Ambulance Called To Ryan Ross Hernandez L.A. House

Los Angeles, California --- Authorities were called to the home of PANIC! frontman Ryan Ross Hernandez' house in Los Angeles, where police said the 22-year old was taken to the hospital and treated for an accidental overdose of sleeping pills late Wednesday night.

It "wasn't an overdose," close friend and bandmate Gabriel Hunter told reporters. "He's just really been under a lot of stress lately and has had a lot of trouble sleeping," he continued "I've been the only bandmate to visit him in the hospital so far, but I know that the Fallon brothers will be flying over to visit him tomorrow morning and Nick Asher should be here later today. But a lot of his close friends from outside the band have visited him so far, and some of his family members are here as well."

Los Angeles County Police Chief said the case was not a suicide attempt. "We're classifying it as an accidental overdose of prescription sleeping pills," he said. "I'm not going to confirm or deny that it was Ryan Ross Hernandez. It was an individual at his home." He told media outside the hospital that the man took a about 10 sleeping pills of ativian and ambien cr. "He was unconscious, but breathing on his own," Los Angeles chief said to reporters. A on-location EMT says that Hernandez had also drank about half a bottle of red wine after taking the pills.

The drama is the latest in what has been a difficult year or so for Hernandez.

After a rough breakup in late-2007, he went through a serious state of depression which is when he started using sleeping pills. In November of last year, various sources confirmed that he had attempted to commit suicide when he went on a trip alone to Italy during PANIC!'s self-described as 'internal issues' but was stopped by a maid. Through it all, his band was also in the brick of breaking up due to Hernandez and Ashley Perry both distancing themselves from each other and the band.

This afternoon, Perry said she had not spoken to Hernandez, though others in the band had. "Ryan spoke with other members of PANIC! and is OK from what I've heard," the she said in a statement. "He is dealing with some personal matters, and I myself will have no further comment. He has asked that we respect his privacy, and we should." She didn't confirm if, like her bandmates, she was planning to go see Hernandez in Los Angeles.

Messages left with PANIC!'s publicist and tour manager weren't returned. Police officials said an ambulance and two police officers responded to a 911 call that came in from the Thomas home a couple minutes before midnight. The victim was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, close from the home. Officials with Good Samaritan Emergency Medical Service declined to say what happened, citing medical privacy laws.

"There's a concern, I'm sure everybody I would think is wishing for the best for his family but again ... I don't really know a whole lot," friend of Ryan and former PANIC! member Anilet Lowell said. Who drove up to visit him from San Francisco.

Late Thursday afternoon, a small SUV escorted by a police car pulled into a private road leading to the home of Hernandez, about 30 miles from downtown Los Angeles. Hernandez purchased the house on for more than $1 million in 2008, according to the Journal News.

"This is life, this is something that happened. It's an unfortunate situation, and we still don't know the exact story or whatever happened. But I don't look at something like this as a distraction; this is an unfortunate incident." bassist of PANIC!, Nick Asher told reporters when he arrived at Los Angeles International Airport at 8 PM local time.

A unnamed family member of the artist told the media that "it would be disappointing if Ashley didn't come to visit him. I think it would really help Ryan get through this tough time. He really needs her to be close to him right now."

As of 8:30 PM local Los Angeles time, Hernandez' doctor Mark Ellis confirmed that he is in stable condition but will be kept until Saturday for observations. The doctor went on to reveal that the musician was never treated for depression in the last two years but did have prescriptions for both sleeping pill medications. When asked about any previous prescription drug abuse, doctor said that to his knowledge, this is the first that the young man has been treated of.

No statements have been made about the band's US arena tour starting on Tuesday in Los Angeles, at the Staples Center. Nor about the band's scheduled appearances at the International Music Awards, Rock Awards, or Pop Honors Awards all of which are coming in the next 2 weeks.

Wow. This has really hit home for me, being an alcoholic and all. I'm scared to even touch a bottle now, knowing a much less risky drug nearly claimed the life of Ryan Ross Hernandez. My prayers go out to all of his family. Get well soon!

Ryan Ross Hernandez Released from Hospital

Today at 6 PM, local Los Angeles time, records indicate that Ryan Ross Hernandez was released from Good Samaritan hospital. Although he signed off at 6, the artist didn't exit the hospital until 7:30 PM and was meet with camera flashes and questions from reporters. A podium was set-up outside the hospital where stood in front showing a small grin. Physically Hernandez looked fine, sporting a white suit jacket with a white long-sleeve shirt under it and washed up denim jeans. Ryan was accompanied by all of his bandmates Gabriel Hunter, Nick Asher, and the Fallon brothers Josh and Joey, well all bandmates except one. Hernandez cleared his throat loudly through the mic to quite down the reporters, when they did Ryan slowly began to speak.

"Right off the bat, I want to make clear that I don't have anything written down so everything I'm going to be saying is from the top of my head. Alright?

Well first thing, that I must say is thank you to all nurses and doctors here at the Good Samaritan hospital. They treated me great, all my stay here and doctor Ellis was great. More than just a doctor, he was also a therapist to me. So, a big thank you to him.

Something that I must clarify, is that the unfortunate incident that happened this past Wednesday night, was what police officials classified it as a 'accidental overdose'. I want to make clear to everyone that I was not attempting to commit suicide or harm myself. For the last two years I've had a lot of trouble sleeping and yes its true I did go through a strong depression for the length of around a year or so.

Right now, I don't have the time nor strength to go into details as to why or how I got into that depression. But I assure everyone that when the time is right I will tell everyone want is and has been going in personal life, whether it be in an interview or whatever. Like I've said before those sleeping pills were prescribed to me by a certified doctor to help me sleep better which I have a hard time doing during tours. I do admit that this past Wednesday I wasn't trying to use those pills to sleep but rather to forget which through the months I've found out that a mixture of those pills make me forget about things that I don't want to think about, even if it just was for a temporary amount of time.

I admit that I was rather ignorant to think that I wasn't causing any damage to my well being, by using those pills. Anyone that's ever toured with PANIC! can tell you that we have absolutely no drugs or alcohol on tour like other bands do. But I had thought myself to think that I wasn't using in drug, which in fact I was causing myself as much damage as I would have if I had sniffed cocaine.

Like I mentioned before, I was not attempting to commit suicide this past Wednesday. But early last year I did attempt suicide but I will not be going into detail about that at this time. I know there is probably many questions still unanswered for many people and I will answer them in the near future.

As far as PANIC!'s upcoming United States tour, nothing has changed and the tour will still start on Tuesday, just a couple of blocks from here in the Staples center. I feel that I need to get out there and do what I know how to do best because I think the tour will really help me forget about what I'm dealing with in my personal life. Same things goes with all the award shows coming up, we will appear in all the upcoming award shows we are scheduled to appear in.

I want to give a big thank you to all my family and friends that came to visit me or called me to check on me. I'm really grateful for them. Also I want to thank all the fans and fellow musicians that I have also recevied many 'get well's' and prayers from them.

Thank you for your time and goodnight.
"

Hernandez and fellow bandmates quickly made their ways out of the sea of media and supporters. All of them entering a black SUV that was waiting for them at the front of the hospital. But a lot of fans are concerned that there was no sign or mention of fellow bandmate Ashley Perry, who many think is a main reason of Hernandez' depression.
