One thing you probably don't know about me is that I love roller coasters. In fact I'm a costaer fanatic, I will get anything. And I mean anything. I even got on the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world, called "Kingda Ka" in New Jersey. I got all roller coaster tycoon games and if a new roller coatser comes out in my area I must ride it.

I love rollercoasters and theme parks too. Been about 11 years since I've actually been to one, on an awesome trip to Florida (Forkboy was there too). Busch Gardens in Florida has a couple of great coasters, Kumba and Montu. Also a big fan of those boat rides, Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld in Florida, and Pirates of the Carribbean in Disneyland Paris, which better by miles than the Florida version. Oh, and Thunder Mountain and Haunted Mansion are better in Paris too.

Never been to a proper British theme park like Alton Towers though, just rubbish travelling fairs with horrible Waltzers.

Yes!!! I was afraid no one liked them and I would make this thread a waste. Personally my all time favorite park in Florida is Universal's Island of Adventures.
Oh and with the Pirates's ride, I've heard that a lot, but I also do hear that Disney World in Orlando is much better. I could't possibly judge that, since I've never been to Paris.

StormForce 10 rollercoaster at Drayton Manor is my favourite <3 some huge drops (including the biggest one where you go backwards), you get soaked, but I love it! Been to Drayton Manor and Alton Towers loads of times, I live too close to them not to, sometimes on days out with friends/family, we even had school trips there. Oh yes, and I've been to Disneyland Paris a few times when I was a young 'un too, back when it was EuroDisney. (Why is that Small World ride allowed to exist!?) Anyway, thrillseeker here!

I don't mind a few rollercoasters, I go to Thorpe Park every once in a while. Although I never go on any of the scary ones, I'm a baby. :P I'm not a big fan of the water rides anymore though... I went on a log ride and got soaking wet and stupid me had a white top on... you know the rest, lmao.

I love them, go to Thorpe Park all the time. Smallworlds GREAT no matter WHAT anyone says, but still the Pirates one in Paris is shit.

Roller coasters are cool, although I'm pretty scared of the big ones :P
If they don't turn you upside down at some point, I like, if they do, hell no.
I've been to Hopi Hari (biggest amusement park in Brazil and one of the biggest in Latin America, I guess) 6 times but still haven't got the guts to try any of the roller coasters there (except one for children LOL).

It's because of my fear of throwing up, and the waiting lines there are HUGE (seriously, I went with friends one day and they spent their entire afternoon waiting to ride the 5th biggest coaster on the world, located there).
Or maybe I'm trying to give excuses to not sound like a coward :P

not really because your not actually doing anything on a rollercoaster, you just sit there while being thrown about. With Skiing and Snowboarding you are actually in control, you decide how fast, how slow, when you turn, when you stop where you go etc etc, that is what gives you the rush, being in complete control and then hooning it down a slope...

im sorry that so many people appear to be offended by the fact that i don't like rollercoasters and theme parks in general, but hey thats just the way i am.

Hey, you're entitled to an opinion, but you're using reductio ad absurdum which I don't agree with. Skiing and snowboarding are active, rollercoasters and other rides are passive. I mean, you wouldn't call going to see a movie at the cinema "sitting down and staring at a bunch of lights on a wall." The thrill of the rollercoaster is experiencing something that seems extremely dangerous, and is entirely outwith your control, even though it is extremely safe. Not hard to understand when you describe it like that. Very hard to understand when you say that all a rollercoaster is is queuing up in order to sit down.
