Fans were in shock today after Billy Maddison was sentenced to 20 years to life inprisonment by the Old Bailey.
The 31 year old musician was on trial for the murder of 27 year old Krista Briskett - a claim he fiercely denied. The jury disagreed, however, after an intense 2 day showdown in which the prosecution even accused Billy Maddison of murdering Gemma Maddison's ex fiance Raven (the Thunderwolf frontman and guitarist who was murdered a couple of months ago).

Fans and protesters outside the court, who had spent the past 50 plus hours outside the court in support of Billy, were angered by the decision with one claiming "this is a disgraceful miscarriage of justice! It just goes to show how flawed the English legal system is when an obviously innocent man is sent to prison on no evidence, simply to make a statement, and to close a case without bothering to solve it".

Maddison's tearful wife, Gemma, 20, thanked fans and supporters outside the court and told reporters that "the fight is not over. I know Billy is innocent and so does every single person who has waited out here the past two days. I will keep fighting this abysmal decision until the truth comes out and my husband is free again. Thank you to everybody who came down to speak up for Billy, you have no idea what it means, I just hope you can stay with us in the coming months until this ridiculous sentence is overturned - which it will be".

The crowd outside the court remained in place, filling up every road in a three street radius around the court, until the prosecutors left the building. They were greeted by angry boos and jibes from the crowd, some even trying to attack the prosecution's main lawyer. They were promptly removed by police.
