JoshuaGrimmie: I'm sorry if I scared anyone over these past few weeks. Mental health is no joke. I've been battling with things on top of my bipolar: severe depression, anxieties and exhaustion just to name a few. My overly prideful ass took it as a cruel joke. Rather than doing the sensible thing and reach out, I let it boil over out of fear and pride. "I own my illness, it doesn't own me!". While that mantra is true, I took it to the extreme.
JoshuaGrimmie: I refused medication when it was ESSENTIAL. When I eventually started to take it again after being committed, I'd only take some and hoard the rest. I was my own worst enemy and it went so far beyond the point of no return, I was no longer in control. I COULDN'T bring myself back without severe intervention. What started out as minor grievances turned into spiraling and blazing mental health defects. I just became a ticking time bomb - robotic and volatile.
JoshuaGrimmie: It has taken me a while to address this situation because I wasn't ready, in all honesty. I'm sorry for that but it was important that I took care of myself first. People expect me to take the blows as they come and keep forging ahead. I thought that about myself too. I've learned the hard way that it's OK not to be OK. Sometimes you have to rest up, listen to the doctor, watch Netflix from your bed and block out the world. Detaching has been so hard for me but crucial to my recovery. The government is lucky.
JoshuaGrimmie: I'm not 100% myself yet. Today is a good day. This moment in time is a great one. I still have pretty shitty moments, hours and days though. I'm trialing different medication, I'm still struggling to give up control at times and my last couple of manic episodes have not been pretty. I just want you all to know that I am on the right path and I am eternally grateful for all of the love I've been receiving from friends and fans alike. Love you all and I'll see you soon.

Gasp in the room but then I told everyone I founded out when I did that interview for Culture Uncut, and everyone was like "seems legit"
