Got it's radio premiere about a week ago now but thought I'd post now! For anyone who doesn't know who she is, she's the winner of The X Factor, the same show where Leona Lewis won a few years before that. This will be the lead single from her debut album which is getting a release in the UK in October and she'll be trying to crack the U.S with this probably sometime early next year.

Thoughts? :) I listen to the solo version of it on my iTunes instead since I don't really like Flo Rida but I still love it!

Ehh I don't know, I think she's selling herself short in this branch of pop. R&B wasn't what I expected, especially for someone who wanted to work with Beyonce. I reckon she could do better, and I'll wait for this album to prove me wrong.

Her voice is still beautiful though on this.

Yeah but I'm just glad she isn't releasing a ballad for her lead single because she's always said she's wanted to distance herself from Leona so at least this will remove all the comparisons between them. :)

Is this sarcasm? You didn't expect someone who wants to work with Beyonce to record an R&B record? Assuming you don't mean rhythm and blues, now that WOULD be a shock.

Not so siked about it because Florida ruined the song. It's mediocre, I love the flow of the lyrics though, but this sounds recycled.

Maybe it will grow on me once the music video is released.

But let me just say she is a wonderful singer, I love how raspy and unique her voice sounds, she should use it more for R&B songs but then again they'll compare her to Leona.

Didn't this girl cover "Hallelujah" at some point? Sorry I just don't keep on top of any UK music news aside from You Me at Six :p If that was her then that was probably one of the best covers I've ever heard of it the only 2 I can say were better was Jeff Buckley and Paramore's cover.

But I'm not feeling this song at all. This track reminds me so much of "Good Girls Go Bad", this track is just from a girls main persepective and reminds me even more of it because it has an artist featured in it as well.

At least in GGGB the featured artist was fairly decent but Flo-Rida is just abysmal on this song. I know she is doing it because Flo-Rida is pretty big here in the states but I doubt he can bring her the success he had with a song like "Low" or "Right Round".

I still have to say she has an amazing voice, but I don't believe this track really shows it to it's full potential like it does on the "Hallelujah" cover.

"Hallelujah" was the winner's song for the the 2008 series of X Factor she won, and her first single :) So yes yes, you are correct. Eoghan Quigg's version was awful, and JLS'.

I've yet to hear a good version of Hallelujah, in fairness. It's a song that utterly fails to connect with me on any level.

I'm sorry, are you deaf? That cover of Hallelujah was one of the most horrifyingly misguided things I have ever heard, and the re-release cash-in that surrounded it actually made me want to punch the universe to death.

Well I think he covered that by it being him saying it. Jesus Christ, we're all fucking aware that music is subjective, we shouldn't need big bold letters at the start of every post

IN MY OPINION...

Just saying because they way he says is like its a fact or something, anyway, I actually adore the cover, her voice is amazing and of coarse it can't be better than the original but it isn't abysmal like he claims.

Oh and I like using the bold feature on sentences or word parts because it represents that I'm putting emphasis on that certain part of the statement. Anyway, I believe I was the one that brought it back during the debate thread era, when I did it everyone started doing it again.

But she's doing that whole diva warbling crap and the sickly sweet Christmas production job on it... It smacks of false sentiment.

The original is a so-called classic song of some distinction, though the better known Jeff Buckley really sells it best, as a stripped-down singer-songwriter piece. The X Factor version though is an identikit pop production, with all the strings, backing vocals, christmas choirs, and other stuff that goes into all these modern megahits. Sure, each to their own, but I honestly can't see the appeal.

I actually had a guest lecture from the guy who runs the studio where they recorded the string section for the record in Stockholm, Ian Agate, and he was taking us through the technical details of the recording session. He played the string parts through and then he started the finished song, and skipped to the bit where they appear, and then after about ten seconds he stopped the playback and said we should take a break, so we could all go outside and vomit.

Leonard Cohens version will always be best...

Gah they've both got dodgy noses.

Still, this song is bloody awful. She's a brilliant singer though, such a waste of her voice.

its not so much a case of bad boys as...... bad song

ahahahahahahaha i kill myself sometimes..

catchy chorus but thats about it i think. Not something i like or would personally think of buying.
and as for hallijulah... leonard Cohen will always be an amazing poet, but as a singer he does let himself down on that song. My personal favorate version of the song is by John Cale... featured in scrubbs of all things.
