Label: La Familia
Written By: Amy-Jayne, Melva Griffin, Katie Stephenson

Singles From Album: I Don’t Mind (#7), Drove Me Crazy (#1), Selfish (#5)

“Evolution” is the long awaited third studio album by American singer-songwriter Amy-Jayne. The album is the follow up to her 2014 album “Cosmic Love” which was a commercial failure, causing the 33 year-old to be dropped by her former label Titanic Records. Amy later signed with La Famila and released two stand alone single “Strange Love”. Which reached #7 in the charts and “Tik Tok” featuring Cameron Jacobson which became #1 single. However neither of these singles appear on the album. The album was written by Amy-Jayne herself for 9 of the tracks the remainder of the tracks on the album where written by former The Dolls members Melva Griffin and Katie Stephenson respectively. Production for the album was handled by various producers including. Clarence Clarity, Chris Lyon, Danny L Harle, Jonathan Gilmore and Kyle Shearer. Across the 13 tracks the album has a total run time of 54 minutes and 35 seconds.

The album was scrapped, re-written and recorded various over times its years of its production as Amy wanted the album to be her best yet and didn't want to disappoint her fans old and new. The album's original writing and recording process began back in 2016 when the star was now recording as an independent artist when her previous recording contract with Titanic Records was cancelled following the of her second album. Amy later abandoned the album and took time away from writing and recording and the spotlight as a whole to give birth to her second child in 2018. After signing with La Familia the album was picked up and finalized after Amy was happy with it. To datethree singles have released from the album the #1 single "Drove Me Crazy” and two top 10 single “I Don’t Mind” and “Selfish” which charted at #7 and #5 respectively.

The album has received generally favourable reviews from critics. Neil Z. Yeung stated that “Evolution” is "an expertly crafted gem", praising the album for showcasing Amy's powerhouse vocal range as well as her personality. Jason Lipshutz of Billboard noted that it was an "an amazing body of work", with several tracks containing genre Amy isn’t known for which according to Jason was a fresh of fresh air. He highlighted Amy's whistle notes on "Perfect Destination" and concluded that "Hold On (Just Wait)" was a stand out track out of the 13 tracks found on the album. Writing for The Guardian, Michael Cragg praised the album for having an impeccable melodic infrastructure and cited that this is easily Amy's best album to date. Cragg acknowledged that originality was a key priority for Amy and stated that there was "something so fantastic about this album, it’s so infectious and head banging at the same time too". Michael Chaiken of Republican-American wrote that the album had great hooks, comparing it to songs released early in the Amy-Jayne's career. Saeed Saeed noted that every track in Evolution contained "colossal hooks, well written and a little dark side in many tracks", which were accompanied by Amy's killer vocals. He described Amy as Creating a true masterpiece with this album" before concluding that the album was "anything but subtle and that every songs hook slaps you right across the face".

Writing for Spectrum Culture, Jeffrey Davies criticized the overall jumbled sound, is it a pop album, is it a metal album or something in between, in addition to the staggered single releases from the album, stating that "Naked" and "Selfish" were "out of place" in comparison to the rest of the album. However, he commended Jayne's strong vocals and artistic talent for creating a dark eerie feeling as well as bringing back that infectious almost punk sound of the mid 00s , Helena Wadia of Evening Standard wrote that while Amy was skilled at "writing catchy tunes", she criticized the album for its use of "Metal music" and stated that it was way more out there than Amy's previous bodies of work. Nicholas Hautman of Us Weekly noted that the album's tracklist had two distinctive sides one was "more pop-driven and carefree", while other tracks presented a more dark, metal, melodic sound.

Title: Drove Me Crazy
Length: 3.08
Genre(s): Nu metal, Hard rock, Pop, Avant-pop
Label: La Famila
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity, Jonathan Gilmore
Taken From The Album: Evolution

“Drove Me Crazy” is the second single lifted from American singer-songwriter Amy-Jayne’s yet to be released third studio album now rumoured to be called Evolution. The track is the follow up to her hugely successful comeback hit last year “I Don’t Mind” which reached #3 on the charts and saw Amy take a new more experimental direction with her music and “Drove Me Crazy” is know different. “Drove Me Crazy” was written by the 32 year-old herself and was produced by Clarence Clarity alongside Johnathan Gilmore with the former working exclusively with the singer on the entirety of her new album, so with this single and previous single being quite contrasting in sound it showcases the overall direction which her album is likely going to take.

The song showcases an array of genres that we have never seen from the singer before as the song is a Nu Metal, Hard Rock, Pop and Avant-Pop based track which sees the singer showcases her incredible vocal ability, lyrically the song talks about being crazy about a significant other and being somewhat obsessed. The track has a total runtime of just three minutes and eight seconds making it a much short track than the aforementioned lead single. “Drove Me Crazy” will be released worldwide on the 15th of January through La Familia and distributed to all major streaming services.

