Title: “Orion II”
Artist: Orion
Release Date: December 22, 2024
Recorded: Studio 60 Recording Studios, West Hollywood, California, USA
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop, Trap, RnB, Soul
Length: 56:12
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Orion II” is the sophomore studio album by American rap and hip-hop group ‘Orion’, coming two years after the release of their hugely successful debut album “Orion”. The album comes with high expectations following on from their debut run and with the first three singles released from their latest offering breaking into the top three of the singles charts it appears that the group are on track to please their expectant fanbase once more with their latest release. The album was supported by three pre-release singles “All Accelerator, No Brakes”, “Heart of the Jungle” and “Money Maker” all released throughout 2024 and their final single from the album “Kingdom” (feat. Tisha Jackson) dropping a day prior to the albums official release signalling the final promotional release for the record in a more reserved rollout plan than their previous record. On top of the single releases, it’s expected that the trio will be announcing a handful of shows in early 2025 in support of the record, which many fans and analysts believe could be the last time we see the trio working together for a while.

Their has been constant talk of the group wanting to explore individual ambitions following the release of this album and has even been openly spoken about by each member of the group, among these hints from the band themselves, the online speculation appears to hint at the idea of recording together and all agreeing on the same vision and plans for music is almost an impossible feat and certainly one that is unlikely to continue regularly beyond their latest studio record. It’s been said by Brayton “Bellows” Carter in an interview that they have a contract at Tric-Jam Records for three albums and that it was always their intention to release two albums within a short period of time and explore other ventures before returning to the fold to eventually release the third album as their final effort together some years down the line.
In the build up to the recording sessions for “Orion II” there was constant speculation that the record could be shelved and that a combination of different styles and ideas mixed with ego and outside interference could see the group scrapping plans for the album and going their own separate ways. Talk of Brayton “Bellows” Carter wanting to move away from the style delivered on their debut album and push for something more ambitions and grandiose in theme combined with Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen releasing an extremely successful solo E.P, signing with management company Dahlhouse Entertainment and launching his own record label on the back of a close friendship and advice from RnB and Rap juggernaut ‘Rum’ only served to enhance the talk of disagreements and dissension within the ‘Orion’ camp.

However, the trio re-convened in late 2023 at Studio60 Recording Studios alongside producer ‘Young Khalifa’ and set to work on their sophomore album, with the first single “All Accelerator, No Brakes” being dropped in February 2024 and a performance at the first ever UMA Awards in early 2024 signalling their intentions, with a well-received performance and their lead single hitting the top of the charts it was clear that the drama surrounding the group were very much exaggerated and their continued to work hard in the studio crafting the elements of their next record. It was quite a wait for the follow-up single as “Heart of the Jungle” was released in September 2024 and continued on the heels of the lead single, peaking at number one and serving it’s purpose to continue to build anticipation for the album which they continued to state would be coming in 2024 despite the short time period left in the year. Once final album pre-release came in the form of “Money Maker” and peaked at number three as the group confirmed that the album was fully completed.

The album was recorded in its entirety at Studio60 Recording Studios in West Hollywood, California from October 2023 through to November 2024 and was produced by the group alongside producer ‘Young Khalifa’. Set for release on December 22, 2024 in all formats, the twelve song record will mark the second official studio album from the rap trio.

“All Accelerator, No Brakes”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“All accelerator, no brakes on this shit
We’re running on a different level out here these days
Feels like we’re training for this like it’s a motherfuckin’ prize fight
We don’t let this slip
Motherfucker we don’t let this slip, right?

Gloves on, chin up, walk tall, king up
We take this shit serious
Despite all the rumours and the cheap talk
We got a commitment to the legacy
That’s why we’re in the booth when the time comes
We could all make the paper on our own name
But we’ve only delivered the first act of a three act play
This shit is our legacy, this shit is our story
We got our plan to take it to the highest of heights
And motherfucker when the time’s right
We gonna burn it all down ourselves
In a blaze of glory

Never a comeback
Never departed
Stuck in your brain
Or we were stuck where your heart is
Never forgotten
R.I.P to the real ones
Gone too soon
Bitch we were barely gone
Take five, timeout
Back to your corners
Let’s not have a blow-out

Call it a rivalry, call it what you will
We call it a brotherhood
Long live the king
We’re individuals with different ambitions, different goals
Different lifestyles and different roles
Some are built to play the game and hustle to the top
Climb over the bodies of former comrades
To get to where they want
Others are built to keep it humble
Work on their craft
Say some shit that means something
Not generic shit
With it’s name on a golden plaque

