Shellshock is a high-energy, female-fronted power metal band with a dynamic dual-vocal approach. Leading the charge is Sofia Lindgren, whose soaring operatic highs and gritty growls bring intensity and fire to every performance. Complementing her is Elias Håkansson, the band’s bassist and male co-vocalist, whose deep, melodic voice adds a darker, more brooding contrast to Sofia’s power. Together, they lead a powerhouse ensemble: Johan Nyström delivers blistering lead guitar solos, while Markus Lund reinforces the sound with crushing rhythm guitar. Isak Dahl brings an epic, atmospheric layer with his cinematic keyboards, and Kajsa Åkerlund commands the drums with relentless precision. Shellshock’s sound is a thunderous fusion of speed, melody, and cinematic grandeur, centered around themes of warfare, resilience, and survival.

Sofia: We're new on the scene. We've got a back catalog and hopefully we'll have an album out soon.
Elias: If you're familiar with Sabaton, you may think we're their....cousin, I guess.
Sofia: Yes, that's one way of putting it.
Johan: I've met those guys. Good folks.
Elias: Me too actually.
Sofia: Yes, yes but this is about us. Not your personal picks Johan... Anyway. Here is our debut single, Reluctant Heroes.
Elias: This song was one of the first we wrote as a band.
Sofia: Yes it was. We had a few things bouncing around and then Johan showed us this film from the 70s. Reluctant Heroes. A good film in fairness.
Isak: I loved it! It was a fantastic film!
Sofia: I actually penned the words straight after. I hit a few blocks on our other tracks and was working them out but this just flowed off the page.
Johan: We hope you enjoy this track!

Reluctant Heroes - Shellshock

Upon a hill a world away,
A patrol awakes with the break of day,
A historian sent to lead from the front,
No combat experience, just orders above.

The patrol heads out, to set up their O P,
To seek and observe, their enemy,
Stay hidden, stay quiet, unknown to to others,
As hard as they try, they're soon discovered

Made their stand
On Hill 6 5 6,
Take command,
Destroy the bridge,
Blood in the sand,
Strike from the ridge,
Made their stand,
On Hill 6 5 6

Historian with a wealth of knowledge, taking command,
The tricks of Napolean, utilised by modern man,
Alexander the Great, still influencing battle,
Cut off the supplies and ignite the barrel,

The wooden bridge burns, per Murphys plan,
The foe bewildered, attacked in their land,
Histories follies, turned around to their gain,
Sought and destroyed, and lived on in fame

Made their stand
On Hill 6 5 6,
Take command,
Destroy the bridge,
Blood in the sand,
Strike from the ridge,
Made their stand,
On Hill 6 5 6

[Solo]

Made their stand
On Hill 6 5 6,
Take command,
Destroy the bridge,
Blood in the sand,
Strike from the ridge,
Made their stand,
On Hill 6 5 6

Mariko: I'd listen to this while kicking ass in battlefield 1942.

Gretchen: I think that game can legally buy liquor in the USA now.

Mariko: I got good at it and I refuse to learn a new game.

Markus: Yeah that game was one of a kind at the time. I think we all played it ourselves too!
Sofia: I didn't?
Johan: Really?
Kajsa: Wow. You missed out.
Johan: Yeah you really did... Do you guys play anything else? We're big fans of Enlisted when we're at home. Hell Let Loose is good too.

Ashford: Scandinavian and Metal just seem to go so well together, doesn't it? ... Wait, are you actually Scandinavian? I'm just making assumptions based on names. Either way, this is incredibly refreshing to hear in 2024. It's some true variety within the industry. There was a time when a more heavier scene was the norm in this industry. As much as I love the contemporary stuff we hear today, it's always great to hear something so completely different to the mainstream. Variety is what this business is all about, it's lost an element of that over the years but young bands like yourselves gives me hope that the embers of a bygone era are still there, somewhere! I'll be looking forward to seeing more from you guys but this is a refreshingly exciting debut!

Sofia: Oh yes it really does. We do indeed hail from all over Scandinavia and all sorts of music taste. Our next two singles are already being polished up ready for the debut EP we are planning. Hopefully it will be out by the end of this year.

OOC: I chose to keep the Scandinavian persona's as the Suno AI I use for tracking actually have some fantastic Scandinavian accents. And in real life, I am a massive fan of Amaranthe's vocals. They are my main inspiration for this RP.

Johan: Why thank you so much! I am personally delighted you loved it!
Isak: As Johan said, such high praise. We do certainly hope we can work together some day.
