Born and raised on the mean streets of Napal,FL, King Taz, AKA Austin Vartez, started his musical journey when he was 1994, when he was given a musical instrument by his Brother. It was at this moment that Austin Vartez knew he wanted to be part of 'The Scene'.
He first became interested in the Hip-Hop music scene in 1994.In 94, at the age of 14, his Mom and Dad bought him his first set of turntables. At the age of 17, he was already being touted as Napal,FL's answer to Ratpack (doing a live PA of Searching for my Rizla). He did various warm up sets before the doors opened in clubs hosting major names such as Ratpack (doing a live PA of Searching for my Rizla), DJ Storm, and many more. at 19, he achieved his big break when King Taz realised he was big in the game. It was after this point when he started getting gigs at big events such as New Fest and Park Jam.
After receiving several offers, King Taz joined Nada Recordings, who helped distribute his first internet release, 'Code' at the end of 2013.Though the single didn't sell as many as he probably would have liked, King Taz is a fighter and since 2013 has been locked in the studio perfecting his craft.
Suffice to say, the Hip-Hop scene should be expecting big things from King Taz in 2014.
