Bradley Ard and Tim Strike don't look like typical punk rockers. In fact, they look like they'd be more at home at a business convention than a concert stage. It's hard to believe they're at the core of Radio Nowhere, a band that, some time ago, always seemed poised to break out in a big way, yet never seemed to get recognition.

"We never seemed to really get much radio play", says Tim. "As a result, it seemed like we were spinning our wheels. Add to that, we were running a record label, managing four other bands on three continents, managing ourselves, it's no wonder we never got anywhere."

"We spread ourselves too thin", adds Brad. "We tried to do too much, none of it stuck, and we burned out."

Now, years later, they're fresh from a successful stadium tour and have both a new single and album being released. So what made them want to give it another go?

"When we closed up Nowhere Records, we wound up opening an IT consulting firm with our drummer, John. Paula got married and was teaching guitar around Chicago, and Sam moved to New York to try stage acting. The rest of the bands we'd worked with had either signed with other labels, or had already split, so we were the only ones left on our label."

"We felt like failures" adds Tim. "So, we closed it up and moved on. We were all sick of the music industry, so we got into another business, and we were doing okay. I'd kept in touch with Sam and Paula, and we'd gotten together occasionally, but there was never any talk of getting the band back together until about six months ago.

"Out of the blue, Paula calls me up because some cable channel had done a retrospective on us, like a 'where are they now' thing, and suddenly, we see a bunch of people streaming our old albums online. We were like, 'woah'.

"It was surreal", says Brad. "All this time, we'd never gotten much success, but after we've been split for a few years, all of a sudden, people want to hear us."

The band reassembled for some club shows around their hometown of Chicago, expecting maybe a few fans to show up. Less than two months later, they were playing arenas. So what happened?

"We have no idea!", says Brad. "We booked a couple club shows, just for shits and giggles, and they sold out. Within a couple months, we had offers from a promoter to play arenas, and we were almost selling them out. So surreal."

Tim adds, "Next thing we knew, we were digging through old demos and writing songs. So, we booked some studio time, took a couple weeks, and recorded an album. We even managed to hire Tony Visconti to produce, which was insane."

So what's the new album like? "Loud", says Brad. "This is some of the loudest material we've ever done, and the most hardcore punk, too. Tim took up guitar a couple years ago, and that's all over this album instead of turntables and keyboards, and it sounds amazing. In fact, we've reworked our old material around that, and people have really liked it. The new material has been really well-received live, too, so we can't wait for it to come out."

"Go", the new single from Radio Nowhere's upcoming new album of the same name, is expected to drop in just a few days.
