Not me. Back then I'd rather put on a good KISS, ASIA or JOURNEY record, mute the sound and enjoy the video, hargh hargh hargh.

Its not hating. Its saying my opinion on what its done to the music industry. It may have helped girls and teenagers something to like, but it has ruined the way the charts and the way the industry worked. You said your self its changed the way things work, and my opinion is that it wasnt for the better. |

If we're talking about real pop... yes, it is important. We had The Beach Boys in the early days, then we had The Smiths, the C86 movement, the first Elephant 6 bands (of Montreal, The Apples in Stereo, The Olivia Tremor Control...). And if we talk about pop art, yes, I enjoy Warhol's works a lot. But, yeah, pop is important. Thought rock has been always steps ahead from pop. (I mean, real rock. Not AC/DC, not Poison, not Aerosmith, not Nickelback, not all that shit.) Actually, the most important genre in the World at present is indie rock. |

All the bands that you mentioned except for Nikleback, are the ones I was talking about. Poison, maybe not so much as well. Here's a question, where do you classify Journey and REO Speedwagon? |

Ha, I was the contrary...I used to love N'Sync and hate Backstreet Boys. Today's pop is very bad in my opinion, with a lot of eletronic beats and rappers...I prefer 80's, 90's pop. |
I own:
Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic) Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird) |

You mean commercial Pop, theres people like Britney, Madonna, Kelly, PCD who have good pop songs. Remember pop changes every year. Right now everyones into electronic stuff. Thats why Lady Gaga has made such an impact in music.

Very true, pop is an ever-evolving pigeonhole. |

Britney, Madonna, Kelly (Clarkson?) and the Pussycat Dolls are commercial artists. I mean, I love Madonna (hate the others), but it's still commercial music. It's not that bad to listen to commercial music sometimes. |

PCD are commercially successful but some of their song wish weren't singlse had a lot of potential.
