Joshua and his friend Dae are out having a rather casual and friendly dinner date together, catching up after not having heard from each other in a number of weeks. With both of their debut albums rapidly approaching release date, the pair have been extremely busy as of late and work life has been heavily prioritised over socialising. This is a nice little break and a wind down from everything music business related. Not many people are aware of Dae and Joshua's friendship aside from the really invested fans. They aren't an overexposed and heavily fantasised "ship" like "Kaustin" and "Drewneil", but they do have a pretty solid bond formed. They met through mutual friends back in late 2016 and instantly hit it off, having a frightening amount in common. It was such a breath of fresh air to meet someone who was somewhat like-minded. Joshua made sure to keep in contact with this wild and wonderful man.

The New Jersey bistro is busy as it is dinnertime but the noise is relatively drowned out in the secluded booth where they are sitting. Joshua ordered a plate of fettuccine alfredo and made a specific request to the waiter, telling him to inform the kitchen that his food should NOT be prepared anywhere near peanuts. Seemed like a bit of a diva demand but he's just being extremely cautious. He has a severe allergy to peanuts to the extent where it could kill him. He twirls his fork around in his pasta as he converses with his friend. "So tell me, what's the hottest new conspiracy theory out there? You gotta keep me up to date, dude. We can't challenge governments if one of us is left in the dark." Joshua laughs before eating some of his pasta. He didn't necessarily believe the majority of Dae's theories but he loved listening to them and the conviction in which he delivers his explanations almost has him convinced for a bit. There's never a dull moment with Dae.

Joshua tries his best to keep his eyes on Dae and not look across the bistro, catching someone else's eye. It was once a regular spot for him but once Trump was elected and Joshua hopped online to rant that night, his life changed. Someone always wants to start on him in public all because of his opinions whether it's regarding politics or pop music. Poor Joshua's back is always up and despite what one may think, he actually doesn't like confrontation all that much. He is trying his best to just chill, focus on his friend and immerse himself in conversation.

Joshua listens to Dae's latest theory and some of it does ring a bell. He remembers watching a YouTube video not too long ago about the pyramids of Antarctica and was rather intrigued. Joshua has a very open mind and accepts the fact that just because something is far-fetched, it doesn't mean that it is impossible. Dae's theory is one that he can get on board with. "That's crazy, dude. I don't think we've even scratched the surface in regards to this mad world...and beyond. Wouldn't shock me if we did have alien interference. To think that we're the only ones in this entire expanding and vast galaxy is just stupid." Joshua does support his friend and wants to make it loud and clear that he has his back. Dae must get a lot of people looking at him like he's batshit crazy. Joshua truly appreciates this wacky and wonderful side to his friend.

Joshua looks over his shoulder and then chuckles, realising how paranoid he is. He may seem confrontational and always willing to debate on the spot but in actuality, Joshua just wants to be left in peace and enjoy this time with his buddy. "No, man. No need to duck. Just a little...on edge, you might say. Can't remember the last time I was out in public and left alone. Kinda waiting for something to start." Joshua is just adjusting to fame as his popularity is rapidly soaring. While he may not be the biggest name in the world, his star is shining brighter than it ever has done before. "So..." he says, scratching his head while trying to change the subject, "...I bagged myself a boyfriend since we last spoke!" Joshua chuckles and glows at the mention of Johnny. Many would think that Joshua would be rather cold and more like a loner but the truth is, he's a total sap.

Joshua appreciates people who speak their mind and stand by their beliefs no matter how "out there" they are. Growing up, Joshua was not a very popular kid because his mind was for more developed and expanded than all the others his age. Most kids wanted to talk about television shows, sports, video games and all that jazz while Joshua was that "weird" kid who always watched the news, had an interest in politics and revelled in scientific facts. It's safe to say he was pretty much a loner but he never changed to be part of the crowd. It is only in his late teenage years that he's started to actually find some like-minded and interesting people. Dae makes Joshua feel safe and comfortable and he admires the way his friend carries himself. Despite being rather outlandish at times, Dae still seems very approachable and friendly, meaning that he and his bizarre stories rarely make people uncomfortable. Joshua, on the other hand, often comes across as too intense, direct and forceful which is a reason he's challenged a lot. "Well there are very ignorant people out there. Those who deny alien existence may as well just say something else like...climate change is a myth." Joshua chuckles and sips his coke. He always finds a way to sneak in some presidential shade.

