Emily Williams and Ryan Ross Hernandez Engaged
PANIC! front man and media darling, Ryan Ross Hernandez has become engaged to his film/television producer and aspiring actress Emily Williams after a one year courtship.
Williams' looked delighted as she showed off her new diamond ring for the first time as they both attended a Gala for The Farm Sanctuary charity which both are involved with, in New York City last night.
The 33-year-old, from LA and Nashville native Hernandez, 22, started dating in May 2008 - three months after Williams' ended a three-year relationship and seven months after Ryan was dumped by his then-girlfriend, who were also in a three-year relationship, his PANIC! bandmate Ashley Perry.
Hernandez' representative Amanda Peterson confirmed the couple's engagement to People magazine on Saturday.
She said: "They're both thrilled."
Perterson declined to say exactly when the couple got engaged, but admitted it was recently. They are yet to set a wedding date.
Hernandez initially denied reports in November that the couple were getting married after he was spotted looking at engagement rings at one of the nations most expensive jewelry stores in Los Angeles.
Before he starting dating Williams last year, Hernandez was in a three-year relationship with his bandmate Ashley Perry, his only true relationship known to the media aside from many rumored flings.
Friends of the couple have said that they have no plans to get married anytime soon. One even went to stay that, Hernandez' had commented with them that earliest date will be in 2012.
Sources have said that neither of their families are happy with the engagement. Hernandez' family thinks he is acting too quickly and might just be doing it due to his well-known fair of commitment, while Williams' family just think that Ryan is too young for Emily and that the marriage will end up bad when the 11-year difference starts becoming considerable. Ryan's family and friends have also mentioned their dislike of the double digit age differ.
Although, both have stated many times that they don't see the age difference as an obstacle in their relationship. The only known obstacle, up until now that the media knows of, is of the fear of commitment both have expressed having in previous relationships.
To teenage girls it means that the PANIC! heartthrob will be off the market.
Hernandez' second album "Dark Secret Love" is released on December 28 and he is currently producing a movie with his now fiance, which he is starting in. His first venture into the acting world.
She just completed filming in New York for My Sister's Keeper, an upcoming film, and is now in Los Angeles producing her well known television show 'Scrubs', while Hernandez' is getting ready to go to the United Kingdom, where he will spend the next two weeks touring with his band. But will just be in time to celebrate Christmas with Emily and her family.
As of Saturday, neither have commented on their engagement to the public.
