"Oh, right, the Fall Festival," Sam says back with a nod, moving away from the afternoon bar crowd to a spot near the back. "When is that again?" He runs his fingers through his hair and listens. He was a little anxious about the Fall Festival, knowing that he had promised Evalyn that he would come to the festival with her. He was now chalking that up to a horrible idea, but he couldn't back out. "Bored, huh? And what does a girl like you want to be doing instead?"

"I'm not forgetful. I'm just drunk most of the time," Sam says back with a laugh, leaning back in his seat. "Yeah, are we going to stay the entire three days?" He takes a sip of his beer and nods. "Well, I'm at the bar... if you want to come down here and hang out. I'm sure the guys here wouldn't mind you being around."

"Nah, sweetheart, I don't mind staying all three days. I was just wondering what your plan was," Sam says back and then nods. "Yep, same one as always."

"You talking to Evalyn? Is she coming?" the owner of the bar - and Sam's good friend - Joe asks.

"Yep. She's coming," Sam calls back and shakes his head. He turns back to the phone. "You have a crowd of people excited to see you here now, so you better get your butt down here quickly."

Sam chuckles when Evalyn asks if there's really a crowd forming for her. "What can I say, Evalyn? We don't get pretty girls like you around here very often." He laughs a little again. "Alright. I'll see you when you get here. Don't keep me waiting too long."

"Oh, what an original response," Sam says with a chuckle and a roll of the eyes when Evalyn says that she's not the pretty. "Just get down here." He hangs up the phone and waits for her. When she shows up, Sam stands up from his seat and waves back. "Hey there, sweetheart. Glad you could make it."

Sam leans in, giving Evalyn a quick hug before sitting back down, motioning for her to sit down across from him. "No, I suppose you'd be pretty stupid to pass up a chance to hang out with me," he says back with a wink, motioning to the bartender to grab Evalyn a beer as well.

Sam smiles back. It made him happy that Evalyn seemed to enjoy being around him as much as he enjoyed being around her. "Absolutely a good thing then," he says back with a wink before two beers are set down in front of the two of them. "So what did you want to do today, sweetheart?"

Sam laughs and shakes his head. "Darling, it's a big world, you're going to have to be a bit more specific than that on what you want to do." He glances over at the bar. "You hungry? I kind of am. The food here is alright. I mean, it's bar food, but it's still pretty good."

"Yeah? That sounds like an alright plan to me," Sam agrees, calling the waitress that he had earlier pissed off over with a smile. "Hey, darlin'. I'll have a cheeseburger with extra ketchup and fries, and then whatever this lady wants." He motions to Evalyn.

Sam nods at Evalyn's pick of food. "Good choice, good choice," he says jokingly as the waitress walks away, still in a pissy mood. "She's upset because I'm dating you and not her," Sam explains to Evalyn in a loud enough voice for the waitress to hear. He didn't care if people acted like assholes to him, but he always made sure that they knew that he thought they were being assholes. He laughs when the waitress shoots him another dirty look. "She's going to spit in our food, I can bet it..." He laughs.
