This past Tuesday at the 19th IMAs, Nile's Fear was set to do a 2 song live set, as many are aware. What you might not know though is that as their set ended, lead singer/rythm guitarist Matt Carver step directly into the oncoming wall of pyrotechnics that was meant to end their show. Trying to avoid a scene, he was rushed out the back entrance of the Kettle Chip Academy in an ambulance. Upon arriving at the local hospital, he was diagnosed with severe 3rd degree burns down both his legs, his left arm, upper torso and face. Also, although believed to have been sober for the past 6 months, Matt's blood had 0.17 alcohol, almost twice the limit for driving, along with cocaine, meth and other as of yet unidentified substances.
Quote:
We all thought he had been clean for a while. David and I have kicked our habits, and Lucas has scaled down tremendously, but nobody ever really worried about keeping Matt in check. Some people might not know, but Matt has some serious mental issues with handling stress, and our recent success had been getting to him. It still shocks me, cause he was always the one who wouldn't get wasted, and drugs scare the shit out of him, so I don't know what happened that night, man.

Nile's Fear
The band has apparently been having some issues with Carver recently, along with Matt expressing his wishes multiple times to stop making music. As of know he has just been moved to the UCLA ICU, and it looks like he won't be getting out of there for quite some time. Until then, Nile's Fear has hired good friend David Osvaldo (ex-The Wicker Man) to cover for Carver.