Motherfucker, I’mma kill this shit anyway I choose
Ya’ll were smiling when we showed up
Cause everybody thought you were the one that was built to break through
But you took your feet off the gas
And these other fuckers started passing on the track
Didn’t wanna keep the engine running
So I went out there armed
Fired the first shot and didn’t stop gunning
Only my loyalty to the pack
Was the one thing that made me turn back
And they can label shit at me
Like I’m not a team player
I’m a soldier that can’t take orders
But motherfucker, know I never once stepped aside
I never once cowered in the corner for a safe to place to hide
I mean this shit for real when I say
No brother left behind

Never a comeback
Never departed
Stuck in your brain
Or we were stuck where your heart is
Never forgotten
R.I.P to the real ones
Gone too soon
Bitch we were barely gone
Take five, timeout
Back to your corners
Let’s not have a blow-out”

Title: “Money Maker”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 4:44
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Money Maker”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“Yeah, I got a mountain of money and shit is just pilling up
Took a year off to show the old me some love
Now we back in the business and we back in the game
Let the net worth keep rising along with the fame
And motherfucker we like to make an entrance, we like to keep these fuckers on their toes
When we decide to step up, we keep it relentless
We blow the roof off when we in the building
Let em talk the shit they gotta say, cause we don’t fuck with feelings
Rumour mill swirling cause our name creates attention
When we cooking, shit hits a new dimension
Let’s talk about tension
I’ve been known to throw my fists
Yeah, I’ve been known to fuck their side chicks
Cheap thrills and a quick fix
They know how to find those nasty ones
Cause those pretty queens know how to suck a dick
They know how to play the game
They ain’t out here waiting til’ true love comes

Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker
Companies want me signing deals
Cause they all want the paper
Models and minor celebrities
Like to chill with players
Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker

Man, I’m the king of my castle and the company I keep
Got my Queen by my side and I keep this shit real
Don’t fuck with distractions, all of their vices and virtues
I keep my shit locked down in the studio, that place is my workroom
You know I like to keep it humble
Away from the spotlight
Keep my head down, grinding, working on my craft and my pride
Others like to shout it loud from the rooftops to the whole fucking world watching outside
But I’ll back my own talent up
Bury my doubters with a verbal apartheid
I’ll play along with their games
But I’mma wipe the slate clean
Have em’ running back to their drawing boards
Re-evaluating their scheme

Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker
Companies want me signing deals
Cause they all want the paper
Models and minor celebrities
Like to chill with players
Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker

Yeah, I can’t count all the models coming in from the valley
They all made up, fake lips, fake titties, fake butt
They like to fuck with their heels on, they say they like to keep it classy
But when I hit it from the back, they out here gettin’ nasty
I got two begging baby please fuck me and another screaming out that I’m her daddy
I ain’t got a spare moment to ask somebody to pinch me
I gotta take the opportunities that all of this success brings me
They weren’t queuing up before I made it
They just like to fuck
Cause we wild, young and famous
And the house in the hill got em’ vibing
The coke and the pills got us flyin’
The money and fame
Changing the game
Maybe this is my heaven
Cause it feels like they got me dead on arrival

Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker
Companies want me signing deals
Cause they all want the paper
Models and minor celebrities
Like to chill with players
Everybody likes to fuck with me
Cause I’mma money maker”

Title: “Heart of the Jungle”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 4:57
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Heart of the Jungle”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“In this business where the heat blaze, we chase life like it’s an arms race
Only ride or die’s by my side, ain’t no snakes
Gunning since day one and we stay winning in this place
They just keep on poking a bear that’s being caged
One final warning to keep your distance cause this bear don’t forget a face
Our passion got the power to destroy metal, better clear the motherfuckin’ barricade
Our shit cuts deep, keep it real, ain’t no fake
Never came here to take part, we came in to run the game
Respect ain’t given, that shit is earnt
It’s your choice to walk over the motherfuckin’ bridges that you burnt
Feel blessed that we let you back into the fold
We’ll feast on the meal but this Lion will throw you a bone
This is big boy shit
Go play with your toys
Young cubs, go run with the pack
While we run the pride
You can watch us make some noise