Critical reception to “Drove Me Crazy” has be mostly negative to mixed with many critics not quite understanding the sound direction taking with this new single. James Mackfall of DigitalSpy wrote in his review. “Okay so single #2, not quite sure about this one if I am honest this might be a bit too far out there for her fans to really get behind, like don’t get me wrong it’s a great song for an already established metal act, but for Amy this just seem so different”. Jenna Graham for NME wrote a favourable review of the track. “Come through Amy let out that inner bad bitch rock star out, this song has such an early Evanescence vibe and I am living for it, do I think it will confuse her fans yes, but will it bring a whole new audience to the singer absolutely and that surely can’t be a bad thing…solid 8/10”. Fabian Jose of Idolator also wrote a less than favourable review. “Colour me confused who’s idea was it to rebrand Amy as a rock/metal singer, I was confused by her last single and this one confuses me even more was this her managements decision or maybe Payton’s decision, this single could definitely be career suicide for Amy just when she was just making a comeback 2/10 for me can’t see this performing well.” Another positive review came from Johnny Carson who wrote in his hugely successful music blog. “Wow strangely I can vibe to this, this actually is catchy and punchy sure it’s totally different from what we are used to hearing but it’s a breath of fresh air to see Amy just enjoying her music and exploring so much with his new record, I STAN it! 9/10”. Gemma Khan also wrote a mixed review to the single. “Is this a great early 2000s sounding metal track absolutely, do I think this screams Amy-Jayne to me, absolutely not she’s known for big upbeat dancy bops and this is just so polar opposite to that, the one saving grace is that killer powerhouse voice that she possesses that still manages to punch through in this song, I’ll give it a 6/10 it’s would of had more success for an already big rock act but could struggle against the rest of Amy’s discography”.

Amy Talks “Drove Me Crazy” wrote:
So single #2 “Drove Me Crazy” I told you guys I was going to shock you with this album and ya girl wasn’t kidding, this honestly was such a fun track to create, it’s so different from anything I have anything I have ever released or recorded in the past and yes this could fail miserably but for me creating music is a form of art and I just wanted to have fun and enjoy myself making this album and this song was definitely one of those tracks, plus who doesn’t have that inner rock chick in them, I also feel like those this song does have a harsh sound to what is normal for me, if you pay attention to the lyrics the song is extremely relatable because who hasn’t been crazy about someone in their life, so single number 2 is out there I hope you enjoy this new side to me!

LYRICS

Now that I got a taste
I think that I'd suffocate
For every second that you aren't by my side
But now I'm stuck at the gate
Of Lucifer's estate

I fell in love with a boy I met in Hell
Thinking about all the things
The way you pull my strings
I love the way you turn me on
He ain't Hades but I'm the Queen
I'd do anything
So that I could take you home

He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah

Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking blow all the ashes down
Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking go crazy for you now

Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking blow all the ashes down
Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking go crazy for you now

Now that I got a taste
I'm gonna hallucinate
I think I am tripping off your love
Started playing your game
As you got me in a checkmate
Now you are the King and I am the pawn

Thinking about all the things
The way you pull my strings
I love the way you turn me on
You're the King so let me be your Queen
I'd do anything so that we could rule the world

He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah
He drove me, drove me crazy, yeahah

Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking blow all the ashes down
Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking go crazy for you now

Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking blow all the ashes down
Ring around the rosie
Pocket full of posies
Imma fucking go crazy for you now

Go crazy for you now
Blow all the ashes down

Title: Selfish
Genre(s): Pop, R&B, Avant-pop, Electropop
Length: 3:21
Label: La Familia
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Kyle Shearer, Chris Lyon
Taken From The Album: Evolution

”Selfish” is the third single to be lifted from Amy-Jayne’s third studio album ”Evolution”, the single is the follow up to her hugely successful single ”Drove Me Cry” which gave Amy her third #1 single. ”Selfish” is set for release on March 21st 2024 through La Familia. The track was written by the 33-year-old herself with production being handled by Kyle Shearer and Chris Lyon. The track has a total runtime of three minutes and twenty-one seconds.

The track sees Amy back into the more pop realm but overall still remains in the rock/alternative territory that her previous singles from this era have had. The track discusses being selfish in a relationship but takes it from both sides of the relationship, being that both Amy and her significant other are both being selfish within the relationship, but ultimately leads to Amy thinking that the relationship ultimately is toxic and is not worth fighting for.

Unlike her previous single ”Selfish” has received positive reviews from music critics with many stated that this song is a return to form for the single despite her previous single still topping the charts Emma Barton of NME wrote in her review. “Ok this is much more an Amy track than her last single it's just poppy enough to feel like an Amy track and honestly the melody of this track is fire!” Ben McAdams of digitally wrote in his review which he gave the track a 9/10. “Honestly when her last single hit #1 I was super surprised but it shows she has got one heck of a fan base, this track however definitely has a much more radio friendly sound and my god has she come to slay with this one, from the lyrics to the production this is just too notch.” Erika Maxwell of Idolitor wrote on her review. “Okay this isn't another #1 single I am gonna riot because this track totally deserve to be a #1 hit, this is funky despite the lyrical content and that's what Amy has become known for during this era, honestly this is her best era of her career and that's a feat in itself considering she's now over a decade into her career, this is pop/alternative perfection I am so here for it.” Damien Ross wrote in his 8/10 review. “Damn this era is exploring so many different genres and sounds I am worried this album which these singles have been released from is gonna be a complete clusterfuck, but “Selfish” should have totally have been the lead single because this track is everything and more from from the lyrics to the melody right the way down to her vocal delivery it's just perfection, will it confuse some of her new found fans after her metal infused previous single maybe, but old school Amy fans are gonna eat this up!”

