Erica sez: this is surprisingly autobiographical.i kid,i kid. I've NEVER done anything like this. Certainly not. Nope.
Cassie sez: I have. but i didn't care if he found out. Also, let's be clear: I didn't write this tripe. It's all Erica.
karoliena sez: see,I wouldn't bother with a secret affair. If the guy didn't want to join too, well then he didn't deserve me in the first place.
Mariko sez this song took so many takes. I got the giggles and kept laughing though the entire thing. If you listen close, you can hear me towards the very end of the song. We left it in though. We all thought it fit the spirit of the song.

Erica Sez: the situation is fictional, but the idea comes from a real place. You ever have a rather, spirited weekend pounding down the spirits? Then come Sunday night, you sober up just can't sleep? You toss and turn all night. If you're lucky Monday night is fine. Anyways, that's what this is all about. But set to a super cute song.
review
This was sold as an authentic take on the famous 60's girl group sound, but ended up being just another Erica penned project. While,it may be up for debate if the subject matter of the original groups like this song about would hold up today,it would have been nice to see. Instead,we get two songs about infidelity and binge drinking. Something tells me this wouldn't fly back in the day. The subject matter is what holds this back. People don't want to be bummed out when listening to this type of music.
That being said...this is 6 and a half minutes of pure, sugary goodness. The famed Phil Spector wall of sound recording method is perfectly replicated. The group sounds HUGE, slick, and yet very organic. The backing band bounces right along, worming it's way into your psyche.
The vocals complete the infection . Erica,Cassie, karoliena, and Mariko harmonize to near manic perfection. Lead duties are taken over by Cassie summers. It's been awhile since we've heard her,but she remains a force to be reckoned with. Much like group mate, Erica, there are some very pleasing vocals underneath their typical punk rock growl. ( You two can sing. Quit pretending to sound tough) of course,we already knew Mariko and karoliena could sing. We were surprised to see Mariko kind of hang out in the background though.
The women were having a good time making this, and it shows. Even the non parody song comes through with smiles you can hear. Who knows the shelf life this genre or project will have, but it's fun while it's around.
Available as a free download or made to order 7" record. The physical copies aren't limited editions, but each one is custom made . Available now from bee's knees military industrial complex for a better tomorrow.
ooc:compliment my art. you dont want to know how long i spent making it.