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes

Everybody fighting for the same space
Motherfucker, everybody cutting corners just to get ahead in the race
Ruthless shit is what it takes
Climbing over bodies just to get to the top
Don’t take a second to breathe
Cause they all out here gunning for your spot
I don’t give a shit for these games
Business meetings and inauthentic attempts to claim five minutes of fame
Ya’ll ever notice how these headlines don’t focus on my name
I step up in the booth
With my own reason to rhyme
I ain’t ever on that MVP shit like Lamar
Cause I take my team to the dance like Mahomes
And deliver every motherfuckin’ time
Not in this shit just for the praise
I’mma back up everything I say I am when I tell you I’mma win this race
It's nice to be liked, it’s nice to be blessed
But I want my name in history books
More than the critics respect

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes

I wanna stand at the top of the mountain
Swinging my dick
Knowing I can back up my own words when I start talkin’ shit
I’mma sweep up the awards, plaques and the status
Mansion in the hills, surrounded by bunnies and we fuckin’ like rabbits
Living life looking over my shoulder
Knowing the target on my back getting broader
But I’mma live a thousand lifetimes
In the heart of the jungle
I know I ain’t here for a long time
Walking on these landmines
Down in a blaze of glory
Fuck, this just my own story
Walking on these landmines
I ain’t here for a long time
But I guarantee it’s gonna be a good time

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes

Heart of the jungle, where the savages roam
With a target on our back, that’s just the life that we chose
Heart of the jungle, where only the strongest grows
We’ll be the last to survive, that’s just how this shit goes”

Title: “Monument”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 4:04
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Monument”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“Came into the game as a one in three bet
Flew under the radar in the first few years
Tore into the mainstream and blew the roof off
Climbed that ladder so fast, we got a view from the top
Rubbing shoulders with the big names
They got notifications blowing up my phone
Offers on the table
But I ain’t settling for the going rate, gotta keep building the kingdom
Cause I’m a motherfuckin’ heavyweight
We not just out here aiming for gold
We out here and we’re aiming for the throne
Bow down, bow down
Who’s the motherfucking king now?
Bow down, bow down
Who’s the motherfucking king now?

They out here building monuments
Statue’s in our name
Etched in stone from coast to coast
The likes of which we’re never destined to see rise again

They don’t ever see the rise
They don’t ever see the come up
They ain’t seen us humble
Hustling the streets for a few shotgun bucks
Life on the line on the daily
Got all kinds of people just desperate to jail me
Running the streets like a gangster
Secretly wishing it was over
Constantly looking over my shoulder
Couldn’t see the horizon
For the grey clouds
Couldn’t see my own bright future
Never would have expected that I’m a motherfuckin’ king now

They out here building monuments
Statue’s in our name
Etched in stone from coast to coast
The likes of which we’re never destined to see rise again

The darkest path is the one you must tread
To know that it’s not the destination that you will arrive in the end
I believe in my faith
I believe in my church
I believe in the hustle
Minimal requirement in order to be great
We our own biggest hype men
Arrogant, braggadocious, egotistical until the very end
But I see bright lights shining where there only used to be flickering in the mean streets
Endless dark blocks with just headlights glowing as they speed by, gunrunning
Cries of screams down dark alleyways
Hooded figures doing shit that would turn the purest soul to rage
Made it out alive through the hustle
Living luxury lives in a bubble
Motherfuckin’ king done found his Queen
Private jets and limousine
Versace drip and Hollywood scene
Shut out the shit that says we ain’t deserving this
Seen so much darkness
That we’ve fuckin’ earnt this bliss
Most of my closest friends are turned to headstones now
Cause they never managed to make it out
So I’mma take every motherfuckin’ opportunity that gets thrown around
Let em’ build their monuments in our name
Bow down, bow down, bow down
The motherfuckin’ kings will see you now”

Title: “My Word”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop, Trap
Length: 4:26
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“My Word”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“I was a man of my word, when my word was all that I had
But I’ve got the whole world in my own hands now
So my word is worth all of it’s weight in gold
You can take that shit to the bank and make yourself a rich man

I ain’t fuckin’ around with half-truths and hyperbole
Ain’t the greatest we’ve ever seen
There’s so many that paved the roads for these city kids shooting for their dreams
But we out here running up the numbers
Facts and figures don’t lie
We the big hitters and we’re shooting for the sky
Ain’t fuckin’ around with rivalries
We take care of our business in the booth
Put that shit on record
Because we only deliver truth
And we don’t just fuck around in the rap game
We take it to the mainstream
Cause we out here making our name
Legacies and legend status
We’re playing this shit for fun like Jordan in practice

