“Hello,
It’s with great pleasure that I’m here giving a year-end message and a relief in so many ways to be saying goodbye to 2020. However, on a personal note on behalf of Studio60 Records and Tric-Jam Records I can say that I will have so many fond feelings looking back on what has occurred throughout the previous year with the label. From the initial purchase of an iconic record label so drenched in a beautiful history of being associated with some of the great records and artists of recent times, I had hopes that we’d be able to steady the ship and put our own plans into place with the company. But I was truly blown away by the efforts of everybody associated with the label, much like the music industry as a whole it felt re-energised and with a new and adventurous purpose waves of artists began producing great work.
I cannot take any credit for the success that the label has seen in the past year, this is absolutely and fundamentally down to the insanely talented roster of artists and the people that work within the management structure of the company as a whole. Not only have we managed to bring in some exciting new artists but we’ve also seen a lot of artists return this year and return on incredible form. There are many things to look forward to in this new year, not least of all we’re delighted to confirm that touring plans are beginning to be put in to place which will enable our artists to showcase their talents on the road, the life and soul of a musician is attached to the road and live performances and this return is so important to the music industry as a whole. So we cannot wait to take the show on the road and will be supporting whatever structures that need to be put in place in order for this to go ahead safely and successfully. We’re aware that there is still a long way to go, but it does feel like there’s something to hope for just beyond the horizon.
On top of this, we’re delighted to confirm that a relief fund of over $30 million has been shared out to associated worthy causes within the industry in order to help artists, venues and services continue to operate when they’re able to open their doors once more. We’ve seen a positive impact that this past year has had on the output of music following a couple of barren years and has re-invigorated the industry completely, we hope that this continues in the new year and beyond. But with this has come the shutdown of the live industry and the touring industry, some venues being forced to close permanently. This will hopefully change course in the new year but of course as we’ve seen everything can change on the turn of a dime. We will be looking at ways in which we can support similar causes in this new year and ensure that the relief and support received last year, doesn’t stop.
Of course on top of our own relief efforts, we know that artists throughout the label have championed and supported many causes throughout the year and must take the time to let you know that your individual efforts in making the world a little more comforting in the toughest of times is greatly appreciated. We are proud to be associated with you all, your morals and heart for the things that truly matter is exemplary.
So with that all being said, we are looking ahead to the new year. But below you will find a substantial list of releases from this year and minor indication of their achievements. In a fast moving industry, it’s sometimes difficult to find the time to step back and look at what has been achieved. Hopefully this will be a small reminder of that, all the while knowing that so much more beyond these releases and numbers has been achieved that cannot be measured and translated onto a list or database. I thank you all for your efforts from a professional stand point, but thank you all so much more from a personal stand point for helping create a better and more supportive world around us.
With respect and love,
Brianna Harrington”