Amy on “Selfish” wrote:
Okay single number three brings me back to a more neutral pop sound but still has a little rock vibe, this track wasn't easy to right…if you couldn't guess by the lyrically content it's about the breakdown and selfish nature of my relationship with Dominic, but I didn't want it to be a sad soppy breakup track, I got together with the producers and decided to make it an upbeat breakup anthem, so that is it guys single three and beware my album is going to start streaming online very soon!

Selfish

We fell in deep, deeper than the ocean,
We rise in sky, higher than the atmosphere,
Our loves ruin, faster than a bullet,
Our mind blank, darker than the night,
You know what we do when we hold hands,
Only the hands hold but not our hearts,

We know what we always sadly do
We torturing us thats what we do
We wants to seperate yes we do

Am I selfish for wanting me time?
Am I selfish for loving me more?
Am I selfish for trying to fix us?
Are you selfish for wanting your time?
Are you selfish for loving me less?
Are you selfish for saying you're lonely?
Guess we both selfish

We float on water, lighter than air,
We fought on the daily, harder than the rain
We lost forever, longer than the Zelda
You know what can we do to survive this,
To survive we need to look at our credentials

We know what we always sadly do
We torturing us thats what we do
We want to seperate yes we do

Am I selfish for wanting me time?
Am I selfish for loving me more?
Am I selfish for trying to fix us?
Are you selfish for wanting your time?
Are you selfish for loving me less?
Are you selfish for saying you're lonely?
Guess we both selfish, yuh

So why we're leavin? There's gotta be a reason
So why we're quitting? There's gotta be evidence
You are the fire and I am the gasoline,
We're clearly, not meant together

Am I selfish for wanting me time?
Am I selfish for loving me more?
Am I selfish for trying to fix us?
Are you selfish for wanting your time?
Are you selfish for loving me less?
Are you selfish for saying you're lonely?
So who's the selfish, is it one of us?! (yuh, yuh)
So who's the wrong one, is it you or me?! (hm, hm)
No the selfish is the one who is selfish,
We both just trapped by thought that's called selfish

Sel - sel - selfish
Sel - sel - selfish
Sel - sel - selfish
Selfish does not define us,
But what we does define selfish

Title: Screw You
Length: 3:24
Genre(s): Nu Metal, Alternative Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity

“Screw You” is the third track on Amy-Jayne’s third studio album, the track was written by the 33 year-old herself and was produced by rock/metal producer Clarence Clarity…similarly to her #1 single and album opener “Screw You” is an aggressive angsty Nu metal and rock thriller with heavy drums and guitars. Lyrically the track discusses tell a man to basically do one in a relationship and get the hell out of her life in a very very aggressive manner, the track keeps with the theme this far as a song about a breakup or love and this is definitely a break up anthem heavy metal style.

Amy wrote:
So track three is “Screw You” this one was written a while ago and was actually intended to be a track for miss Katie Stephenson of The Dolls as she originally sang the demo many years ago and then I turned picked it back up because I wrote it and turned it into what it is you hear today, it is about a certain ex of mine I think we all know probably who and basically I told him to go fuck himself and get out of my life and he did, even up and abandoned his daughter he hasn’t even made the effort to come and see her, so for all the woman out there with deadbeat dads as the fathers of your babies this one is for you, scream this song at them, tell them to go and royally fuck themselves because ladies we deserve better!, so here is track number three “Screw You!”

SCREW YOU

You always make out that your the victim
When really I am the one who is being victimized
You treat me like im worthless and not special
So why should I have to stay in your life anymore
Because all I get from our bond is pain and hurt
Im through with you lies and im done with the game
You mean nothing to me anymore, so get a life

Screw you and your petty games
All you do is hurt the people who are closest to you
But you don't see the destruction that you cause
You make everything a challenge and im sick of it
And I am sick of you and this pathetic ego of yours
So get your act together or I'll be walking out
Screw you and screw us you mean nothing to me

Screw you and your petty games
All you do is hurt the people who are closest to you
But you don't see the destruction that you cause
You make everything a challenge and im sick of it
And I am sick of you and this pathetic ego of yours
So get your act together or I'll be walking out
Screw you and screw us you mean nothing to me

You always try to make out that you care
But really your just laughing at me on the inside
You think your being funny with your jokes
But little do you realize that your jokes become personal
Every time you say im sorry but do you really mean it
No, I didn't think so, so we are done screw you

Screw you and your petty games
All you do is hurt the people who are closest to you
But you don't see the destruction that you cause
You make everything a challenge and im sick of it
And I am sick of you and this pathetic ego of yours
So get your act together or I'll be walking out
Screw you and screw us you mean nothing to me