I was a man of my word, when my word was all that I had
But I’ve got the whole world in my own hands now
So my word is worth all of it’s weight in gold
You can take that shit to the bank and make yourself a rich man

I don’t fuck around
I’mma hold it down until someone better comes around
Golden era ain’t in the rearview
We surrounded by giants but we ain’t standing on the shoulder of em’
We side by side, shoulder to shoulder
Dropping acclaimed shit like an eighty pound boulder
Day one, we showed our intentions
Came outta the gates
Now we riding the waves with the greats
Basking in the love sent our way
Bathing in the tears of all those fuckers that send us hate
Don’t get this shit twisted, none of this was fate
We saw a spot opening up
Earnt everything with relentlessness
Ain’t no hesitate

I was a man of my word, when my word was all that I had
But I’ve got the whole world in my own hands now
So my word is worth all of it’s weight in gold
You can take that shit to the bank and make yourself a rich man

Fuck around and find out
I’mma be all that I say I am and then some
My track record backs my words up every motherfuckin’ time
So I don’t need to defend em’
Came into this biz on this relentless shit
Everybody thinkin’ we only ever gonna get one hit
Makes you wonder
How people failed to hear the thunder
Too many just happy to sit back
Bathe in the success of shit they did way back in the past
But I’mma keep myself on the frontline
Dodging bullets and stepping over landmines
Rapid ascension in record time
Ain’t no box they can ever put me in
Metaphorical or physical
Tryna cut me down must be so god damn miserable
Call me the new Wolf of the Industry, cause I’m not fucking leaving
Gonna keep delivering on my word
Get em all believing”

Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 5:08
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Kingdom” (feat. Tisha Jackson)

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen
Tisha Jackson
Bold = Tisha Jackson chorus / Italic = Tisha and Jadyn vocals

“We light the beacons, we light the flames
Build an army under your name
No surrender, no retreat
We start a revolution from these streets

Acoloytes and Anti-Christ’s, we flip the world on its head tonight
No more shelterin’ from the storm
Ain’t no armour for the bombs we’re throwin’
Molotov cocktails thrown around, streets on fire to the sound
Nowhere to hide
The lost will be found
We’re rebuilding our new kingdom from the ground

We gon’ start a revolution
Streets engulfed, call it friendly fire
We take this from the ashes and we gon’ build an empire
Civil unrest, yeah the natives gettin’ restless
We line up on the streets
Everybody grab your weapons
Gonna destroy what they built with no intentions of keeping it civil
We’ll rebuild from the ashes under a new symbol
Brand new generation
We overthrow the last regime
We gon’ destroy what they created
Lit match and gasoline
Streets engulfed, call it friendly fire
We take this from the ashes and we gon’ build an empire
We gon’ build a new thing
Call it what you want
We gon’ start a revolution
Welcome to your brand new gods

Revolutions in the air
The worlds on fire but we don’t care
Nowhere left for them to run
Tonight we’re taking back our kingdom
Revolutions in the air
The world on fire but we don’t care
Nowhere left for them to run
Tonight we’re taking back our kingdom

Our Kingdom, our kingdom
We’re taking back
Our kingdom
Our kingdom, our kingdom
We’re taking back
Our kingdom

The Queen’s home
Return to the kingdom
Since ’89 been a don
Brooklyn breed, the stuy’s very own
(Do or die)
By way of the ville
(Never ran, never will)
Rode this beat back in 2012
In ’24 they sampling my shit, all respect kings
(Still the Fiercest One in Town)
I call these niggas by the government
Shout out to Mally, Brayton, Jadyn
You would’ve thought we was raised in the same house the way we beefed at the UMA’s
Nigga I never wanted your spot
(Those my bros the shit been squashed)
Orion II sounding like the Album of the Year
Giving my tenth LP a run for its money
In the industry playing a game of chess while amongst a sea of bitches playing checkers
I been in this shit since I was sixteen
I took so much shit from the game
Brayton, it’s on you, bring it home!

