Pre-tour Blog

So, we're almost at day one of the Out With The Old, In With The New tour! We've arrived in Glasgow the night before to make sure we're fresh ready for tomorrow with enough time to get one final practice done in the morning. It's going to be great to be out there back on stage in the UK to tour, last time we had done so was back in 2012 with Storm The Fort and Winterfell, which was a fantastic tour but we're hoping with the new setlist and new support acts that we can pull off our best headline tour yet! We feel we're in our element performing in intimate venues like the ones on this tour, rather than the big arena shows we encountered whilst supporting Isabel Merjos in the USA (Even though we loved that tour.) On topic of the tour with Isabel Merjos, it was with great delight that we got to announce that we would be bringing Pretty Little Freaks on tour with us, we enjoyed watching them during the shows in America and we're definitely looking forward to seeing them again on this tour. We also got our good friend Mercedes Payne on this tour, who has been a good friend of the band for some time now and it'll be great to spend time on the road hanging out with one of the band's favourite people and we will finally get our chance to see her perform!
We're so stoked to have once again sold out a headlining tour! We know these aren't the biggest venues in the world but it genuinely means a lot to us to know that we're filling these places with every opportunity so we can't wait to be going out on the road with you all! We'll be playing over half of the songs that will appear on our début full length album, The Difference Between Lying and Not Telling The Truth so it's going to be a brand new shiny set list and we're hoping you'll like all these songs we're going to début, it's going to be a strong indication on the direction we're taking TopLADs in the coming year.
So starting from Glasgow tomorrow and finishing in Bedford in just under a months time, we hope you have a good time at our shows! We've got some brilliant support acts and some cracking new songs so this should be a brand new experience and not just 'another TopLADs gig!' also be sure to buy the DVD when it comes out around Christmas time, we'll be filming the show at Bedford Esquires as it is the venue where it all started for us and it's a chance for us to honour that on the band's 4th birthday, with also the excuse to release a DVD!
See you this month at some point!

It was a Monday and the girls, Jade and Mia, were headed to Oxford for their next peformance. They had toured majority of the year and while it was fun, they both had separate plans when they got back home. Jade was wearing a light gray hoodie, staring out the window of their bus. Mia was mindlessly staring up at the ceiling. |

After TopLADs came off stage in Oxford, they headed to the dressing rooms before heading off to the tour buses ready to head off to Bristol. Chris stood outside the TopLADs bus on his own to smoke, he'd only recently been smoking but it had quickly become a habit to him. He was the only member in the band who actually smoked with the exception of Rory when he's drunk. Rory headed outside to sit with him, they both seemed drained from the performance earlier in the night.

Once the twins were finished unwinding after their performance, they had walked out to the bus where they saw Chris and Rory as they were heading inside. Mia paused and decided to talk to them.

Rory smiled and nodded as they had approached them. He and the band had got along well with the two girls from Isabel's tour in America. "Hey, thanks! As did the both of you, our fans are loving you!"

Rory laughed. "Well, I'm sure they're your fans as much as ours now so we can share the glory with those fans." He grinned. "Not as far as I know, we're heading off to Bristol in the morning so plenty of time until then!"
George comes off the tour bus and sees everyone outside, heading over to the boys. "Alright lads? That show was sick!" He noticed Jade in the corner of his eye and smiled at her. He grew quite fond of Jade during the tour with Isabel.

"Yeah. I just want some air and to get off the bus for a while. It gets very...condensed in there after a few hours." Mia looks over and sees George and remembers the small flirting he and her sister did prior to her being in a relationship. "So...what's been up with you guys? I haven't the time or interest to catch up on celebrity gossip."
Jade sees George and smiles. "Hi," she says softly. She was opposite of her sister espeially when it cane to personality. She was quieter and more reserved except when it came to performing and their music. For some reason, she was comfortable performing more than walking around the block. |

"Yeah I know how you feel, our bus gets really clammy and warm. It's horrible. We're not quite at the stage of having all these fancy tour buses just yet." Rory chuckled, seeing George approach Jade. "Well, on our side of all the gossip I don't really think we've been of much interest to anyone recently. This tour was mainly about reminding people we exist, it's been like two years since we'd released anything. Not sure what else has been going on recently, heard someone attacked Izzy though the other day."
"How have you been? It's been ages since we last spoke." George smiled and leant against the bus. He liked how quiet Jade was, it was a huge difference to his band mates who wouldn't ever give him any peace but around Jade everything was a lot calmer.

Mia laughs. "We've been on worse so, no conplaints here. Besides, we can rough it." She shook her head. "And nothing gossipy on our side. Except this rumor about me and my sister being all weird with each other. Totally untrue." She smirks a little. "Oh yeah, I heard about that. That's crazy. Fans are so weird sometimes. I know we have this website some guy made all about us, it's beyond creepy." She laughs.
Jade smiles at George. He was always so sweet to her. "Good, you?" Even though they never really got the time to date or anything, she was sure he was a great guy and boyfriend. |