Screw you, screw you, fucking screw you asshole
Screw you, screw you, fucking screw you asshole
Screw you, screw you, fucking screw you asshole
Screw you, screw you, fucking screw you asshole

Screw you and your petty games
All you do is hurt the people who are closest to you
But you don't see the destruction that you cause
You make everything a challenge and im sick of it
And I am sick of you and this pathetic ego of yours
So get your act together or I'll be walking out
Screw you and screw us you mean nothing to me

Title: Perfect Destination
Length: 3:25
Genre(s): R&B, Synth-Pop, Rock
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Marco Roux

"Perfect Destination" Is the forth track for Amy-Jayne's third studio album. The track is a dark and somewhat haunting track written by Amy and produced by Marco Roux the mastermind producer behind the overall sound of her new album. The track is about being the perfect place for a man to be. The track has a run time of three minutes and twenty-five seconds and is one of the only tracks to showcase Amy's true vocal range and her first song in history to feature whistle notes from the star.

Amy wrote:
Ah track four, Perfect Destination this was a fun one to right…I mean what lady isn’t the perfect destination for a man to be right ladies?, this one is fun and actually one of the more pop sounding records on the album but still has a rock under tone within the production so I hope you guys like it…this is perfect destination!

PERFECT DESTINATION

You give me temptation.
I wanna be your attention.
Just tryin' be your obsession.
Let's forget our nation.
Cause I'm your only perfect destination.

Everytime you knock on the door.
The paradise get shaken of mine.
Even the walls feel the despair, now
And now my cloaks are torn ,baby.
So I appeared naked to you
Lord knows the man you are
Stripped me up from inside an' out.

Is it really all what you want?
Cause' there is no theory
what you an' I really want.
(you an' I really want.)

You gives me temptation.
I wanna be your attention.
Just tryin' be your obsession.
Let's forget our nation.
Cause I'm your only perfect destination.

The velvet sheets rollin' down the windows.
Wine stained a bit of my pillows.
Tattooed your name in my right hand.
Cause I don't want be your dirty little
One night stand.

Wake up the next day.
You, holding my waist.
Rooms scented like you.
Dress still, painted with last night scene.
Thrown beyond my reach.
But at least we got some feet.

Is it really all what you want?
Cause' there is no theory
what you an' I really want.
(you an' I really want.)

You gives me temptation.
I wanna be your attention.
Just tryin' be your obsession.
Let's forget our nation.
Cause I'm your only perfect destination.

We may toil around like best buddies.
But only you knows what we are.
World thinks they know us.
But I bet they don't.
And I promise they won't.

Cause,
You give me temptation.
I wanna be your attention.
Just tryin' be your obsession.
Let's forget our nation.
Cause I'm your only perfect destination.

Isn't me the perfect Destination
You cried for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You thrived for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You strived for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You died for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You cried for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You thrived for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You strived for.
Isn't me the perfect Destination,
You died for
Cause, I am your only perfect destination.

Title: Nobody Compares To You
Length: 3:15
Genre(s): Alternative Pop, Pop-Rock
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Marco Roux

“Nobody Compares To You” is the fifth track on Amy-Jayne’s third studio album and keeps the album in its more commercially friendly lane. The track overall has an alternative pop and pop-rock song with some killer guitar riffs in the production. The track was written by Amy herself and discusses the topic of having a man that doesn’t compare to anyone else in the world. Production for the track was once again handled by Marco Roux who definitely added more of a rock spice to the track than he did on the previous track on the album.

Amy wrote:
”So track five is Nobody Compares To You” this one was written a while back when I thought my boyfriend at the time was the man of my dreams of course as we all know that didn’t end up being the case…but I feel like anyone can relate to this track because I feel like everyone man, woman, non-binary, or trans person can relate to being so madly in love that you think that nobody compares or comes close to the one that they love…so here is Nobody Compares To You!

NOBODY COMPARES TO YOU

I'd rather be alone than be with someone else.
I'd rather tell them all and not keep it to myself.
I wish I could tell you how much I think of you,
But I can't

I only want you
Nobody but you
Cause no one makes me feel the way you do

Baby boy tell me what you want from me
I swear that I'll do anything
Just to show you that I love you
And no one but you
Nobody compares to you
Nobody compares to you
Nobody compares

Every night before I fall asleep I think of you
And every morning that I wake up too
All I want is to have you near me
But you aren't

I only want you
Nobody but you
Cause no one makes me feel the way you do

So baby boy tell me what you want from me
I swear that I'll do anything
Just to show you that I love you
And no one but you
Nobody compares to you
Nobody compares to you
Nobody compares

Title: Hold On (Just Wait)
Length: 3:20
Genre(s): New Wave, Alternative Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity, Marco Roux

“Hold On (Just Wait) is the sixth track on Amy-Jayne’s third studio album and once again keeps the album in the more pop-sounding realm with hints of the more edgy style of the album. Written by the 33-year-old herself and was produced by Clarence Clarity the mastermind behind the major bulk of the sound found on this album as well as Marco Roux who produced the previous track found on the album. The track overall has a new wave and alternative pop sound and talks about not responding to a man who is so eager for the attention of Amy and she is telling the to hold on and just wait for the right moment and when that moment is right then we shall pursue the relationship or whatever it is that he is ultimately after.

