Hello, my name is Robert Duli, and I'm here with the one and only Blaine Johnson.
Blaine: Thank you! It's great being here.
Q. So, how are you taking your new found success. A. Lovely. I'm finally gonna get that mansion I always wanted. You know, that waterside one in Venice?
Q. Tell me about the process of recording It's Only Time. A. Umm....well, obviously it was stressful. I think I sad this before in another interview. The first album is always the hardest because it is your first impression to the public. We had several quarrels about if that goes here or this goes there, but in the end, I feel we worked together well. I love Mike, Rob, and Tim. They are my best friends ever, and I couldn't have had better bandmates, even if I was to play with someone legendary like Hernandez or Fierce. No offense to those two individuals.
Q. Any inspirations? A. What kind of question is that? Of course there were inspirations. Big time influences were The Killers, Oasis, Coldplay, The Prodigy, The Strokes,MGMT.....um let's see who I missed. Matchbox Twenty, Smashmouth, Third Eye Blind, The Arctic Monkeys, Gorillaz. There's a long list my friend.
Q. Any other inspirations? Like girlfriends? :) A. Um...that's a little personal. I will tell you that "Gravity" was written about my ex-girlfriend of about 6 months. I thought she was the one. When we split, I went crazy. Later on, I thought we'd get back together. I was wrong. :(
Q. One last question, what is your goal for the next album? A. Same as this one. Hard work, and teamwork. |
Fuck yo punk ass! Da BBC Kingz gon' getchu! |
