Forget the wildness, forget the fake celebrity feelings and forget all the shenanigans. Let's be fucking REAL here for a minute.As I type this up, I still can't quite believe what I am experiencing but it is true. Pinching myself and yup, GOD IS GOOD, Y'ALL! It sounds bizarre to say but...I AM FREE. After three years stuck in limbo and having my art, my mind, my soul being tampered with day in, day out, I can happily say that I am no longer in my contract with Pesky and I am now a free agent. I can't delve much further into why I was finally released for legal reasons but let me just say that it IS possible for the good guys to win. It may sound odd to say but I can honestly say that Pesky are a great label and I am not slandering them for one second. They nurture their talent, give opportunities that many other labels aren't willing to offer and they have produced some of the finest artists around today. I was elated when I first signed my deal and while I had a strong support system and many people fighting my corner from within, it became very apparent that someone had ulterior motives. Again, for legal reasons, I can't name names but y'all ain't stupid. You KNOW. I KNOW. We been knew. It was sabotage from within and unfortunately, that person was in a position of great power. Power which they abused. They had nobody to answer to while I had to jump through hoops on a daily basis. That is why I had to take drastic legal action in the end, despite having conflicted feelings for some time. People warned me from the start and said that I was asking for trouble. Like a fool, I gave someone the benefit of the doubt and signed with my heart, not my head. Mistakes are made so we learn from them, however. As of right now, I currently have no deal and I'm really not sure where to go from here. I own all my masters so don't worry, Southern Belle is still very much on its way. I know you're all sick of waiting and "SOON". I am too. It's never been my own choice to delay proceedings. Please bear with me right now as I sort some shit out. I'm sure y'all can wait a little longer. I'm exploring all my options and just enjoying this newfound freedom. For the first time, I am an independent artist. The indie route seems like the most sensible thing to do after my ordeal but I don't know the first thing about that. Jumping right back into a deal is a scary thing too but I do love the strong support of a major label and the extended family it produces. Keeping all my options opened as well as my mind. I could look back in anger but that won't help propel me forward and that is the direction I wish to go from now on in. I've learned. I've lost. I've gained. Of course, I wish this situation never happened but it has certainly taught me many lessons about both the industry and myself. I can take all of that and apply it to everything I do in life. Let's turn a negative into a positive. I'm so much stronger and wiser now. You thought the "new" Andrea was a force to be reckoned with? Y'all ain't seen NOTHING yet
