can people please stop putting massive pictures in their sigs... or for that matter four pictures in their sigs... as yourself.... does someone want to wait for ages for a page to load simply to see the same pictures at the end of a one line messege five times in one topic? |
I hate it when people see me at the supermarket and they are like: Hey, what are you doing here? and im just like: Oh you know, hunting elephants |

If its mine, I apologize, I'll make it smaller.

Im just sick now ofloading a picture and having to scroll down for ages simply because people want massive pictures in a sig that lets be honest... doesn;t really need them!!! one nice banner is enough in my opinion!!! |

Oh I know you are not. But let me just say many users especially those who have Pop artist like to have multiple banners for their artist. It's pop like and enjoyable to those who like pop, but I guess since it slows down the thread it isn't worth it. Is there a way that Carl could make the forums in a way that it could load up faster? Like reducing fancy design we don't need.

You could do what's been done before by Bik as well as others, and combine you banners into one. Thus bandwidth is not wasted on loading several jpegs when one compact jpeg or png could be used. |

I'm rather tired to precisely explain right now, but ask Bik when she's about. In short though, if you can make a banner with a general theme and fit artists in different fonts/colours/whatever on it, mission accomplished. |

I'm about .... any image program can do this - though I do not recommend Paint for resizing, if you've got nowt better use Photobucket's resize tool. So what I do is - 1. If the pictures are different sizes, resize them to the same height (if you're putting the pic next to it - best for signatures) or width (if you're putting the pic underneath it). 2. Open one of the pictures in your image program, and change the image size to double the height or width, giving you a big white space. 3. Open the other picture, and copy and paste the new picture in the white space next to or underneath the other one. 4. Save your file under another name, and upload it to Photobucket, Imageshack, whatever you use. And you're done!
I don't actually mind multiple pics if they're all on one line (or two if there's enough width to make a bottom scrollbar) and not that big heightwise, you don't have to wait for them to load and can just scroll past them - but if they take up half the page and leave a big blank space, THAT'S what's annoying. |

Not sure if mine are too big, but I know they're fairly small in file size, because I've used PNGs with limited colour profiles for all of them. I've been meaning to re-do them a bit, but haven't had the time. |

Gildy's sig doesn't bother me. I hope mine isn't too large, though. |
