insulting people, which gives him a reputation for being something of an evil presence in the music industry.
Colby Black

Male
Colby is an up and coming young pop-rock superstar with an attitude issue and a career that seems to have no limits. He thinks he's a bad ass and has no concept of right and wrong. Privileged and up his own ass, he is loved by girls the world over, and could really do with being brought down a peg or two. Matthew hates him and would see him never perform again if it wasn't for the fact he brings the label endless profits, which almost makes him an untouchable asset.
Eva Rose

A pop star with a huge career ahead of her, Eva is a sweetheart and a real trier, but she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, which really tests Matthew's patience. She thinks she knows more than she does, but she says and does stupid stuff that lands her reputation in trouble, leading to Matthew and the PR assistants having to sort a lot of things out to keep her looking like the squeaky clean and innocent star she is supposed to be. She is nit as indispensable as Colby, so the things she does often put her career under pressure.
Jen Tyme

Jen is a fashion and celebrity blogger who has a rather different view of the world from most others. She is the owner and editor of the biggest celebrity blog in the USA. She is strong willed and is the one person who is not afraid of Matthew. She has a real knack for finding out the big news on the celebrity scene, and she is constantly on the verge of breaking news that would see the two young stars' careers at risk. She and Matthew butt heads and are constantly at each other's throats, but both know that in many ways they need each other to survive in an industry where the press and PR have a rather fractured but essential relationship.

These parts are ready for open casting. The four PR assistants working under Matthew are the tireless workers who have to deal with the whims and nonsense of each of the pop superstars every day. They are browbeaten and downtrodden from above and below, and they have to swallow their pride and try to work their way to the top. Each has their own ambitions and characteristics (to be built around the cast members). They are presently a blank canvas, thanks to the wider age range and possibilities of the actors and actresses who could potentially be involved.
