I'm not bothered to be fair, music videos have always seemed rather pointless to me.

Yeah I wonder why wouldn't an artist make a music video if there is youtube and channels such as MTV, MTV 2, MTVtr3s, VH1, BET and other channels that show music videos to help promote.

Music videos can be a fantastic medium of art AJ.

Of course usually they aren't but they can be. As it is they are a reasonably effective promotional tool for singles.

So my comments. Didn't Gnarls Barkley's breakthrough occur in 2006 with Crazy? I mean come on, that's just being stupid.

As for 'Best Video (That Should Have Won a Moonman)', I have no fucking idea what a Moonman is. But the Human Behaviour video is really quite interesting, and the song is fucking brilliant. Sabotage video is pretty amusing video throwback to 70s cop shows while the song is good. Karma Police is a great song but the video? Eh. If you need to nominate a Radiohead video then while Just isn't a good song the video is pretty neat I think.

And Where The Streets Have No Name? Nah.

Well okay but music videos have become pointless with all the trash thats out there. Now if your a girl its about flash a bit of boob and you'll be nominated and if your a rock band film yourself on the top of a building/in a desert/on a road and bobs your uncle you've got a hit.

Best Special Effects in a Video
Beyoncé — "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (Special Effects: VFX Effects and Louis Mackall V)
Eminem — "We Made You" (Special Effects: Ingenuity Engine)
Gnarls Barkley — "Who's Gonna Save My Soul" (Special Effects: Gradient Effects and Image Metrics)
Lady Gaga — "Paparazzi" (Special Effects: Chimney Pot)
Kanye West (featuring Mr Hudson) — "Paranoid" (Special Effects: Wizardflex)

Lady Gaga — "Paparazzi" (Art Director: Jason Hamilton)
Britney Spears — "Circus" (Art Directors: Laura Fox and Charles Varga)

In those two categories, I'd switch Gaga - Paparazzi and Britney - Circus with each other. Then put them in bold. Circus was better special effects, Paparazzi was more creative.

Depends what you like in video really. I think that artistically the Just video is pretty interesting really. Certainly more so than Shakira shaking her arse inside a cage or whatever.

The only category I care about is best rock video but whatever I'll give it a shoot. I'll bold who I wish will win and I'll italic the one's who will win .

Best Male Video
Eminem — "We Made You"
Jay-Z — "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)"

Kelly Clarkson — "My Life Would Suck Without You"
Lady Gaga — "Poker Face" -- once again it's Beyonce or Gaga.
Katy Perry — "Hot N Cold"

Drake — "Best I Ever Had"
Kid Cudi — "Day 'n' Nite" -- only artist in this list that I actually like.
Lady Gaga — "Poker Face" -- but sadly no one has a chance again.
Asher Roth — "I Love College"

Best Pop Video
Beyoncé — "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)"
Cobra Starship (featuring Leighton Meester) — "Good Girls Go Bad" -- eh, don't like the song but the video is alright. what you expect from a Pop video.
Lady Gaga — "Poker Face"
Britney Spears — "Womanizer"
Wisin & Yandel — "Abusadora"

Best Rock Video
Coldplay — "Viva la Vida"
Fall Out Boy — "I Don't Care" -- I'm a FOB fanboy, so yeah....
Green Day — "21 Guns"
Kings of Leon — "Use Somebody" -- Probably one of my favorite songs of the year, as for the video it could have been better.
Paramore — "Decode" -- this will win for sure, I love Paramore but I wish they would win without having all the Twilight addicts voting for them.

Best Hip-Hop Video
Eminem — "We Made You" -- Eminem will win at least one for sure, MTV loves Eminem. No one say this is complete Fan votes everyone knows MTV tweaks them a bit.
Flo Rida (featuring Kesha) — "Right Round"
Jay-Z — "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)"
Asher Roth — "I Love College"
Kanye West — "Love Lockdown"

Breakthrough Video
Anjulie — "Boom"
Bat for Lashes — "Daniel"

The only Death Cab For Cutie that is deserving of mainstream attention is the song that the band took their name from, by The Bonzo Dog DooDah Band.

And is no one able to describe what exactly "Breakthrough" means and how exactly Gnarls Barkley are eligible?