Yeah, step into my kingdom, see me on the throne
Revolutionary mindset, ain’t doing this alone
Got the streets on fire, bow down, bow down, bow down again
We gon’ rise from the ashes
Like a Phoenix from the motherfuckin’ flames
Heroes and heretics
Saints from the streets
Pioneers and pilgrims
Monsters and the meek
Poets and punks
Searching for the steeple
We gon’ lead em’ into the Cathedral
The same way they used to lead em’ into war
It's a dangerous thing
This business of building idols
We gon’ ride this wave like a motherfuckin’ tidal

Revolutions in the air
The worlds on fire but we don’t care
Nowhere left for them to run
Tonight we’re taking back our kingdom
Revolutions in the air
The world on fire but we don’t care
Nowhere left for them to run
Tonight we’re taking back our kingdom

Our Kingdom, our kingdom
We’re taking back
Our kingdom
Our kingdom, our kingdom
We’re taking back
Our kingdom”

Title: “Bring Me Down”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 5:49
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Bring Me Down”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“Tryna solve my problems, looking at the bottom of a bottle
Lining the empties up like trophies
Forget the FCA’s and Grammys, mines weightless bottles of Jack and fifths of Henny’s
It feels like a long walk into the darkness, when you no longer give a fuck, when you’re out here running on empty
Throwing parties just for the company
Cause you know when you’re alone that’s when the darkness closes in
And you regret every past decision you’ve ever made
Every wrong path you’ve ever taken in
I sometimes feel like prison is the only place I’ll truly feel comfortable in
Cause on the outside, I feel the urge for suicide
That I just can’t seem to shake off
No matter how god damn hard I’ve tried
It just feels like a selfish way outta this shit that I’ve created
All the demons in my head that I’m anticipating
And all the flaws in my personality that just seem to keep me spiralling
I’d have turned down an even darker path
If it wasn’t for the ambitions of my brothers and a love for rap
I’d have let the streets take me
Allowed my blood to flow into the gutter
Or become just another statistic, just another felony
And I would have just laughed it off
Felt no real remorse
Joked about how the prison uniform kinda suits me
But inside I know I would have felt like a ghost
Knowing the struggle I have inside
Knowing all along who I am and who I truly wanna be

Tell me, is it worth it?
To live this life feeling weightless
To have to fight away those demons on a daily basis
Just drowning deep inside
Struggling to keep your own head above the surface
When all around you
They’re just losing theirs somewhere in the clouds
No trace of a single pair of feet on solid ground
Fuck, it kinda brings me down
But I won’t ever let it truly bring me down

I don’t fuck around with those same feelings, those same thoughts
We just wired differently though we share the same blood
But I understand the battles, the struggle and the never ending climb
I understand that when you tell me that shit’s getting darker
You literally mean that there is no light
That you feel like if you don’t do something drastic
You fear that this is you forever
That there’s no end in sight
And I may be selfish at times, and run around after my own goals
But I ain’t ever put my own ambitions ahead of my own bro
I know you say it’s hard to keep straight
I know you say it gets harder and harder every day
But I’ve seen how much you do
How much the rest of us rely on you
Yeah, It may get harder and harder every day
But I see you growing stronger
In every single way

Tell me, is it worth it?
To live this life feeling weightless
To have to fight away those demons on a daily basis
Just drowning deep inside
Struggling to keep your own head above the surface
When all around you
They’re just losing theirs somewhere in the clouds
No trace of a single pair of feet on solid ground
Fuck, it kinda brings me down
But I won’t ever let it truly bring me down

I know exactly how it is, reality creeps in and sometimes you have to face it
Look in the mirror and the reflection looking back at you
Ain’t one that you even recognize as true
I share the same thoughts, it’s not crazy to understand cause we share the same blood
And we’ve grown up in the same house, rocking the same brand
I know that the drink numbs the pain
And the weed and Xanax helps to distract the brain
And the girls, the gold, the cars and clothes
The houses, the clubs, the parties and sold-out shows
The fame, the pussy and the accolades
All help to keep the darkness away
It's temporary measures
It’s highs that don’t always last forever
And the comedown hurts bad
But I’ve never felt inclined to write that note
Cause when the darkness creeps in
I don’t wanna be in our church
With my brothers shoulders propping up the box
I don’t ever want my next time in church
With my brothers carrying me in

Tell me, is it worth it?
To live this life feeling weightless
To have to fight away those demons on a daily basis
Just drowning deep inside
Struggling to keep your own head above the surface
When all around you
They’re just losing theirs somewhere in the clouds
No trace of a single pair of feet on solid ground
Fuck, it kinda brings me down
But I won’t ever let it truly bring me down”

Title: “Free Speech”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop, RnB, Soul
Length: 5:02
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Free Speech”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

(intro)
“Mr. Moderator, Brother Lomax, brothers and sisters, friends and enemies: I just can’t believe everyone in here is a friend and I don’t want to leave anybody out. The question tonight, as I understand it, is “The Negro Revolt, and Where Do We Go From Here?” or “What Next?” In my little humble way of understanding it, it points toward either the ballot or the bullet.”

