7/25/15 The performance starts off with the intro playing, the beginning of the song with it's hip hop influenced drum pattern. Hannah looks great, she's glowing and feeling on top of the world right now. There's nothing glamorous about her performance either, just her with a live band and her sleek all black outfit. Since she cut her hair short and dyed it blonde, there was this sudden aura of confidence beaming from her which was very noticeable. She starts to sing the first few lines of the song, swaying from side to side as she's getting into the beat. It was an infectious song so it wasn't a surprise that even Hannah couldn't stop from dancing to it herself.
Who, who-o-o
[Verse 1] I’ve never been that good at being subtle But I never could let you pass me by Some people say I’m like a puzzle But you’re the only piece that fit me right
Somehow, someway you have managed to do the unthinkable (That’s make me fall so hard in love) Had to do some breaking, rearranging, now I am all yours Woah, woah, woah, so
When she gets into the chorus, her voice goes from low and soft to an ascending high soprano voice when singing the 'me' part. Hannah was always a very talented vocal performer and even live she managed to be in a category on her own even if her performances were often referred to as 'boring.' She prided herself on live and raw vocals. She goes into the second verse, this time her voice shifting a key a she manages to make the song pop a little. She looks behind her shoulder, at one of the guys playing guitar and gives them a little wink, as she kept on singing the song. She had added her own twist to the song, deviating from the usual version. It was the first performance of the song live so she wanted to leave a good impression.
[Chorus] Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me?
[Verse 2] I was never that good at being seductive Always felt like I was being a fool, oh, oh, yeah But now I play it off like it’s nothing You’re the only one who makes me lose my cool, ohh
Somehow, someway you have managed to do the unthinkable (That’s make me fall so hard in love) Had to do some breaking, rearranging, now I am all yours Woah, woah, woah, so
[Chorus] Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me?
She continues what she was doing in the chorus, dancing a little as she hinted at her about to do something big, the way she focused on the microphone then slowly looked up at the camera. She came to the bridge, which was the most vocally challenging part of the song. It was almost in the form of her preparing for the impressive vocals she was about to pull off, as she started it off normally as the pre-chorus, and then her voice gradually got higher. It was one of the most flawless and impressive vocal runs she had attempted. Without missing a key, she belted it out as she smirked afterwards, almost impressed with her own voice.
[Bridge] How dare we try to throw away the cards we’re dealt? You’d better play your hand Don’t let me be the last to know how you really, truly feel Feel, ohhh Oh-h-h-h-h-h, hey
Hey, I’ve never been that good at being subtle Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Who do you, who do you, who do you think you are?
Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me? Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me?
Who do you think you are? Who do you think you are making me feel? Who do you think you are? Who do you think are feeling this way for me?
The band kicks back in as she goes to finish the song with a run through of the chorus, ad-libbing to her heart's content, and then wrapping up the last run of the chorus before the audience applauds her and she gives them a soft, "Thank you."

Hannah's second performance of the night was of her second single from 'Evangelion.' It was also the first time she performed the track live and it was another vocally challenging track. This time, she had to compose herself as the song wasn't as carefree and happy as the last one. She had a more serious look on her face as she started singing. She went headfirst into the song, her soft and natural vocals becoming a sweet and tingling sensation to the audience's ears. The violins were being played, giving that eerie and dwindling sound as Hannah kept going back and forth with the tone of her voice.
[Verse 1] Remember when we first talked and went to war Then we raised our flags to understand After all we weren’t that much different Now I don’t want to live in a world apart Or think about you walking out Even though I know our hearts were conflicted
I say I’m sorry, say I’m sorry all the time So much the word starts to lose its meaning I say I’m sorry, say I’m sorry all the time Incapable of showing how much you mean
Going into the chorus, Hannah delivers a thunderous first try of it as she is making her heartfelt plea from the songs lyrics. At the same time, she cautiously doesn't scream or yell over the instruments but more singing louder so that she could be heard, still in key. The backup singers were carrying her ad-libs as she delivers the main vocals. She goes into the second verse of the song, delivering it the same as the first but this time with a little more power. There were bright lights behind her and they seemed to flash brightest whenever she made those high notes. She looks right at the audience as she sings now a sort of sadness in her eyes.
[Chorus] Don’t give up on me right now There’s still so much joy left to be found Don’t give up on me right now I’m no longer bound Left you when you needed me the most Turned around and I left you alone But don’t give up on me right now, don’t leave our love postponed
[Verse 2] Had my back when all the world was in front of me Trying desperately to pull me down to my knees, but After all we weren’t that much different There were days I felt you were against me too But still us two seemed to stick like glue Even though I know our hearts were conflicted
I say I’m sorry, say I’m sorry all the time So much the word starts to lose its meaning I say I’m sorry, say I’m sorry all the time Incapable of showing how much you mean
[Chorus] Don’t give up on me right now There’s still so much joy left to be found Don’t give up on me right now I’m no longer bound Left you when you needed me the most Turned around and I left you alone But don’t give up on me right now, don’t leave our love postponed
[Bridge] I can now admit that I was it I killed our happiness I can now admit that I was it I killed our trust I can now admit that I was it I killed our bliss I can now admit that I was it I killed our friendship
[Chorus] Don’t give up on me right now There’s still so much joy left to be found Don’t give up on me right now I’m no longer bound Left you when you needed me the most Turned around and I left you alone But don’t give up on me right now, don’t leave our love postponed
[Chorus] Don’t give up on me right now (woooo) There’s still so much joy left to be found (ooooh) Don’t give up on me right now I’m no longer bound Left you when you needed me the most Turned around and I left you alone But don’t give up on me right now, don’t leave our love postponed
She dips into the chorus again, the same raw emotion as she had before and her amazing voice being top of its game. Then, she gets into the bridge where she gets calmer. Her voice is soft yet you can still hear her clearly as she repeats it over and over then goes into the final note which she holds for a few seconds. With the band behind her playing softly, she sings the first few lines of the chorus before they jump back in and she belts out another note, this time with much more force than before. She then allows the moment to take its time as she ad-libs and goes all out. Meanwhile, she and the backup singers trade places as she is singing more of the notes than the lyrics, until the second song ends. The audience applauds again and she bows her head, thanking them once more. |