When Dae offers to switch seats, Joshua shakes his head and reaches out to touch Dae's arm as if to tell him to stay exactly where he is.
"No, no. You don't have to move for me, buddy. I guess I have to get used to this stuff." Joshua flashes a quick smile before twirling his fork around in his pasta, feeling like he's slowly wading through it. Joshua has a very slender build and small appetite. "Man I wish I just ordered the onion rings now." He laughs softly before taking another forkful of food. Joshua tries his best not to look like a blushing fool when talking about his boyfriend but he can't help it. His cheeks remain a cute rosy red and his smile is impossible to hide. He obviously has pretty strong feelings for Johnny. "Thank you, buddy." Joshua wipes around his lips with a napkin and continues; "Things are amazing. Honestly. We're both in similar positions in the industry so we can offer a lot of support and we really encourage each other to be the best that we can be. He's also great at keeping me in check and telling me to cool it when I get too intense." Not many people have the privilege of telling Joshua Grimmie to shush. "Great ass on him too..." Joshua chuckles and sips more of his coke while blushing. Last time they spoke, Joshua was still very much a virgin.

"Oh, science is all wrong. Preposterous. The thought of a species evolving through generations, using natural selection in order to survive, adapt and advance in their environment is such a foolish thought." Joshua chuckles and takes another sip of his Coke, now seeming more interested in his beverage and conversation than actual food. "Now, one dude creating the Earth in six days? That's far more sensible." Joshua loves that someone else actually "gets" him and how they can both speak freely without being judged. Even though he loves Johnny, there are still some restrictions on what he can talk about with him due to opposing views or his partner not really having an interest in another one of his rants. "While we're on the subject, Adam and Eve really piss me off. They were told that the only thing they can't do is eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge. What do they do? Fucking eat it. Damn straight white people wanting to claim everything."

Joshua laughs and shakes his head at Dae. The idea of a wedding is not one currently running through his mind right now as he believes it is far too soon and early in his career to make such a big commitment like that but, in all honesty, it isn't actually a scary thought. "I'll let you know what you can sing nearer the time. Nice moves, though!" Joshua gives his friend a playful wink. When Dae gushes over his relationship with Johnny and asks him how this all happened, he hides behind his glass of Coke. He isn't even thirsty, Joshua's just trying to somewhat cover his constantly blushing face. Not many people get to ask Joshua such personal questions and receive an actual answer in return. He is not the type to publicly talk about what goes on behind closed doors, especially in the bedroom. One thing Joshua HATES is being asked "top or bottom?" on Twitter constantly. Like it's anyone's business? Luckily for Dae, they have a proper friendship and he's willing to spill the details. "Well...I was staying over at his place after yet another date. In fact, the date was at his house. I cooked for him. It was a real chill night. We talked, had a great meal, cuddled up on the sofa and we started to make out. We had kissed before so that was nothing new but it started to become more intense...like hands were in places and the strangest thing was, I wasn't freaked at all. It was so natural."

Joshua has said to Dae in the past that sex was a big commitment and still something that truthfully scared him. He even had a long-term girlfriend before Johnny but nothing happened with them between the sheets. "We went up to the bedroom and I was secretly praying that I wouldn't have to bottom on my first go but luckily I was spared that pain. He wanted me to fuck him and...wow. Like...man, had I been missing out!" Joshua giggles and leans in, making sure his voice is as quiet as possible so that nobody else hears what he'll say next. He looks over his shoulder to double check that nobody is around. "But uh...it was kinda embarrassing for me because...I, I uh, didn't know I had such a filthy mouth. Seriously, I get a little carried away when I get going and these...real dirty things just slip out of my mouth. I have no idea where they come from." Joshua laughs as quietly as possible but it's apparent that he is a little insecure about it.