Amy wrote:
So track six is “Hold On (Just Wait)” this one is one of the more recently constructed song on the album and it is about a guy whom met a girl and now is relentless pursing her but she isn't yet ready for that type of relationship or commitment and is asking him to hold on give her some time…take it slow…so I feel like anyone who's had a girl or boy pursue them non stop can definitely relate to this one, so here it is track six “Hold On (Just Wait)

HOLD ON (JUST WAIT)

You called me,
I didn’t pick up
I told you I’d be there
But I ain’t there yet
You wonder if I love you,
I don’t know what to say
The timing isn’t perfect
But I’m trying
I’m getting there
Just hold on

My past isn’t fixed
I’m working through it
I’ll be there
When the timing is right

Hold on.... Just wait a little more time
When it’s right.. It’ll feel right
Can’t rush the feeling
Hold on.... I’ll love you more than you love me
Hold on a little longer now

If you ask me how I’m doing,
I’ll say I’m okay
But I don’t know yet
I wanna be the one
But I need to find some inner peace
If I say I love when I’m not sure
I’ll be lying for both of us

I’m trying
Can you meet me halfway?
I’m not ready yet
But when I’m ready
I’ll be there

Hold on.... Just wait a little more time
When it’s right.. It’ll feel right
Can’t rush the feeling
Hold on.... I’ll love you more than you love me
Hold on a little longer now

Title: Go Home
Length: 3.22
Genre(s): Alternative Rock, Pop-Rock
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity, Marco Roux

"Go Home" is the seventh track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and turns the album back to the harder, dark rock realm the track was noted by critics as one of the standout tracks on the album because of it amazing appeal when being performed live because it has that massive stadium feel, it was also noted as one of the track from the album that showcases just what an absolute powerhouse vocalist Amy is. "Go Home" was written by the 34 year-old and discusses the topic of growing up not really caring about what was going on in the world or really caring about the life that you are leading and just going with the flow, production for the track was once again handled by the production duo of Clarence Clarity and Marco Roux whom worked extensively with Amy for the majority of the album, the track has a total run time of three minutes and twenty-two seconds.

Amy wrote:
So track seven is "Go Home" this one was actually quite fun to write, a lot of the album was hard to write because of the very personal messages behind a lot of the tracks but with this one I just had fun and kind of went back into the past before I became who I am today. "Go Home" is sort of a past and present blend in a way because I still very much just go with the flow and not really get involved with drama or anything of that sort of stuff that pertains to the media side of my life...and I sure many people can relate to this song weather you are in the public eye or not...so this is "Go Home" enjoy guys!

GO HOME

When I was young I shone bright like the sun
But then I got older took my time and I got dumb
Everything came to me in time and I got lazy
Didn't have a clear picture but it was hazy
Didn't have a dream or a care in the world
But I had my green so I felt good

Going hard cause I won't go home
I'm coming up and I'm grown
Gonna make it on my own
Gonna be the queen, sit on the throne
Destined for greatness, I am the greatest
That the world has known
Gonna get all that I should
Is that understood?

Going hard cause I won't go home, oh
Going hard cause I won't go home, no

Back on the track, hello my name is Amy J
I'm coming at you harder than a heart attack
When you're 30, eat inside McDonalds knee deep in fries
It's only weeks later that you you you realize
Coming up from the ground way up to heaven
Like I had some rockets for wings 'pollo 11
Picture a scene in my mind that you have stepped in
It's so alien there is nothing that you reckon
its deep inside now look into my eyes
And you realize that this is this is why

I'm going hard cause I won't go home
It's time this light was shone
Upon the world and I am the whirlwind
That you've never known
Gonna shake it up, gonna make it rough
Gonna break it down gonna build it back up

Going hard cause I won't go home, oh
Going hard cause I won't go home, no

Going hard cause I won't go home
This world won't stop me no
Not once I've set my mind
Then I will accomplish goals
I desire, acquire, and then I let it go

Going hard cause I can't go home
I'm out here and I'm on my own
No one to look down on me
There's no one here to tell me no
No one to stop me, no one can top me
I am on my flow
Ladies and gentlemen, time for for rock and roll

Going hard cause I can't go home, oh
Going hard cause I can't go home, no
Going hard cause I can't go home, oh
Going hard cause I won't go home, no

Title: Naked
Length 3.02
Genre(s): Alternative Pop, Pop-Rock
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Kyle Shearer

"Naked" is the eighth track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and once again has a darker sound by does somewhat float into the radio friendly pop realm. The track was noted by critics as yet another standout from the album but for a completely different to why previous track "Go Home" was noted as a standout. Unlike the seventh track critics found this track to be much more listener friendly and a lot more Amy sounding in comparison to some of her more rock tracks which are present on this album. "Naked" was once again written by the 34 year-old and discusses how one does not just get into see someone naked by rather sees the person more than just skin deep and gets to see them for all there scars and flaws. Production was handled by Kyle Shearer who created the overall pop/rock blend that this track has too it. The track has a total run time of three minutes and two seconds.

