I went to the hairdresser and tried to change my hair a bit by dying it blue.
EPIC FAIL, I'm blond...BLOND! (not fully, but half of it is)

I'd rather have green hair than blond...

I have nothing against blondes, I just don't like it on my hair.

I dyed my hair blonde before blue, hoping that that way the blue color would show up more, but it didn't :(

Really? My hair doesn't seem to have a problem to hold red. It even lasts longer than it should.
I think it's because of the brand my mother bought, it's not the best :P
Hopefully I'll wash it multiple times today and tomorrow and try again, with a different brand, on Saturday.

Now, I'm an amateur hairdresser, but I really don't get that :S If you had to bleach your hair to dye a blue over it, then all well and good, because the blue can unstick and cause the hair to show the blonde tone instead. But that's weird. I might look into that, if ever for some reason I'm possessed to go blue...

I dyed my hair purple once. It was awesome.

Now that's much more logical. Blue dye residue is used in rinses, as well as purple, as a weak concentrate to tip very light blonde or white hair to silver. (And of course, I'd know a few things about that ;D) Depending on what colour you put it over, it could either under-process (blonde) or over-process (brown) to give you that grey colour due to the cold tone of the dye, and likewise, the ash base of the dye would have pulled to give you the green colour.

And as forkboy said from his friend, blue indeed comes out very swiftly as the molecules are some of the smallest and weakest in the hair colouring palette.

In other news, bought #2 of silver hair is over, I'm back to white blonde yet again, until the week leading up til halloween most likely. I got a lot of compliments for my hair, but it's too much of an effort to keep :/

Few WEEKS of vibrancy? You're quite lucky, you must have very well-conditioned hair to hold a red colour that long! Though if it was dyed over light brown, indeed, the colour hold would have been much longer than that of blonde hair. Though you've made a very good decision to buy dye from a hairdressers directly :) You get your moneys worth in the end!

Semi-perms are a fickle thing, sometimes they can come out entirely, but red's also a very strong colour, so it's possible it'll leave a very warm and orangey tone, or on the other hand a pinkish tone behind which stains the hair shaft.

And having someone sensible fix your hair is but the tip of the iceberg; to correctly take care of hair in dying (and cutting...) you should know exactly what your doing and made sure you have done your research.
