"Don't Leave" is the first music release by NICOLE through an Spotify Exclusive deal pushed by long-time label 'Five Pesky Kids', the company behind "SYNCO", the girl group Nicole was part of until their halt in 2016. The deal with Spotify was announced prior to the release, though no further information was published until the actual release of the song in October 10th, 2021. The song "Don't Leave" was written and produced by Nicole and Jason Ingram, the former known for huge hits in the christian music scene.
"Don't Leave" is not a song Nicole was planning to release. The singer was working on Latin Pop music heavily influenced by the current market but also her own roots, for her debut album. Through the process of working on her album, Nicole was given the opportunity to work with Spotify for an exclusive release that would be pushed on the platform. Having accepted that deal, Nicole was unsure in what direction to go until Jason Ingram hit up the singer. Jason having found out about Nicole's christian upbringing and her having sung in church quite alot before, influenced the both of them working together and creating the, now released, song that is known as "Don't Leave".
"Don't Leave" is decribed to be at times wild, loud and vibrant, but then it becomes soulful & rich - a song perfect to embody the singer that is Nicole. known to be a great vocalist behind the endless pop releases with SYNCO. Nicole herself said that; "It's the first song I ever get to release and I wanted to make a statement. Life isn't supposed to end in the darkness, you will receive new life in you. After every tough journey, there will be light to reward you. You will be heard. I wanted people to realize that I am no longer who I used to be and yet I still am who I am. I changed, I received new blessings, I am healed."
