I would like to know who you guys think the greatest music icon of all time is, it can be any genre.
I would also like you to put your favourite album and song by that artist e.g John Lennon - Imagine (Album) - Working Class Hero (Song).
Also if you want to put a short description on why you have chosen the artist, that would be good.
Mine would be

Bob Dylan - The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan (Album) - Blowin In The Wind (Song).

Sex Pistols, Ramones, Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, god too many to count. But really I think Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson were definitely huge. But Sex Pistols and Bob Dylan are close up there, and obviously The Beatles, so not really sure.

I believe Elvis is bigger than Michael Jackson.
And then we have The Beatles.
I own:

Andrew Guinnard (Post-punk/acoustic)
Lucy Tankeray (Pop diva/weird)

Nah, Michael was bigger, less talented, but bigger. The Beatles were just insanely popular and probably more so than Michael.

In your opinion, but in this case we arent talking about individual opinions, we are talking about who changed music the most, and who the world looks up or know the best, and overall, Elvis is much more widely known, and liked that Michael Jackson.

I know that is my opinion. I personally think Michael Jackson had a more impact in the WORLD than Elvis. Michael Jackson re invented himself every album unlike Elvis. Just your opinion and this one is just mine.

Wrong, Elvis started with rockabilly, albums moved on to country, gospel, rock, soft rock, contemporary, and even dipped into some pop in the later years.

Elvis. By far. Comparing MJ to Elvis is just downright insulting.

In terms of bands, I'd say BLACK SABBATH. We're forty years later and their first four LPs are still the heaviest albums recorded.

Each generation has it's one interest in sound. There could be a generation in which people prefer hard-monstrous vocals-Take the late eighties as an example. Lyrics, same thing. Moves, well, I don't necessarily what you mean by moves. If you mean dance moves, then that too was choice of generation. Music, do I have to continue.

Still, MJ owes Elvis a bunch, since if Elvis didn't make music, artists would have completely different sounds and influences today.
