NEW RELEASE Lyrics Stole my car, They stole my car, Now that She's gone, I can't go far
Stole my car, They stole my car, Oh, bloody hell I'm no longer a roadstar
Woke up this morning, feeling fine, I was ready to roll Got my ticket to ride I stepped outside, but what did I see? An empty space, where my car should be!
Stole my car, They stole my car, Now that She's gone, I can't go far.
They stole my car, They stole my car, Oh, bloody hell I'm no longer a roadstar
She wasn't that cool But I need it bad A rusted old heap But it was all I had. I wish they'll bring her back, Without a scratch or dent, Oh why did they take it? Without my consent
Stole my car, They stole my car, Now she's gone, I can't go far.
Stole my car, They stole my car, Oh, bloody hell I'm no longer a roadstar
But I can't help but worry What if I never find her? She must be so scared Without her own beloved driver Will I ever see my trusty ride again? Or will she end up in some chop shop?
Stole my car, They stole my car, Now that She's gone, I can't go far.
Stole my car, They stole my car, Oh, bloody hell I'm no longer a roadstar
(Bridge) All these memories we had together Riding in Cornwall Vanished Now I'm stuck On the sidewalk I can't be transported And no more leather seats to sit on On foot, I sweat, with every step I take, No wheels beneath me I feel so... Pedestrian
(Instrumental break)
Stole my car, They stole my car, Now that She's gone, I can't go far.
Stole my car, They stole my car, Oh, goddamn! I'm no longer a roadstar
Outro : She wasn't just a car, she was my pride! From bumper to bumper, so much more than steel Smooth on the curves, she was my ride! She may not have been perfect, But she got me where I needed. Please send her back to me.
Quote:About “They Stole My Car”
On a sunny Brentford morning, Kevin Lysander, ready to conquer the world...or, more accurately, IKEA. stepped outside, ready to hit the road. Sadly he was greeted with the ultimate betrayal: an empty parking spot. Yep, his beloved (but admittedly rubbish) car was gone. That was very annoying because Kevin planned to buy ultra-heavy stuff.
So what did he do? He wrote a song, of course. And after that, he called the police. That’s where “They Stole My Car” comes in : a musical ode to frustration, freedom lost, and the eternal struggle of carrying too much crap home on foot.
Musically, it’s classic Scream Team. Kevin’s signature sung-spoken vocals bring the perfect mix of sarcasm and despair, while the heavy riffs from Toby and Chris hit like a flat tyre at the worst possible time. Jennie’s bassline drives the whole thing like a car that actually works, and Tom’s drums keep the chaos in check—just barely.
It’s annoying, it’s funny, it’s painfully relatable. And hey, it’s a lot more fun than an IKEA return trip. |
