Nadia Berry returns with her first brand new solo song since "Circles", a number one soundtrack hit that was released back in November 2014. Since then, Berry's rejoined GirlSpice for their tenth studio album and a world tour, released her fourth fragrance Sweet Spot, and has also announced a Vegas residency, due to kick off in March this year Planet Hollywood's The AXIS.

The one-off single release is taken from the Vegas edition of Berry's greatest hits, titled The Collection. The new edition of the record will include Berry's hits over the Diamond in the Rough era, as well as this new single, with physical copies sold exclusively at Berry's Vegas shows. The news may be underwhelming to fans of the GirlSpice singer, who's dominated the charts in recent years with hits such as "Records On" and "Make It Right", as it looks like there's no plans of a new studio album any time soon. But if there's one thing fans of Nadia have learnt recently, it's to try and make the most of what the singer puts out when she eventually does... because you never know when the next time will be.

The brand new single "Back to Me" sees Nadia blend together the sounds that have made her the star she is today, pairing together emotional lyrics that deal with loss, longing and heartache with a euphoric, hard-hitting pop beat that creates an impactful, relatable song that'll likely get some talk going around who exactly Berry wrote this about. "Your love, she's not me, but in these starry nights, I see / A glimmer of hope, and a curse filled with love," Berry sings powerfully, there's a somewhat bitterness to her voice to go with the lyrics, as she ends the chorus with, "That'll tear you two apart, and you'll come runnin' back to me." Where her vocals sometimes seemed to take a backseat on GirlSpice's latest album Crown, it's a relief to finally hear Nadia right at the forefront and giving it her all.

"This is a song that I wrote very recently, and at that time, I had no idea what I was going to do with it. I had no plans for a new album, but by luck, I had met with my label and they already had plans to revamp my greatest hits for Vegas, so I feel like the stars aligned for this one song to make it happen," Nadia comments. "I feel passionate about all the music that I put my name to, but this one is just... really, really special to me. Perhaps one of my favourite songs that I've ever written, it just really speaks to me and I love songs that can really tug at the heartstrings without needing to be a piano ballad. My fingers are crossed that my fans will appreciate and enjoy this song as much as they have with my past material."

Nadia Berry might still be a big name to some within the industry when you focus on her achievements and past releases, or some may see her as a shadow of her former self now that she's in her thirties and seems to slowly be taking a step back from the limelight. Either way, it's a relief to know that in the space between her last album release and now, the quality of her music seems to of remained intact.