Amy wrote:
Ah track number eight is "Naked" now this track is yet another double edge sword because I wrote it from the perspective of a friend who was talking about her friend but in reality this is very written about myself because for me I have a lot of baggage and scars that are more than just skin deep...I feel like the ladies will relate to this one because we are always judging ourselves and how others view us and we really shouldn't but for some reason us girls can't help it and it sometimes makes us do stupid shit...so here it is track eight "Naked"

NAKED

She buzzes through the door
Bye vibrates through the floor
Before I can steer my thoughts
She says Just sit 'em down

I wait on every black taxi ride
For her to blow me away
But every time she survived
I wonder how much I'm really payin'

I see more than just naked I can see through your mistakes
Doctor say you're worse for wear
Maybe you should drink some water
You're sleepin' on those nasty things
Wasn't free but wasn't 'spensive
She won't complain she's just glad I was there

I see more than just naked oh
I see more than just naked

Here she tears down the neck where she's hangin' n' scratchin'
And tears off every mark she ever wore for a date
She's hard-headed and brittle
Her tongue can kill or pop a whistle
She's why I really love bad days

I said I see more than just naked I can see through your mistakes
Every scar hurts her just a little
Those cuttings are never accidental
I said I'm sick 'n' tired of seeing you bare

Title: I Feel Alive
Length: 3.01
Genre(s): Disco, Dance-Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Chris Lyon, Danny L Harle

"I Feel Alive" is the ninth track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and takes the album into a complete three sixty spin as the track is quite possibly the most pop offering across the entire album as it has a strong disco and pop sound and this was noted by critics who found that this track felt really out of place in relation to the rest of the album, however the did note this is much more of a track that you would usually expect from the 34 year-old but in this body of work just did not make sense being surrounded by heavier and more rock inspired tracks. "I Feel Alive" was once again like most of the album written by Amy herself. The track discusses the topic of love and how you feel alive around that special someone in your life weather that be a boyfriend or girlfriend or even a best friend. Production for the track was handled by Chris Lyon, Danny L Harle who created the disco inspired vibe and made the album move into a new direction. The track has a total runtime of three minutes and one second.

Amy wrote:
So track nine is "I Feel Alive" and again for me this was for sure one of the easier track to write as its about love and how you can't truly feel alive or yourself when your boo or bestie isn't by your side...I feel like anyone who's ever been crazy in love can relate to this one or even if you haven't but want to feel that kind of love in your life then this one is for you guys, because love is a fucking amazing thing when it is real and true...so this is for the lovebugs out their this is "I Feel Alive"

I FEEL ALIVE

The day’s getting darker
Feeling colder without you tonight
Wanna get to know ya
Felt comfortable when you’re beside

Can’t stop thinking of you
I'm so dead alone by myself
can’t stop thinking of you
I'm so dead I can’t help it

I feel alive when you’re next to me
I can stand, I can finally breathe
I know that you are the one I need
Cuz I feel so alive feel so alive when you're next to me

With you I'm all better
I just need your hand on mine
You know that I love ya
I just wanna make you all mine

I can’t stop thinking of you
I'm so dead alone by myself
Can’t stop thinking of you
boy you make me feel so helpless

I feel alive when you’re next to me
I can stand, I can finally breathe
I know that you are the one I need
Cuz I feel so alive feel so alive

I feel alive when you’re next to me
I can stand, I can finally breathe
I know that you are the one I need
Cuz I feel so alive feel so alive when you're next to me

when I'm down or I'm up
you are there with me
when the sky is falling down
you are still holding me

I feel alive when you’re next to me
I can stand, I can finally breathe
I know that you are the one I need
Cuz I feel so alive feel so alive yea

I feel alive when you’re next to me
I can stand, I can finally breathe
I know that you are the one I need
Cuz I feel so alive feel so alive when you're next to me

Title: I Don’t Mind
Genre(s): Avant-Pop, Alternative Pop, Indie-Pop
Length: 4:27
Label: La Familia
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity, Kyle Lyons
Taken From: Shades Of My Heart (TBA 3rd album)

“I Don’t Mind” is the first single by American singer-songwriter Amy-Jayne’s third studio album “Shades Of My Heart”. It also marks her first single since the release of last single which was released in 2021 however it is unclear weather this single or her #1 hit Tick Tok will feature on her upcoming album or weather they will now stand as stand alone singles. “I Don’t Mind” also stands as the 31 year-olds first official single to be fully backed by the La Familia label. The song was written by the 31 year-old herself seemingly about a relationship that she is really happy in as the song has a positive message about love. The song has a run time of four minutes and twenty seconds making it quite unique as many songs in the modern era are short, sweet and to the point.

