Ladies and gentlemen my next is a Grammy award winning singing and world renowned entertainer. She has sold over 150 million albums worldwide. And her latest record, 25, has officially sold three million copies this week. Please welcome the beautiful, the luminous Tisha Jackson everybody!
[The Roots, plays a soulful instrumental rendition of Jackson’s hit song, ‘Rehab’]
Tisha Jackson struts into the studio urgently. She smiles at the audience waving both her hands strain in the air. Jackson is dressed in a white Versace pearl dress. The dress is synched to her waist and exposes her from her upper thigh all the way down. Jimmy stands up from his seat clapping. Tisha opens her arms out as she is approaching the stage. She meets Jimmy and he gives her a kiss on the cheek and she in return gives him one back.
The audience is still clapping very loudly for Tisha. All you can hear are the sounds of hands hitting each other, yells like, “Wheeewww”, and sweetness like, “We love you Tisha”, Tisha sits down and then Jimmy follows. Tisha smiles at Jimmy as the audience continues to clap. She then smiles at the audience waving girly and playfully telling them, “Thank you”. She then smiles at Jimmy saying, “You have the greatest audience. So much love.”
Jimmy jokes, “Mmmm there arlight”, the audience laughs as well as Tisha. Tisha then looks at the audience pointing her index finger at Jimmy with one hand and giving him a thumbs down with another. “I’m just kidding you guys are awesome”. Jimmy and Tisha clap for the audience. Jimmy jumps into the interview.
Jimmy: How have you been? It’s been forever since I’ve last seen you.
Tisha: I’ve been well. I mean just got out of jail a couple of months ago, but other than that… [Tisha says playfully sarcastic]
[The audience begins to rumble with laughter]
[Jimmy tries to control his laughter but burst into laughter seeing Tisha is making light of the situation]
Jimmy: Well how’d that go for ya…?
Tisha: Ummm, it was pretty great. We had the best food. Like, I’m talking five star dining. The women were so nice to me. We did each other’s hair, none of them threatened me, and I wasn’t harassed… [Tisha gives the audience an even more wittingly sarcastic grin and they laugh even harder]
Jimmy: Alright enough about the jail stuff... [Jimmy laughs]
Tisha: Are you sure? I can tell you more fun stories… I’m kidding. But I am doing really great to answer your question. It’s great to be here with you, great to see you.
Jimmy: Yeah, I don’t remember the last time. Had to be like two years ago, right?
Tisha: Yes I could never forget. Ummm it was two years ago and I was promoting my previous album, ‘The Highway to Redemption’ and I sang in -1 degree weather for you in damn Times Square.
Jimmy: And I gave you my coat! I remember! That was a while back.
Tisha: How are you though?
Jimmy: I’m good.
Tisha: Congratulations on the show, I am happy for you.
Jimmy: Thank you so much!
[The audience claps for Jimmy]
Jimmy: Your hair is a bit different since last time I saw you.
Tisha: Yes I am back to blonde cause I was born this way.
Jimmy: Are you a natural blonde?
Tisha: Sure am. That explains all my choices in men.
[The audience laughs at Tisha]
Jimmy: You seem to have gotten things in order. Is Drew not treating you well?
Tisha: Oh, let’s clarify that please! Previous relationships I was mentioning.
Jimmy: Drew is a good guy.
Tisha: Yes, he’s the man in my life. He’s my angel.
Jimmy: You just announced your tour a month ago, will he be coming along?
[The audience cheers with news of Tisha’s new stadium tour being mentioned]
Tisha: Hopefully he’ll come out some dates to see me. But Drew is a VERY busy man, he’s working on his debut album and his focus is really on that right now. [Tisha smiles gushing about her man]
Jimmy: So last month it was crazy, tickets went on sale for your ‘She’s Got Heart’ world tour and sold out in forty five seconds. Can we talk about that?
Tisha: I had heard that. In all honesty I really have the best fans in the world. [Tisha smiles at the audience]
[The audience applauds loudly for Tisha]
Jimmy: This is your biggest world tour yet, don’t see how you do it, you’re doing over a hundred cities right?
