Idk of anyone notices but you don’t see anyone wearing Biden hats or gear. I was just talking about this yesterday to my partner when we saw someone wearing a face mask that read Trump 2020.
It’s like they are in a cult. Bunch of weirdos.

I think my city just all collectively moved on. I don't really see any political posters or yard signs anymore. We're all tired of politics and our city is still shitty so Might as well keep on keepin' on. |

I will never understand the blind, cult-like, obsessive mentality that some people still have for this guy. I do know that his rhetorical made all these xenophobic, racist nutjobs feel like they had a “voice” which in that alone lies a much more deeply rooted issue with the fact that over 74 million people voted for him last November.
I live in Minneapolis, which is pretty liberal/progressive in the twin cities area but once you travel to rural, small towns outside of it, there is plenty of propaganda still standing for Trump. I went down to visit my family last month in Miami, not far from Fort Lauderdale, and would randomly still see people here and there wearing some sort of Trump 2020 crap or hear old Cuban guys arguing about he was still the real president despite the clear election results. |

That was something strange I learned when I moved down here. I grew up in the panhandle, the area that gives us matt gaetz. So the fact that a large percentage of Cubans are loyal Republicans was shocking. But I guess it makes sense. When the wet foot/dry foot policy was in place, a large percentage, mainly the older set, certainly had the "fuck you,I got mine" mentality when it came to Haitians And people from central and south America.
It is insane that he got more votes in 2020 than he did in 2016. That is scary. Even my Ronald Reagan loving ex inlaws were not about to vote for trump.

I had to cleanse mine by spending the past few days with true crime.
Now I kinda want more cat girls. It seems Elisa Lam isn't all that mysterious and the Cecil hotel isn't any more death filled than other hotels. Elisa was most likely suffering from the effects of not taking her prescribed antipsychotics and it was a tragic accident.
But I did learn of a serial killer that was basically right around the corner from Mr sugar. Mr sugar even got some pics of the guy's old hunting ground. So I have that still going for me. |

Damn, the excitement that I get is running into people that I went to school with. Found the trope of the popular high school kid trying to relive this glory days by being a football coach, and the quiet shy girl working in a strip club. |

Man, I got suckered into reading Light Novel and web novels that have become popular enough to become manga. At this point, I look to see if whatever I'm invested in has a light novel or web novel that I can read. |

I feel I have to share my two cents somewhere about everything going on in Minneapolis (and surrounding areas once again) since I live there. I am so incredibly saddened and pissed off to hear about this once again happening in the place where I’ve called home for the last 4 in a half years, but in a way I can’t say I’m surprised or shocked to hear that this has happened yet again, which is heartbreaking that we’ve reached that point. As a nation, we are so beyond fucked with no real progress in police reform. This will continue to happen because systemic racism is so deeply rooted in this country. Black people dying at the hands of cops is commonplace. I’m Hispanic and even I fear every time I have interacted with a cop in my life because you just never know.
I’m currently in South Florida visiting family (which is a whole another melting pot of bullshit as I’ve seen many “Blue Lives Matter” flags around town) but I can say from friends up in MN that things are once again getting tense, on top of the ongoing trial, it’s teetering on very thin ice. I know some of us will continue to talk about it and do our part to hopefully change things, but only a matter of time before the press moves on and a sizable portion of the population goes back to living their lives as normal because it doesn’t affect them, likely due to being the “right” colored skin in the US. I fucking hate this. I’m so tired of reading up somebody else dying at the hands of senseless cops. I’m sick to my stomach at the videos of reckless behavior by police officers, when simply put white people do not experience the same treatment.
Sorry for the rant. I am emotionally and mentally drained. |

This doesn't bring George Floyd back to his family and loved ones but justice has been served in the case of Derek Chauvin. This country has shared so many disappointment verdicts that my heart was actually set on disappointment. I'm so relieved.

Just poking my head in so yall don't think I just up and disappeared . A little update with me; I finally am getting rid of my horrible, toxic job and will be starting a new job at the end of the month! I'm nervous and excited to get out and work but financially it is a smarter move and seems like a more cozier place to work (plus I have a friend there who can help me too). Also, I have been working a lot on my anime/manga review blog which I will hopefully launch this Fall (so I've been watching TONS of material and reading a lot, that's probably 90% of my time when I'm not working but I love it. I think about you guys a lot BUT I'm honestly creatively tapped out so I won't try to force myself back on here just for the sake of it. I don't mind popping in and chatting with you all once in a while though :P Also will be going back to self study Japanese so I can improve. I have made a few long term goals and one of them is being a translator so eventually I'd like to travel back to Japan and work there for a few years and live so I'm working on that goal now. My other is to also be able to make my blog earn revenue and be able to basically be my income and so I get to work at home and be a potato (but in actuality watching a lot more anime and reviewing them lol). I know that one is A LOT harder to achieve but send me your energy please so I can keep it up! Also I'm leaving in a few weeks to go to Ghana for my sister's wedding. I love her and all but I would be lying if I didn't think that having a wedding in another country is not just stressful on the bride and groom! Annnnn that's all from me! Also, amazing roleplays that have been posted here lately :) My inbox is always open and if you have me on other social media feel free to reach out anytime, I don't mind! |
