Skyline is the fourth single from album, ‘Vineyard’. The song was written by Radio Vine and Jay C, both artist wrote the record together in the recording session. The record was produced by Sir Zulla, that has produced several other records on the album. Carla Fields came to Zulla with a ‘centric, silky’ record concept that continues with the record concept that continues from ‘See You Soon’. Skyline’ follows up the precious record. ‘Skyline’ is a soft pop with R&B elements that puts that butter on top of the alternative sound album. Skyline switches the emotion quickly from the other records from the album. Jay C brings his edgy and upbeat rap skill to the record, his flare pushes Radio vocally, being the diminutive voice in the record, his highly heavy tone in his deliverance that convinces the listeners of the poetry lyrics he delivers.
The collaboration came apart when Radio were looking for a male rapper to join her journey on the making of Vineyard. This was Radio’s first time working with an hip hop artist, Radio wanted that edgy raw environment of the record. Studio 60 put Jay C to the label for the record, before recording, both artists wrote the record together before being active in the process of production. The mixing idea of the airy background vocals was Jay C and Radio’s idea together, Carla thought that Jays vocal be mixed into Radio deeper register for both to be melodic connected during vocal arrangements. The two then recorded the record immediately sending it to Studio 60 for approval of the album. Studio 60 returned the approval of the record the same night it was recorded.
The rough draft of the song was heard, a few days later Studio 60 heard the final draft where they approved the record from the album.
ARRANGEMENT
The listeners let’s ‘See You Soon’ fades into ‘Skyline’. Radio jazzy and Smokey vocals are heavy in his vocal riffs and tone. The verse opens with a dark heavy riff that is shadowed by her undertones in the background of soft vocals that waters her falsetto perfectly in the middle of the mixing of the song. She uses her chest power in lift her deep notes into a higher octave, smoothly going to key to key in a chest register during the chorus. ‘ to deep you take over me, where were you’ is heard in the distance of the song, hearing as of the vocals are floating away, further and further. During the arrangement of ‘You wanna take me there’ in sang in a low head register that transforms into Jay C roaring hip hop verse, telling a fairytale story of romance and love, carefully challenges Radio adlibs in the background during the verse. Radio ends the record with beginning vocal arrangement similar to the beginning, she returns to her jazzy easy vocal, using her breathing to end each note with a whisper in a solid b register. She ends the song with a short falsetto with Jay C bass toned vocals are heard as well along with Radios vocals.
SKYLINE LYRICS
As my mind shifts like the waves,
My head full of rage
From the love who did to me
But at night is when I feel whole
I wanna be high like skyline
So up in the air
Smooth my thoughts
Let me rethink to
Smooth my thoughts
Skyline, so stare deep in my eyes
So deep and high
[take deep you take over me, where were you?]
Sky-linee
[Skyline]
Too high for me
Skyline
Above all the stars
Above all the stars
Sky-linee
[skyline]
Too high for meI can look down and see
Things fading
Including you
Skyline me to best of you
So high so high let me know you
A little crazy I suppose
No other girl can rock ur world
So high so high
You wanna take me there?
High like skyline
You wanna take me there?
High like skyline
High like sunrise.
High like sunrise.
[Jay-C]
Check me out baby girl, the skyline screams for me
Little do they know you literally scream for me
So you ain't got to worry, please go back to sleep
Cause all this mayhem was created by me
Therefore it can be extorted by me
And then I'll use my power to stop all your madness
So sit back, relax, and receive all this gladness
Cause I am truly, your, hero to be
What they don't know won’t really hurt em' right?
But they don't know me, and I could hurt em' nice
I found the dark side way pass the light
And the only way back is to murder the night
So I search for my foes, forever stay on my toes
Cause once you lose sight, that's when they send you a rose
I can look down and see
Things fading
Including you
Skyline me to best of you
So high so high let me know you
A little crazy I suppose
No other girl can rock your world
[Jay-C]
But when it's all said and done, there will be no drama
What up to karma, you said that you got me?
A couple years later, and you still ain't had me
My angels got my back, so whenever I ride
I'm taking off on wings of the holy divine
Skyline
Too high for me

Too high for me
I’ll love you today
But never the same
