Old news. This isn't going to happen all three countries have new presidents/prime minister, I mean not just because those former leaders agreed to something means it will happen. I hate when people blame everything on a president, things don't work that way in the US, everything and I mean EVERYTHING the president purposes to do has to go through congress now that we have a democrat president and the democrats are the majority group in congress this isn't happening. Didn't happen before sure as hell won't happen now, US and Canada never should/never will pay to fix all of Mexico's problems.

So there's a group of people talking about co-operation between governments on the same continent. I don't see why this necessarily implies the dreaded North American Union. Seems like a) scaremongering b) something that warrants further investigation. What concerns me though is how this is actually a news story. American news media's propensity to make stories out of barely half-confirmed rumours never ceases to amaze me.

That's were you are wrong buddy, not everything the president does goes trough congress. The president can be very sneaky and my college professor was discussing about this and the reason I'm blaming the president is because he kept this hidden from us, he said he never signed it, so he lied to us.

This is old news but it isn't old as in it will never happen, this most likely could happen.

What do you think is going to happen when the US crashes and hits rock bottom as in everyone is screwed, this most likely would happen as a way out for the US which I find despicable.

Sure it's terrible that you aren't informed about every decision the President makes, but that doesn't mean every decision he makes without informing the public is necessarily evil. What it does is illustrate the great fallacy of democracy.

But yeah, if this kind of thing offends you, then it's your right to bring it to your representative's attention.

The thing I am now working really hard to get my stuff together and stuff like this can get in the way of it and by him not telling us and lying he has kinda put my future in more danger than it is at the moment. Bush is really hated by almost 100% of Americans so stuff like this pisses us off and we see it as evil.

The status of a country is not dependent on it's debt.. I'm sure England has a large national debt as well.

Pahaa, yeah, we can't stop borrowing money at the moment. If you want to move anywhere Switzerland's the shit. :P

Plus I don't see why this NAU would be so bad? Surely it just means poverty in Mexico will be eradicated? Possibly now's not the time to do it, but when the worlds economies back to normal I can only see it as a good thing. Why do Americans constantly complain about Mexican Illegals when there not prepared to help them out in their own country?

I'm all in favour of internationalism. Fuck nationalism. Nationalism is vile & hateful and only leads to fucking war, and stupid cunts being resentful over the most inane & irrelevant bullshit: your place of birth.

Continental unions have advantages and disadvantage. Of course in a capitalist system the disadvantages are pretty big and you end up with something like the EU. But for socialism/communism/anarchism to actually work you would either need a remarkably tolerant liberalism (which is so unlikely, the problem with democrats (small D, not the political party but people who believe in the current system of representative democracy) is that they are all convinced that it's the best way, the only way, and everyone should do it their own way. Of course, Plato argued that the problem with a republic is that it's the tyranny of the masses, following the whims of public opinion. Whoopee) or else the whole world would need to embrace the glory of equality.

And Steph, the United Kingdom has the European Union which is far more monolithic & beaurucratic than any potential marriage between a mere 3 nation states.

How?

I dont think this happens but this PAN's (the party in power now) wet dream. Currency union will help, but Mexico will end up being a puppet of the US (if we arent already, it would get worse anyway)
