SARA DANIELS' "BLAH BLAH BLAH" MUSIC VIDEO
The video opens on a fancy, low-lit restaurant. Sara Daniels and her date sit at a table in the middle. All around them, other couples are having dinner together. The camera starts from a wide ceiling shot, with Sara and her date in the middle of the screen, but quickly zooms into a curved shot, going from filming the top of their heads to filming them from the side, with Sara and date in the majority of the shot. Sara looks bored, picking at the vegetables on her plate, while her dates talks. The camera picks up the sound in the middle of their conversation.
"So then this stupid couple calls the police and tells them that I'm playing my guitar too loud, and they come to my father's vacation house and tell me to turn it down, and I'm like, 'Look, guys. I'm on vacation. I have a lot better things to do than pander to a couple of old, menopausal jerks that don't know good music when they hear it.'"
Sara glances up from her plate at him and sighs as he continues talking. Although the audience knows that the date is still speaking, his volume has been turned down considerably, and is now being mostly drowned out by the sound of dining around them. Sara looks around, and sees that many of the couples around her are having the same issue - one member of the date is talking too much while the other is bored out of their minds. She locks eyes with the man next to her, who has a very talkative girlfriend, and they both sigh. Sara nods towards her date, rolling her eyes. The guy laughs quietly, and makes a gun out of his fingers and pretends to shoot himself. They both laugh in a flirty kind of way, before Sara is interrupted by her date saying, "Tara? Tara? Are you even listening to me?"
Sara turns back to her date, originally looking embarrassed that she had been caught not paying attention, but then - realizing that she's been called by the wrong name - growing agitated. "What did you just call me...?" she asks in a soft voice.
"Good, you're listening. What I was saying, Tara, is that these policemen wouldn't..." As he starts to speak again, the instrumental beginnings to Blah Blah Blah start to play, drowning him out. Sara is officially pissed and she's not going to take it anymore. What? Sara stands up from her chair and glares down at her date. The date looks shocked, seemingly surprised that Sara was feeling angry in any way.You called me by the wrong name What? What? You think this is just some game The man that Sara had locked eyes with before looks over now, genuinely impressed by Sara standing up to her jerk of a date. Sara looms over her own date, who is looking more and more terrified the more angry Sara looks.See your mouth moving But you won't let me do the same Using her arm, Sara makes a quick motion over the table and knocks all the food, silver wear and glasses off the table and onto the floor. She climbs up on the table on her hands and knees and gets directly into the face of her date. In some ways, what Sara is doing could be considered sexy if she wasn't so terrifyingly angry looking as she did it - although that could be a turn on for some people, I don't know, I'm not here to judge.Just please stop talking I want to leave, and you're to blame (uh huh) Sara's face is close enough for her to kiss to easily kiss her date. She slowly moves her face to the side of his in a very sensual way, her lips right near his ear. The date looks confused, but like he's into it. The camera closes into a shot on Sara's lips right next to her date's ear. Her lips are slightly puckered in a sexy, pouting way. But in a quick moment, they change into a revengeful snear as she seems to shout the beginning of the chorus into his ear.But all you say is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah The date falls back in his chair from the shock of suddenly being yelled at directly into the ear. Sara moves her body to where she's sitting directly on the table, one foot resting on the overturned chair, in between her date's legs, while the other leg is crossed across the other at the knee. He looks up at her, terrified about what she might do next, but she just looks down at him triumphantly as she continues to sing.I couldn't give a fuck All I hear is just some sound Like you are everything I hate And I can't wait To end this damn date Sara hops off of the table, and does a circle around table, kicking the food that she had originally knocked on the floor out of her way as she sings the next part of the chorus. The bored members of the couples around her have noticed Sara standing up to her boring date, and they all look back at their own. The talkative dates continue to talk, not seeming to notice the scene that Sara is causing in the middle of the restaurant.Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, I just can't wait The table on the other side of Sara's is also a man and a woman on date - with another talkative man and a bored woman. The woman notices Sara's outburst, and decides to follow in her lead. This new woman now lip-syncs the words of the song rather than Sara was before. What Did you ask me out for (huh?) Sara stops her dancing around her table to notice what is going on with this other woman. Sara is excited and impressed by this woman's courage and she dances over to their table, adding in the "huh?" for this new woman. The woman continues to sing.I can't believe someone could be such a bore Sara leans in a comically adds:You're such a bore! Behind them, another date starts to stand up for themself - this time a man to a woman. Sara turns around and smiles, loving to see the revolt that she's just started. Now the man lip-synchs to his date. What now? I can't belive this is really how you behave I'm right here But you keep talking about you're driving me insane! *laughs* The camera focuses back on Sara, who is standing in the middle of the two tables, laughing, reveling in what she's just caused between couples. All three of the rebellious daters sing the chorus together now, with Sara slowly approaching her date again, who is now trying to pick himself up off the floor and get away. Sara stands in his way from exiting through the restaurant door - she's not done with him yet. As they sing, "blah, blah, blah, blah, blah," they do the talking motion with their hands and rolls their eyes in a condescending fashion, showing just how fed up they are with it.But all you say is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah I couldn't give a fuck All I hear is just some sound Like you are everything that I hate And I can't wait To end this damn date During the "ending this, ending this date," portion of the song this time, we see the second woman to stand up to her date climb up on her table and begin kicking the glasses and plates off of the table, almost an homage to what Sara did before to her own date. Around her, other members of dates are standing up on there tables in an 'O Captain, My Captain' fashion, declaring to their dates that it's over.Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date The camera focuses back on Sara, who pushes her date out of her way and walks back to where her new followers are. Her date takes this opportunity and runs out of the door, running down the streets of New York City, trying to get away from the crazy people in the restaurant. He doesn't have to go far before getting to Time Square. He stops to catch his breath, looking up at the billboards around him. One of them is a video billboard of Sara Daniels looking down at him with that same menacing stare she had before, singing directly to him from the advertisement. In the advertisement, she seems to be singing in a bright pink room, and is wearing different clothes than she was in the scene before. But all you say is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah I couldn't give a fuck All I hear is just some sound Like you are everything that I hate And I can't wait To end this damn date The date, scared shitless, runs from Time Square quickly, trying to avoid Sara Daniels' stare. The camera zooms in on the billboard now, turning the shot from a billboard into the next scene of the video. Sara is in that same all hot pink room, dancing and singing now directly to the camera. All your opinions? Keep them to yourself This date has effected my mental health Wouldn't it be easier to just stay single? Take the night off? You'd be alright if you would shut the hell up, back the fuck off We switch back to the restaurant scene, where Sara now sits on the table where her date used to be happening, looking around her at all of the people standing up to their boring couples. At every table, the same thing seems to be happening: One person is standing up, screaming and motioning wildly while the other sits back in their chair, too scared to move. All the tables around Sara are doing this, except for one - the table of the guy that she had locked eyes with before. He is looking around himself as well, but has yet to stand up to his talkative girlfriend, who still hasn't seemed to notice what is going on around her, and is still talking.Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah I couldn't give a fuck You tell me one more time about your car I swear, I'll bite your head off I know I'm sounding mean, but you're like no one else You have so much left to say, you can't keep it to yourself! (Ah!) Finally, the man at the table next to Sara's has had enough. He stands up and joins the rest of the restaurant in the second half of the chorus. His date, who is a stereotypical looking valley girl, starts crying and runs out of the restaurant. He gives a small smile to her leaving, and then looks to Sara, who gives him a thumbs up.Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date As the chorus repeats, the scene switches to people at home, turning on their TVs, and seeing Sara in that pink room, singing the song. Two people in particular seem especially 'moved' by what Sara is singing - one of them a woman alone at her house, watching the video, and the other one a man living with his girlfriend. The man who is living with his girlfriend watches the video for a couple of seconds and then glances at his girlfriend, who is eagerly chatting away with him - but more with herself - pulling things out of shopping bags and showing them to him, and seeming to endly talk about things that the man doesn't care about. The man tries to pretend like he's listening, but continues to occasionally glance back at the TV at Sara. The woman who is home alone watches a few seconds of the video as well, and has an epiphany. She picks up her cell phone and calls her boyfriend. The camera switches its focus to a guy playing Call of Duty and eating tequitos and drinking Monster Energy Drinks with his friends. Just a stereotypical douchebag. He pauses the game and picks up the phone, only to get an earful from his girlfriend as both she and the man living with his girlfriend sing with Sara:But all you say is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah I couldn't give a fuck All I hear is just some sound Like you are everything that I hate And I can't wait To end this damn date Throughout the ending of the song, flashes of different scenes happening throughout the video are shown: First, Sara Daniels standing in the middle of the restaurant, locking eyes with the man that was next to her again, both of them smiling at each other. Then to a shot of the girl on the phone with her douche boyfriend, with her yelling at him, and him looking confused. Then to the boyfriend and girlfriend living together, with the girlfriend sitting down on the couch, stunned by how her boyfriend is acting while the boyfriend dramatically flails his arms in a frustrated fashion and mouthed to her, 'You never stop talking, you just never stop, it's just blah blah blah all the time!' And then back to the restaurant, the camera focused more on the dates around the restaurant.Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, before it's too late Ending this, ending this date, and before it's too late Ending this, ending this date Finally, as if done with being yelled at, all of the scorned dates throw their napkins on the table and get up, walking away and exiting the restaurant. The rebellious members of the dates watch them with large grins. One by one, they each sit back down at their table and finish their meals alone, looking pleased with themselves. Sara and the man draw closer and closer together, smiling brightly. But all you say is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah I couldn't give a fuck All I hear is just some sound Like you are everything that I hate And I can't wait To end this damn date At the last beat of the song, both Sara and the new guy sit down together at a new table, smiling flirtatiously at each other. The scene cuts the black, the song now over.
The scene comes back up again showing the talkative date from the night before taking out the trash from his apartment. The guy in the apartment across from him is coming out as well and they nod towards each other.
"Hey, how did that date go last week? You think you're going to see her again?" The neighbor asks as they walk together down the stairs.
"Nah, man," the date responds, shaking his head. "That girl was a psycho bitch."
The neighbor gives an understanding laugh as they walk out of the camera frame, and it cuts to black again.
End video.