Everybody’s got a problem
Ain’t nobody got a way to solve em’
We just tryna lift our head above the surface
But everybody walking on a minefield, walking around nervous
We askin’ politicians, what’s the purpose?
What’s your service?
In the fight for justice, anti-hatred, anti-racist
How long do we have to keep on going
Before we just revert back to our corners and find a towel to throw in
And yeah, I got some status and money now
But they tryna hustle harder when they try to bring you down
Don’t want you getting too big
Where they can’t control you any longer
For them it’s all about power
For me it’s all about hunger
The 21st century prophet says it best
And I’mma beat it from my motherfuckin’ chest
Don’t work harder, work smarter

What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me
What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me

Everybody’s got their opinions on this plight
Some are all too eager to defend their country and point to their rights
Hate speech is still free speech
So what more do you fuckin’ want from this
Tired of all this shit
I’ve heard it all so many times before
They say we’re reckless, say we’re helpless
Say we’re a drain on welfare
A drain on healthcare
See us as trouble just to be eradicated
Unless you make it out
Break out, make it rich and famous
Then they want your verses, then they want your paycheck
Want your faces on the cover of magazines
And all over the front pages
To show that you can make it big in the land of the free
Whoever you are and wherever you come from
This is what America means to me
Even when you fucking make it out alive
No shackles on your ankles
But knowing you’ll never truly be free
So fuck your agenda
I don’t give a shit about your censor
You can hear my free speech

What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me
What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me

What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me
What’s it to be?
The ballot or the bullet
There’s no correct answer, to me

I ain’t ever felt like a valued member of society
They all see what they wanna see
Cause they see me draped in gold, smoking weed on their TV screen
They don’t know that I went back home for six months
When my brothers were out here building their own legacies in this Hollywood shit
I was putting money back into my community
Helping fund a housing community for the homeless
Cause the government was all too happy to let em fall through the cracks, man they’re soulless
Putting money back into the school that I barely spent time in
Cause now I’m older I understand that education is the route outta the cycle we keep on fuckin’ living in
And I’ve volunteered at the soup kitchen
Cleaned the streets that my family continue to walk in
And yeah I got my own demons
Every day I’m battling
But I’m tryna be a good man
I’m sometimes drawn to the good vibes, the good highs
A lil’ of the molly and percs
I like to get fucked up but it’s only myself that gets hurt
Don’t cover my own name in dirt
I know my flaws draw the bate
When they talk, the only speech I ever hear is hate”

Title: “Nightmares to Dreams”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop
Length: 4:37
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Nightmares to Dreams”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“Man, I used to pray for times like these when I was stuck in that system hustling the streets
Just trying to fake it until I could finally say that I made it
Got outta those doldrums rubbing shoulders with lifetime fuckups
Now it’s so fucked up, cause I’m rubbing shoulders with the rich and the famous
I’m fighting daily over a different type of war these days
Over rumours and stories linked to my name that don’t seem to ever go away
I guess that’s the price of fame
Where everybody wants a piece of the designer cloth
Everybody wants to put their hands a little too close to the motherfuckin’ flame
And man, I know this world has changed me
I always knew it would
I definitely ain’t the same me
For better or worse, I can’t tell if it’s for bad or good
But I know if I kept on down that path
That path that I was travelling on before all this crazy shit popped off
I’m either in prison or dead
And fuck, I guess that’s just the trade-off
To have to deal with it
The tiny little details of bullshit
Can’t have a private life
Bitching over the smallest inconsequential detail
Like fuck, I gotta hold a grudge against someone I ain’t ever fuckin’ met before
Just cause they planted stories in the press
About parties, drugs and the crazy bitches that been sleeping in my bed
They spilling details over the internet
About how we fucked everyplace but the god damn bed
I guess they gotta get their bag too
Can’t help that they’re a sucker for giving head
And if I’m being honest
I think they know all of my motherfuckin’ vices and they cum prepared
But fuck it, I don’t regret a single thing I’ve ever done
I don’t regret a single thing I’ve ever said
This life has me blessed it seems
Motherfucker, these days I’m even turning my nightmares to dreams

