In terms of headlines, 2015 has since become a quiet storm. Aside from a few memorable headlines, the year has since slowed down as we enter the second quarter of the year. One thing tat 2015 has offered us is plenty of new acts. It seems as if this year has given many new artists a foundation to launch their music and brand and they haven't been shy either. There are plenty of new acts that have premiered in the new year each offering different types of music and personalities as the headlines are rested for quite a bit really giving new acts the chance not to fall on death ears, and they have certainly taken advantage. One of the new acts that is getting to make a mark this year is 21 year old Erik Zullo. The 21 year old Miami born artist was first discovered after trying out for Starfactory and making it on the become one of the finalists. From the very first week, Erik Zullo was stealing hearts. Following Indie week and after two weeks, during a oft-delay of the show, Erik left Starfactory and stated that he was unhappy with the shows scheduling and other reasons he didn't speak of. Shortly after Erik Zullo posted his official website and promised that new music would be on the way. Of course, the fans that Erik did garner oozed in excitement as Erik Zullo exuded nothing but star quality when he hit the stage during his Starfactory day. Erik confirmed that he would be entering the studio and that new music would be out soon and it seemed as if the Palestinian/Italian wasn't going to come out with any new music any time soon.

Months later, Erik appeared via twitter to announce that his single would be out in April. Fortunately, Erik wasn't yet forgotten and it seemed as if his supporters were still right by his side, making him a trending topic, with the excitement spewing over from twitter to popular social networking site tumblr. Erik then began getting alot more active, regular posting updates via his website on his progression in the studio and most recently posting a "Getting To Know Erik" trivia on his site so his fans and soon to be fans would get a better idea of the star as Starfactory didn't exactly dig deep into who the contestants actually were, and now that SF is long gone, Erik is still a brand new artist just like any new act trying to pick up steam in the ever competitive music industry where it's very easy to fall into obscurity and go completely forgotten. When April came around, Erik then created a twitter campaign helmed by him as his picked up excitement for this upcoming single. The way he did this was by hashtagging the number of days leading up to the single's release. On April 20th, Erik Zullo posted on twitter #1DayLeftToGo, meaning that the single would be out in one day. Still, there was no official announcement of what the single's artwork looked like, what the song sounds like or anything other information pertaining to the record, there was none, until today of course.

"Run" is the debut single by recording artist and songwriter Erik Zullo taken from Erik Zullo's upcoming debut album which is set to be released sometime in 2015. The record was produced by Ali Payami and popular record producer Shellback and was written by Zullo, Payami and Justin Rogers. The song was recording in January of 2015 and will be released to Digital and Airplay outlets on April 26th, 2015 and will be available for streaming on April 21st, 2015. The record itself is an interesting one, in the song, Erik is singing about a girl who is a rolling stone, one that no one can tame as she lives life as a rolling stone and uncontrollably and the reason why she does this is because she hasn't found anyone. In the song, Erik really shines vocally over the pulsating and infectious beats. The song starts off with tranquil acoustic guitars, seconds pass and Erik breaks out singing quite somber about a girl. The guitars are very sweet and majestic, going along well with Erik's captivating vocals as he uses metaphors to describe this firecracker of a woman. The guitar chords continue onto Erik gets to the pre hook, where they stop, and he hauntingly sings the two lines of the pre hook, and his vocals echo out into a pulsating and infectious chorus that can easily get stuck in your head as Erik belts out about this glamazon lady that seems to be getting caught in his head and does it in the perfect way as the chorus is addictive and catchy. There's a whistle line acting as a hook behind Erik as he sings which you won't be able to get out of your mind which is in contrast to the dark moody sound and tone that the track portrays but in no way does it leave you feeling hollow. The track continues to have this same attitude, as the catchy beats and pulsating bassline of the chorus takes you to another place as Erik tells the story of this woman. The bridge is another standout part of the track, as the beats fade away, with synths fluttering about and Erik belting out some more lines about the woman and finally explaining that he's going to give her a try and then the song breaks into the pre hook and chorus once more before breaking in the chorus once more as the song rides out. "Run" gives us the best of both worlds, a ever so catchy chorus, under to understand lyrics and a performance worth noting for.


Wow! I really cannot believe we are already here. My debut freaking single. It's pretty crazy. First I want to really thank Shellback and Ali for putting together such an amazing track with me. I'm really so proud of the way it turned out, really something special. With Run, I wanted to write something that people never really heard before lyrically and I thought if I wrote a track about a girl is untameable, would be pretty cool. There's usually songs bout heartbreak and falling for a girl, but why not tell a story about a girl who cannot be tamed and is dangerous in her own sense. I really think as guys, we've all come across that girl that seems like she's just untouchable and unstoppable and that we wouldn't stand a chance and that's where Run derived for me and why I wrote the track. I also feel like this track will make the girls feel confident and make them want to dance, and that's always great you know? There's a balance here between lyrics and catchiness that you can simply get lost in when you hear it. I wanted by debut single to be something that people remember and could enjoy as well as have a good time with. It starts off slow and just catches you off guard and I wanted that, so yes, here it is ..my debut single. Enjoy it everybody!!