Musically “I Don’t Mind”, shows a completely new side to Amy-Jayne’s musical catalog as the song incorporates elements of Avant-Pop, Alternative and Indie-Pop genres which aren’t commonly Amy’s past bodies of work, she did however state in recent social media post that her new music was a completely new direction for her and this single clearly showcases that, the production for the single was handled by Clarence Clarity and Kyle Lyons, whom Payton called in to craft this new sound for Amy’s upcoming album so they are sure to be major factors in the overall production of Amy’s third album.

Critically “I Don’t Mind” has received mixed reviews from critics with many feeling that this new musical direction might be the wrong move for Amy’s career with many stating that the last time she shifted direction which was for her previous album “Cosmic Love”. The album flopped and failed to live up to the sales of her debut album which sold in the millions. Alan Blackman for 4Music wrote. “So she’s finally back, I was so hyped when she revealed new music was coming and sadly I am disappointed by this single it’s funky and boppy but it’s just not her, she’s a pop, R&B girl at heart…I am not sure Payton made the right call here for her to release this.”. Jessica Hussain for AllMusic wrote a more postive review. “I have seen many critic’s giving this song a lot of stick for being completely different from her other releases but isn’t that the point, she’s exploring and experimenting with her music and I personally find that so refreshing when musicians do that, this song doesn’t stray to far from her old music but having reviewed her entire third album first hand, I can say this album is full of experimentation and I Stan for it!.”. Dylan Ryker of Idoliator gave the song a rating of 1.5 out of ten. “Maybe this song will grow on me now it is groovy and I can see it doing okay but commercially I just don’t see it performing well which is a shame because we know that Amy is capable of producing #1 records but this song is a top 20 at a push.” Nicky Allman of Pitchfork ranked the song low in his review claiming that for a comeback track Amy could of came with something much stronger than this. “The song is very one dimensional and flat, where are her big vocal rifts and high notes this vocally is not a hard song for Amy or anyone to sing and maybe that is the point but highly disappointed by this effort hopefully once we get a chance to review her entire album it’ll have some of the bop we are used to from Amy.”

Lyrics

So excited, that’s how you get me babe, not trynna fight it,
Want you in every way,
I want you all to myself,
Want you to cover my mouth,
You know your just that good boy,
Always getting me so loud
Put it on me baby like you know you do
Make me feel it in my bones

So will you be mine?
Ill give you my time
Even forever, baby
I don’t mind baby
Give me all you have
Make me psycho for you
I don't mind, make me crazy
Make me love it
Make me drop it low
I don't mind

A little rough babe,
just throw me on your bed
switch it up babe
I’ll climb on top you instead
Put your hands on my waist
Sweat dripping off of my face
Love when we go at this pace
Love when you pull on my lace
When you put in work and make it a night to remember

So will you be mine?
Ill give you my time
Even forever, baby
I don’t mind baby
Give me all you have
Make me psycho for you
I don't mind, make me crazy
Make me love it
Make me drop it low
I don't mind

Let me work it on you
Pull you close bite on ya ear
Whisper sugar and spice into ya ear
Make you my bitch boy, make you hit it boy
Love the way you work
Makes me wanna twerk on ya
Twerk it, Work it, Drop it on ya
Make me psycho for you
Make me sweat, Make me wet

So will you be mine?
Ill give you my time
Even forever, baby
I don’t mind baby
Give me all you have
Make me psycho for you
I don't mind, make me crazy
Make me love it
Make me drop it low
I don't mind

So will you be mine?
Ill give you my time
Even forever, baby
I don’t mind baby
Give me all you have
Make me psycho for you
I don't mind, make me crazy
Make me love it
Make me drop it low
I don't mind

Title: Bond
Length: 3.06
Genre(s): Pop-Rock, Indie-Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Clarence Clarity, Kyle Lyons

"Bond" is the eleventh track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and once again brings the album back to the more rock sound that was missing from the previous couple of tracks. Once again critics felt like this track should of been the follow up to Amy's number one single and track one on the album "Drove Me Crazy" as the track has similar angsty rock sound and would of blended nicely as a follow up but of course a more radio friendly track followed that single. "Bond" was written by Amy herself and breaches on the topic of having a mutual bond and friendship over having similar experiences in life weather that be on a professional or every day level. The production was once again handled by the duo of Clarence Clarity, Kyle Lyons who created this angsty rock track and made it gritty and infectious at the same time. The track has a total runtime of three minutes and six seconds.

Amy wrote:
So almost at the end of the album now and we have "Bond" and this one was written about someone in the industry who has literally had my back since day one of my career and the have literally been my rock through the ups and downs and all the shit and I could not appreciate them enough because they are the good kinda shit, I feel like my fans can relate to this one because who doesn't have that one friend who has been friend since day one who's seen you dang ugly cry...so this is for those boss ass friends, this is "Bond"

BOND

Never thought this would be said by me
But I found someone who has the same problems as I do
We work together
We are close
We won’t leave any of us behind
We have each other’s backs
It was friendship at first sight

This bond strong!
The trust is strong!
Feelin’ it in my vein
I can feel this friendship taking off

What did I think to this new friend presented
Didn’t know how to act
Spent my life alone
Night is hard for me
The industry isn’t there for me
It’s out to get me