Nightmares to dreams and dreams to reality
Street kid out here grinding in California, tryna turn this City into his principality
Since day one, we been rising up the hierarchy
Motherfucker I guarantee we never asked for the crown
But we raised the bar so god damn high, they advising us not to look down
And the fruits of the labour are so fuckin’ sweet
Expensive tastes, keep me grindin’
Target on our back, everybody out here tryna compete
Only one or two that I’d consider on our level
The rest of them just seem to be stuck on half-speed, never moving past third gear
Uh, shit, yeah, don’t get it twisted
This ain’t no diss track, or some fucked up hit list
We’d rather be surrounded by greatness
But I can count them on one hand
And still have a couple fingers spare to flip the rest of them off in the rearview
It's got so bad we no longer competing in our own lane
Cause we just out here sweeping up
There’s only three names that I fuck with, three names that I’d put alongside us
Billy, Kidd and Younghood
Treating their work like art, like a labour of love
We sitting at the head of the table
Wondering who’s next in line to move up the hierarchy
To turn their nightmares to dreams
And dreams to reality

I don’t fuck with that shit, you can put us in a box but we’ll fight our way out of it
As soon as you get a little success, sitting top of the chart
They seem to think because your work appeals to the masses that it doesn’t qualify as true art
But I ain’t even in this for the glory and fame
I’m in this for the love of the game
Won’t go down in the history books like another Tupac or Van Gogh phenomenon
I’mma rack up the records and adulation while I’m still here
Not after I’m dead and gone
But it’s a barren land out here in the hip-hop culture
We’re left picking the bones of carcasses like a motherfuckin’ vulture
Everything’s cyclical, it’ll come back around again
But I don’t think there’s gonna be another like us that show up and clean up like us again
And I’mma be the one to say it
The hip-hop scene is dead
So we’re taking our business to the mainstream
Rubbing shoulders with the best of em’
And in a few years there’ll be an underground revolution bubbling up
Listing ourselves as influences and tryna compete with us
I hope they blow the doors off
Tear us apart at the seams
Turn their own nightmares to dreams”

Title: “Heavy Crown”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop, Trap
Length: 4:42
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Heavy Crown”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“So relentless on my main goal
Made a promise to bring as many of them with me, straight up
Cause I was taught when you achieve success you spread the wealth, that’s real love
The hits I’m putting on my name are different
These days I’m tasting champagne, no more spitting blood
No more taking shots to the stomach
No more southpaws coming in jacking my jaw
Far from the life that I lived before
But real talk
I hope ya’ll are listening
Cause the crown wears heavy just like their cross is a burden
For every win I have
There’s three losses, infinite hurtin’
Temporary happiness
Temporary highs just to try to make the pain stop
Used to love the attention
Now I just wanna fuck with the lights off
So far from when I used to want to be king of California
Now I retreat back home
Back to the block on the corner
Back to my people
That need me more than a donor
I won’t get sucked into the games they have to play
I ain’t like my brothers (shit)

You gotta taste it to know that it’s a bad apple
I’ve had a glimpse of that life
But I’m heading home, safe travels
Time is too short
To play for these cheap thrills
I gotta move on
Cause this time just don’t stand still

The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden

Uh, yeah, they say I can’t love anybody
More than I love myself
Can’t even bare to stick around long enough to let something real manifest
Lone wolf, yeah that’s what they like to say
But I got trust issues
This wolf’s been bitten by too many motherfuckin’ snakes
And I don’t fuck on that serious shit with just any bitch
I don’t showcase my private life on social media for a quick dopamine hit
I keep it low-key, privacy
Private booth, private yacht, private jet
I live in luxury
Freshest prince with a promotion
They call me the motherfuckin’ king of Bel Air
Man, I’m capable of love
Just out here it’s hard to know who to trust
I’d rather stick it in for the rush
No commitment, just lust
Work hard, play hard, work hard, play hard
Work hard, play hard
Cause the crown wears heavy
The cross is a burden
Lone wolf shit
Means it’s only me that I’m hurting

You gotta taste it to know that it’s a bad apple
I’ve had a glimpse of that life
But I’m heading home, safe travels
Time is too short
To play for these cheap thrills
I gotta move on
Cause this time just don’t stand still

The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden
The crown wears heavy, the cross is a burden”

