First of all, I've been a fan of Owl City since June 2008. I was visiting some cousins in Minnesota, and in the state already, the radio station played "a song from one of our local celebrities" ,which was Adam Young's Owl City project, who weren't that popular then. I fell in love with his song "The Saltwater Room"! However, I didn't listen to him much until "Fireflies" first came out. I loved it from the beginning. And this week, I found that it is at number one on the US Hot 100! Finally, in the 2000s, a truly talented artist, completely fresh and true to his work, was finally able to break into the mainstream succcess, and also top all of the mediocre artists who can barely call themselves musicians. Finally, this is what true music fans wanted to see! Some people might not like his music because it is electropop and synthrock, but you gotta admit, he is good.

I think he might be a one hit wonder, it is just one of those artist that has a hit and you never hear from the again. But then again, I don't know. I do like the song and I have it on my I-pod. But good, if you like someone and thy have an impact in your life that is awesome. Whether the artist is Pop Rock, Indie or whatever :)

He just released the follow-up to "Fireflies" this week, and it's not even "officially released" yet, so it's still too early to tell if he will be a one-hit wonder, because the follow up "Vanilla Twilight" has charted at number 95 already without being even released individually as a digital single, so there's still potential. But overall, I kinda have a feeling he might become a one-hit wonder anyway lol. Just kinda a strange feeling.

The song hasn't even been "officiall released" yet, and it already has a spot on the hot 100, along with the current chart-topper "Fireflies".

Are you sure you didn't just become a fan because he began posting his stuff on myspace in 2006.

My apologies, I was rather trashed when I posted that. I believe it was early 07 he was doing the rounds on MySpace and whacked out Of June later that year. After that, I just didn't like him. He can only write so many songs about the ocean and the sky.
