You certainly can’t cause any permanent damage to the money maker. It is what is paying the bills. I get your mindset in doing that but it is tough, even more so hinging on whatever the result is tomorrow night. Everyone has a different compass on how they manage things. I know I would have done the same when I was younger but now I guess I’ve learned enough of myself that when something heavy is weighing on me, I am better off just going into hibernation for a bit. If you need to talk about anything this week, don’t be scared about reaching out. If the world is not on fire by then, I will be trying to make it to NYC on Saturday night for your SNL gig. |

Of course I have the #1 song in the country and hosting and performer on SNL on election week. Tied up in yet another ferocious vote. Also have no idea what kind of SNL show I'll be hosting. I know the bulk of the content will be quickly written post results. Really not helping calm the nerves. I have a political target on my back anyway but when I do a skit right after an election? Fuck. Also have no idea what type of America I'll be standing live in front of. Freaking out. I've been really good though, Ryan. There's no junk in the house. It should be an incredible week for you but there’s this fucking cloud hanging over everything. I know regardless of which direction this country goes, there will be at least half of the population that will be upset. It is a given that violent will erupt in one aspect or anything. There’s no going around that. I can only say that you are careful and aware of everything going into SNL this weekend. I’m glad and proud that you are keeping yourself clean, man. It is real easy with everything going on to fall back on that but the more strong you will come out of this if you are able to keep your head above water through it all. |

Nerves are on all sorts of tenterhooks right now. Last night, I rolled up a joint but crushed it in my palm out of anger. Threw everything out. I could really fucking use a smoke or a pill right about now. I can't lie about that. I feel like shit. Truly appreciate your support though. I know you have your own stuff going on. That would be a fucking victory. I will be ecstatic if your song is at #1 and we finally dump that asshole once and for all. It takes some guts to have it at hand and be able to stop yourself from giving in. I’m sure you have that urge and I get it. It is easier to be out of your current headspace than living it. You just have to remind yourself constantly over and over again that you are better off with none of that shit in your system. It is a constant battle. There will be highs and lows. I’ve been through the ringer plenty of times. I can relate with pretty much everything you’re saying. As I’ve told you, I’m here for you. You are my friend and I will do everything I can to help. The shit I have on my plate is irrelevant. I rather be a useful resource for somebody else than get caught up in my own problems. |

Man, I have no idea what to do with my body right now. Hands keep picking up objects. Feet keep tapping. Paced about the house I don't know how many times. It's fucking difficult. You're right though. It's what I'm trying to tell myself. A quick fix won't do any good in the long run. In fact, it'll only do damage. As much as I want it, I am NOT going to be fucking zombified on election night, when I visit my sister's grave on her birthday or when I'm doing SNL. Just want you to know that you also have my ear too. Don't want you feeling this is one sided. Though, my advice not be as wise as yours due to your...advanced years ;) |

It’s not meant to be easy. It is a fucking struggle day in and day out. While I’ve never falling quite down that rabbit hole, I have messed around with those quick fixes. I know how the lows look like and they are quite awful to experience. It will continue to be a challenging week. There’s no escaping that. We will cheers to when you make it through this clean and sober. I am aware of that and believe I am grateful too. I will definitely take you up on that offer one day. Overall I am OK. I think I might be hanging out with a certain girl tomorrow that should help ease some of the election night anxiousness. Oh, you’re such a little fucking punk. |

Thank you for believing in me. I just know this is going to be a loooooooooooong week ahead. Definitely appreciate all the support and words of encouragement. Sure as fuck going to need those. Don't get me wrong, during the days I seem to be fine. Distractions of life and all that shit keeps me occupied. When the nights set in, the world goes to sleep and I'm left alone in my head, however? Fucking horrific. My boyfriend is out of the state on work at the minute. Oh and lucky you! I'm sure that'll ease some anxiousness alright. I'll respect your privacy and won't ask for any details. Don't want horror stories of how you couldn't get it up hahaha. JoshuaGrimmie: Our first birthday without Ashley. She would have been 25 today. I still can't get my head around the fact that she's gone. I know she's "not here" but it just seems so unjust and unbelievable to even ring true. I keep expecting a phone call from her. I keep waiting for her to swing by for a random movie night with bags of sweet popcorn in hand even though I only like salted, something she never managed to remember. I anticipate her being at Thanksgiving. I feel as though I still have to buy her Christmas presents. My nerves are in pieces this week for a multitude of reasons. One part of my life is flourishing like never before while a soul-crushing darkness shrouds the other half. I spent most of my day at the cemetery just talking to Ash. Even though she couldn't respond, I still felt like she was listening and I felt a weight lifted from me in the way that only talking to Ash ever could do. If only we could switch places. I miss and love you, sis.  |