Genre(s): Hip-Hop, Soul
Length: 4:56
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Shadow of the Steeple”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

Bellows
Boa
Circuit

“Church bells chime, we were the kids singing in the choir
Empty streets all around
Holy communion in our Sunday best
Raised so strongly in our faith
Now we find ourselves in a different type of church
I carry god with me every day of my life
But I don’t follow the rituals and clutch my holy bible
It'd be too difficult to say the lords name when I’ve heard it screamed back at me so many times
My lifestyle has changed so much to the extreme
That I had to drop that part of my life
The only time I ever find myself on my knees
Is when she spread her legs open wide
And I can’t deny that pussy taste so much better than holy wine

I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple
I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple

I don’t really fuck around with that shit anymore
I’ve seen so many of the great ones taken in brutal fashion that I’ve stopped keeping score
I’ve had too much bullshit that don’t involve me end up at my front door
Fuck knows what I need in my life right now
But I know that the only God I was ever taught to worship ain’t really been around for me lately
In my lowest moments when the darkness comes to take me
I look around for my closest friends
And face the reality that he’s already taken the best of them
So I hit the bottle, rack a line
Get fucked up
Every single time
So when my own time’s up
Just know I don’t really give a fuck

I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple
I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple

Church bells chime, we were the kids singing in the choir
Now we’re rapping on records and living out the dreams on which we aspired
Luxury lifestyle, private jets and poetic licence
Black ties and cocktails gowns
My Queen got that pretty mouth, thick thighs and an ass that bounce
But I still fuck with my religion
I pray to the lord every night since I was young
I’ve had those same doubts
Cause I’ve fucked up enough times in my life to know there’s a way out
I’ve found holy redemption in the church
But I don’t believe in every single thing that the bible says
That shit is just a roadmap
To keep me on the right track
To keep me full-filled and blessed
And pay it back in double to those that have less

I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple
I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple

I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple
I’ve got a lifetime of sins
Under the shadow of the steeple”

Title: “Idol Worship”
Genre(s): Rap, Hip-Hop,
Length: 4:35
Label: Tric-Jam Records
Songwriter(s): Brayton Carter, Jadyn Ghalen, Jamal Ghalen
Producer(s): Orion, Young Khalifa

“Idol Worship”

Brayton “Bellows” Carter
Jadyn “Boa” Ghalen
Jamal “Circuit” Ghalen

“Motherfuckers, just close your eyes so you can try to imagine this
Ain’t none of us thought it would ever get this big
Everybody around keep telling us we can, so we fucking did
Went from hand-me-downs to rocking the finest clothes, Yves St. Laurent and Gucci shit
Posters on our wall, idols
Now they hitting up our phone
Looking for a hit
Knowing we can’t be rivalled
Don’t get that shit twisted though
Target on our back
Bounty for the one that makes the killer blow
Ain’t no real way to gain survival
Anyway that they can, they build you up just to try to bring you down
But I’m a fighter, got the heart of a Lion
I’ve done some wild shit
But I guarantee I ain’t ever get violent
Ain’t ever force someone into some shit that they don’t fuckin’ vibe with
I ain’t ever tryna bring anybody down
Always wanted to bring as many people up with me
Bring everybody along for the ride
But fuck, this idol worship shit
Might be a little more than what they make it
Everywhere I look
I’m just searching for a safe place to hide
Is the fame really worth it?

Everywhere you look it’s idol worship
Easy to fall into the trap of being rich and famous
Bring you up higher
Just to watch how far you fall
Ain’t falling for shit
Until there’s no idol worship at all

The status and wealth comes along with the fame
Camera bulbs flashing constant, strangers screaming your name
I never got into this for that shit
I looked at the legacy of the greats that did it way before I ever fucking did
They had something to say with their voice
They affected the culture
Motherfucker they affected the noise
GOATS in all aspects
That’s a phrase that gets tossed around too easy
Bitch I’m Wu-Tang forever
I’m screaming but ya’ll just don’t hear me
I’ll leave the attention to the others
Cause that status stuff just don’t appease me
Wait till’ you see what I can do
Once we wrap this shit up
And we start allowing individual visions shine through
Oh shit, another shot fired
I love my crew
But I’ve got my own desires

Everywhere you look it’s idol worship
Easy to fall into the trap of being rich and famous
Bring you up higher
Just to watch how far you fall
Ain’t falling for shit
Until there’s no idol worship at all”