Tisha: Yes. I think we’re doing one hundred and twenty dates. And we’re going everywhere. We kick off in Europe in London. I am really excited about that because usually for some reason all my tours kick off here in the states but this will be my first tour kicking off overseas so I am happy about that.
Jimmy: You are the greatest entertainer of our generation in my opinion.
[Audience cheers, a man yells “Hell yeah Jimmy”! Tisha giggles, loudly and girly at him waving]
Tisha: Aww, he’s so cute.
Jimmy: How do you prepare for a tour this big, because it is a stadium tour and we know you are going to utilize the stage?
Tisha: Oh, that takes time. That takes a while. We usually, or I rather usually start up with creating the set list, choosing which songs I want to perform. And then that’s when we meet with the band to come up with arrangements and that takes about a month alone. Next is the dancers, I usually keep the same team with me, so my band, my back-up singers and dancers have been with me for five years, however if a dancer has a prior gig then we usually organize auditions. Then there choreography and we mix that in with the arrangements and we have a show. It’s not that difficult. [Tisha shrugs her shoulders sarcastically]
[The audience and Jimmy laughs]
Jimmy: You’re going to sing for us tonight, right?
[The audience cheers]
Tisha: I sure as hell am!
[The audience roars]
Jimmy: What will you be singing?
Tisha: I will be singing the third single off the new album, 25, titled, ‘ferriswheel’.
Jimmy: Cool beans. But before you do I want to play a game with you call “Who would you rather”?
Tisha: [Jokingly bites her finger nails] This isn't going to be something like who would you rather sleep with or anything is it now?
[The audience laughs as well as Jimmy]
Jimmy: Hehe, no way. It’s simply, I give you two people, and you tell me your thoughts on each and who would you rather have a duet with.
Tisha: [Laughs] Okay sounds good!
WHO WOULD YOU RATHER? [DUET EDITION]
Jimmy: Okay, starting off, Magie Lena or Rum? [photo of the two show up on a background screen]
Tisha: Oh Jimmy, I am going to kill you that is a hard one. I don’t know which one to choose they are both extraordinaire and geniuses. I’ve worked with both these ladies, but the chemistry that Rum and I have is unparalleled. Have to go with Rum. But Magie and I will do something again.
Jimmy: Our next one is… [A photo of Isabel and Andrea] Isabel or Andrea…
Tisha: [Giggles loudly and uncontrollably]
[The audience begins to laugh at Tisha’s shade]
Jimmy: [Now laughing with Tisha] What wrong?
Tisha: Uhh nothing. This is a VERY easy one Jimmy.
Jimmy: Why is it easy? Which one would you rather duet with?
Tisha: I like artist who aren't gimmicky, and can actually sing. And if I am doing a song with another female I don’t want her sounding like a dying cat. So it’s a very easy choice, I’ll duet with Andrea.
[The audience gasps loudly and laughs at Tisha with Jimmy joining them]
Jimmy: Ooooh, that burns.
Tisha: Well it’s the truth Jimmy, you were thinking it.
[Jimmy laughs]
Jimmy: Moving right along, [photo of the group SYNCO and Cassie Valentine appears on screen]. The pop band SYNCO or Cassie Valentine.
Tisha: Well I’ve worked with Cassie before but not on a duet. I wrote and produced a song for her, titled, "Down". However, I love SYNCO to death. But I would choose Cassie, I would duet with her and produce some material for SYNCO definitely. Cassie has one of the greatest voices in the industry as of late and she can sang her face off.
Jimmy: And for out last one, we’ve got a good one. Which one would you prefer…
[The audience laughs as a photo of Drew Westbrook and Dominic Brown come up on screen]
Tisha: [Laughs loudly] Oh God! Jimmy I’m going to get you. I’d rather work with Drew any day. He’s more talented. He’s my man crush everything!
Jimmy: [Laughs at Tisha] Thank you for playing. Please don’t go anywhere. Ms. Jackson is performing her single ‘ferrishwheel’ live for the first time on television next!
[Tisha laughs at Jimmy and says “You’re bad” as the camera exits up.
