“Tahlia Amorim-Coelho” (born June 17, 2003) is a Portuguese singer, songwriter also known by her stage name of “Tahlia”. Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal she is a successful popstar in her home nation, however she is set to make her first steps into the worldwide music scene in the coming months as she begins to launch her career outside of Portugal. Her music is a blend of contemporary pop music, with elements of electronica and Latin rhythm, influences of RnB and Hip-Hop have also occasionally blended into her music. She’s considered one of the most famous celebrities in her home nation of Portugal having been releasing music and being famous since the age of 17. At the beginning of 2023 she left Portugal and moved to Malibu, California having signed a recording contract with Studio60 Records and is set to launch her music career in the United States.

Tahlia Amorim-Coelho was born on June 17, 2003 in Lisbon, Portugal to a Portuguese mother and a Dutch father, she was raised primarily by her mother and her maternal grandmother and the three lived in her grandmothers home in Lisbon throughout Tahlia’s childhood and into her teenage years. Her father would occasionally revisit into her life from time to time throughout the years, but would sometimes go a couple of years without seeing or hearing from him. Her mother and father met in the summer of 2002 and had a relationship that lasted into the winter of 2002. Her father worked at a nightclub in Portugal during the holiday season that year which is where he met her mother and the two started a romance which resulted in her mother becoming pregnant in the winter of 2002 eventually leading to Tahlia’s birth. However, by the time Tahlia was born, her father had returned to his home country of the Netherlands and was no longer involved in a relationship with her mother which effectively led to Tahlia being raised by a single mother. This gives Tahlia a heritage of Portuguese and Dutch, a heritage that she has considered important to her throughout her life.

She is an only child and showed a love of music early on in her childhood, she was swayed by rhythm’s and beats rather than melody and tone from a young age which manifested in her discovering a love of dance which overtook her early music love. Throughout her later childhood years and into her early teenage years she had a preference for dance and joined several dance groups both in and out of school. Eventually that early love of music found it’s way back to Tahlia and she eventually started to blend the two passions. She was a highly sought after talent both as a dancer and singer/performer and signed with Portuguese record label ‘Som Livre’ at the age of 16. She released her debut single “Dance Comigo” which found it’s place in the top 10 in Portugal and followed this up with a string of hit singles that catapulted her into the spotlight in her home country, her debut album “Com Amor” was released at the age of 17 and went straight to number one and was followed up two years later with “Indomável” which cemented her status as one of the most famous faces in Portugal. Her music was noted for it’s energetic sound and expressive lyrics and her live performances on TV found her occasionally causing some controversy for being considered too risqué, this led to her having a reputation as a polarising figure in the media with constant attention on her dating life.
Following the release of her debut album and subsequent tour, she took part in “Let Love Rule” a dating reality show in Portugal which she ended up being a runner-up, despite her loud and expressive personality, audiences found a charm to her which led to her being considered a favourite from the early stages of the show, narrowly missing out on winning the entire show.

Following the release of her second studio album and subsequent tour, she made the decision not to renew her contract with ‘Som Livre’ and begin to set her sights on expanding her career aspirations beyond Portugal. She gave her management the task of finding her a place to live in California and moved to the United States in the summer of 2022 and in early 2023 it was confirmed that she had signed a recording contract with ‘Studio60 Records’ and was set to launch her career as a popstar in the United States with the Portuguese native set to record and release music in English language for the first time in her career.
