We're in the process of recording/remastering some songs so they don't ACTUALLY blow your minds, because if they did, we'd get sued to death.

See us at the Free the Innocent gig? How were we, we need to know. If we get good reactions, we shall definitely be making a follow-up to our demo. Who knows, we might make it big! What do you mean, no? Ah well, we're still working on new songs with Daniel The EC so fingers crossed.

The Cambridge quartet Mind have recently been attracting attention from the underground metal scene with their punishing and brutal blend of Hardcore, Industrial, Thrash and Nu-Metal.
In an interview that I recently did with them, they explained the humble start of their band and why they wish to join a major record label:
So, can you explain the first song off of the EP?Jason Smith (Vocals/ Guitar): The first song we did is actually a cover song. Most people won't of heard of it, so we wanted to give it some love and attention. It's called Wake Up and it's by a band called Shabutie.
Robert Edwards (Drums): I personally chose this song, because I just love playing it on the drums.
JS: Still though, I think Shabutie (now known as Coheed and Cambria) will be happy with what we've done with the song.
Aaron Del Potro (Lead Guitar): It was the hardest one to record, since we couldn't just do what we wanted with it. I had to learn the tabs off by heart, since no other website had the info on it, so, yeah it wasn't the easiest experience i've had in my life.
The bassist, Harry Thornton, turns up late, with a fag in his hand, but quickly apologises.
HT: I'm sorry i'm a bit late, bloody taxi drove me to the wrong place.
The second song, Never Say Sorry, is a bit more emotional. Why is this?At this point Jason's face drops.
JS: I only wrote this a few months back, after coping with the death of a friend. I loved that guy and I was seriously thinking of packing it in, but then I wrote down on a piece of paper what I was thinking, and it suddenly became poetry. In all honesty, the best thing you can do to cure sadness, is to write it all down and make it into a song.
ADP: I briefly met his friend hours before he died, at Jasons house.
Blackened Souls is a very brutal song. Can you explain?HT: Aha! I love this song.
ADP: You would, you wrote it...
HT: Still, I just love the brutality and ferocity of it. I wrote it when I was extremely bored and had just watched Most Haunted.
JS: That bloody song killed my throat.
And the final song, Dulce Bellum Inexpertis, is 8 minutes long and seems to make no sense...JS: Heh... I was a bit high while writing that. I think though, it can hold deeper meaning if you know what I mean. It's a bit like Lateralus was for Tool. No-one got it, but by thinking they got it, they became clever.
ADP: I don't get it.
JS: Shut up.
With this ferocious System Of A Down meets Gallows sound, Mind could make it big... but will they?
