Not a huge fan of this album, but it's ok. I actually like World Demise a lot, never got all the hate for it. World Demise (and, to a lesser extent, The End Complete) drops most of the speed and intensity of their first couple albums. It sounds like a groove album. It is fun enough to listen to, though. Obituary were never fast. Their lack of obsession with playing fast is pretty much why they are one of the best death metal bands.
They've always been a mid-tempo, groove type death metal band. |

They've always been a mid-tempo, groove type death metal band. Yeah, I suppose, but 'Slowly We Rot' and 'Cause of Death' are undeniably less groove-based. Mangled - Cannibal Corpse (also, Mastodon are not death metal) |

All I know is I like Meshuggah from DEI up through Catch Thirty-Three, but I have trouble with the albums either side of that. The EP I really is everything I want from Meshuggah. |