The bond is strong!
The trust is strong!
Feelin’ it in my veins
I can feel this friendship taking off

I never thought you’d be there for me
Even my family was shocked about you

The bond is strong
The trust is strong!
Feelin’ it in my veins

Title: Major Night
Length: 2:57
Genre(s): R&B, Alternative Pop, Synth-Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne
Produced By: Marco Roux

"Major Night" is the twelfth track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and brings the album back into a slightly more commercial sound but still has a angsty and rock undertone. Critics deemed this track as one of the weaker tracks across the album due to the fact that it has a similar message to some of the tracks on the album and they found that the track does not vocally do Amy justice as its by far one of the less vocally demanding track across the album also. The track was written by the 34 year-old and follows a similar message to "I Feel Alive" as it talks about love and having a major night around a loved one. Production was handled by Marco Roux whom created this upbeat synth and R&B inspired track to bring the album towards it close. The track has a total runtime of two minutes and fifty seven seconds making it one of the shortest tracks across the entire album.

Amy wrote:
So second to last track is "Major Night" and I don't wanna sound like a broken record but this one again is about that little thing called love and how you remember all the features of your boo and how its going to be a major night, now you can take that as an innuendo for something else if you so wish, again this song is totally relatable and this one was actually written about someone who is currently in my life...they know who they are. So guys this is "Major Night"

MAJOR NIGHT

I haven't been really nice
I'm left to my own devices
These lights are burning bright
Feelin' like it's a major night

The stars are what I aim for
Ain't nobody knocking at my door
So I gotta keep working for
These dreams that I adore

I don't wanna die
Don't wanna end up alone
I need to find you tonight
I don't know where to go
I need to fly my own
Even if it means I'm gone

The memories flash by
I can see it clear it clear this time
We danced 'til midnight
And didn't kiss goodbye

Forever, my love
I'll remember your sweet colors
It was a major night

So what we're gonna do tonight?
Feeling like it's a major night
Yeah what we gonna do tonight
These lights are burning bright

Baby I'm alive
I remember your perfect smile
That body's driving me crazy
It's like my soul was mesmerized by your movements, it was a magical experience
But, can we start to talk the talk
Can we start to walk the walk
I don't even know your name
But I'll never be the same

It's such a mystery
How good you look to me
Oh Lord, please save me!

So what we're gonna do tonight?
Feeling like it's a major night
Yeah what we gonna do tonight
These lights are burning bright

Hands in the air, bouteilles en l'air
All about living the moment
Just take my hand, we'll take a train
And go see the Eiffel Tower
We'll rise and shine, up in the sky
Thanks to Ms. Kylie Jenner
We won't be young forever
We won't be young forever

Title: Flirty Eyes
Length: 3:12
Genre(s): Pop, Dance-Pop
Written By: Amy-Jayne, Melva Griffin
Produced By: Chris Lyon, Danny L Harle, Amy-Jayne

"Flirty Eyes" is the thirteenth and final track on Amy-Jayne's third studio album and ends the album on a more poppy note than one might of expected and critics felt the same way however many of them noted that while this track once again does not quite fit with the sound of the album as a whole they could not deny that this track is one of the tracks that once again truly highlight just how amazing of a vocalist Amy truly is. The track was written by Amy-Jayne and former The Dolls member Melva Griffin whom is one of Amy's close friends within the industry and together they put their writing brains and came up with this track, the track once again talks about love or rather a possible love from someone who is giving you the flirty eyes and a club, bar or any other kind of setting. Production was once again handled by Chris Lyon, Danny L Harle whom produced the majority of the more pop and commercial sounding tracks on the album, however Amy herself get a production credit on this track as she help them to create and produce the track a first in Amy's decade long career. The track has a total runtime of three minutes and twelve seconds and rounds out the album.

Amy wrote:
Ah here we are guys the final track on the album and one of my personal faves because I got to really flex my vocals on this track and you know me by now for me its all about the vocals, again we talking about love or rather possible love when a guy or girl gives you them flirty eyes that we all die for and hope to get at least once in our life so I know you guys will be able to relate to this one weather your a man or a woman everyone has either recived those flirty eyes or has given someone those flirty eyes, so this is it guys final track "Flirty Eyes"

FLIRTY EYES

Saw you under neon lights your smile so bright
Dancing close in a sea of strangers feeling the night
Couldn't help but glance your way you're in my sight
Caught your eyes then I knew we'd be alright

Your laugh cut through the noise like music's charm
Every move you made could set alarms
Heartbeats racing fast like a fire alarm
One touch honey and I'm in your arms

Flirty eyes making sparks fly
In this crowded room just you and I
One look turning shy into sly
Flirty eyes tell me are you mine

Whispers between beats secrets we share
Your hand brushes mine it’s more than I can bear
Electric vibes in the air a love affair
Tonight we’re more than a simple pair

Flirty eyes making sparks fly
In this crowded room just you and I
One look turning shy into sly
Flirty eyes tell me are you mine

Club's closing soon will you stay
Let's keep dancing till the break of day
Flirty eyes lighting up the way
With you boy I'll never stray
