Okay, so my CD burner is being a bitch. I have tried every single CD burning program, and they always come up with a write error. I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix this, if someone can, cookiez will be given. |

What exactly does the write error message say? |

Try updating the Firmware.
I tried it on my old computer (the same error was happening) and it worked for a while. It eventually broke though. |

Yes, firmware update is the way to go, if you can even find firmware for the drive (which is often extremely difficult). You need the full name of the drive from the windows device manager, then you need to find the firmware somewhere on the internet, then you need to install it and hope that the install doesn't crash midway through (rendering your drive inoperable) and then once the update has finished, it may or may not have the desired effect.
I'm not sure why drives do this, but they periodically seem to stop writing to disc for no good reason. I've had it happen with both my laptops, and updated firmware fixed them both. |

Is it partially writing and then the error appears, or is it stopping before it even gets to the actual writing? If it's the first it could be the disc, if it's the second, it's the drive. |
