Their fathers worked together, both of them co-owners of a used bookstore in a small corner of Dijon, Bourgogne, France. Being seven years apart, yet spending most of their time outside of school together, Adele and Destinee knew each other as sisters from the beginning. Both of them had a dream of moving to America and starting a music career. Their fathers both encouraged them, and eventually paid for both of them to travel overseas once Adele was old enough. MEET THE FILLES: DESTINEE NAME: Destinee Girard AGE: 24 Destinee is romantic girl, always dreaming about princesses and unicorns and child-like things. She's very naive and insecure about her body, always wondering what other people are thinking about her. Growing up, she was a constant source of bullying by girls at her school, which caused her to retreat into her own head and spend more time daydreaming than actually doing anything in the real world. There is a rumor that she left a husband back in Dijon when she left, but that has not been confirmed or disproved. ADELE NAME: Adele Gillet AGE: 18 Adele has looked older than she really is for all of her life. Right from the beginning, older men were hitting on her. When Adele was 16, she became pregnant and had a daughted named Helena. Helena remains in France with Adele's mother and father, who have stopped speaking to her since she left for America. Adele has made it pretty obvious that her plans for the music industry is to A.) become famous, and B.) score. A lot. She's a bright-eyed girl, but very mischievious and cunning, and she knows how to get what she wants: With her looks. Live from our house in Paris! Don't look too closely, we haven't cleaned the living room in a while. Yeah, guess whose job it is to clean the living room? (points to Adele, who is oblivious) Anyway, we just wanted to thank all our fans for all the support that they've been giving us for the past couple of weeks! Right! "Lying Awake" charted in the Top 20! And "Dressed and Buttoned Up" was #1 the first week, and is still in the top 5 this week! Oh my god, I still can't believe that we had a number one! She cried when I told her. Like an absolute child. It was ridiculous. We had to call her boyfriend to get her to stop. Anyway! We've decided to give our fans one more surprise before we release our second album, "Mourning Eyes." Yes, but what this song is going to be is a secret! It's a cover! Of one of our favorite songs of all time! And just in time for Adele's nineteenth birthday, which is in six days! Oh yeah! I'm during nineteen in six days! So just be prepared, D&A fans! Either today or tomorrow, we will be releasing our new secret cover single! And then I'll turn nineteen! Right. So be keeping your eyes peeled, and we'll keep you posted on our website!
