Okay, so basically post your situation your in and who you have to get presents for and then suggest something. Hopefully this will work quite well if everyone shares ideas :)

Right, basically my girlfriends birthday was last week, and I didn't spend much on her only a lickle bit, but now it means I can't get her the present I planned to because I had to take the money out of the money I was going to buy her Christmas present with which now means that I have to juggle enough money for her present cos my dad won't help me out, getting my mums present, my dads present and my little brothers present.

Mum (aged 34; likes Kasabian/Muse music):
Dad (Aged 43; likes Queen/The Clash music):
Girlfriend (Aged 14; likes clothes obviously, dangling wrist bracelet weird things, different types of music no real pattern):
Little Brother: (Aged 7; likes Batman, Doctor Who, Star Wars kinda stuffs, not sporty, not particularly intellectual aka dumb):

Well don't it's too expensive and comes out after Christmas. I just felt like posting it.

My dad hates the clash, but my mom loves them. But yeah.

Here's a good present: write a deathcore song for him and perform it on christmas day.
Too much leather chair is unsightly and greatly increases your risk of leather-smell.

Lickle? Something to do with licking? Mate, keep that stuff in the bedroom...there are impressionable young people on this forum..

Seriously...I need to get something for my girlfriend, she is my secret santa thingy at our family get together. I hate christmas time when it comes to gifts because I am terribly unimaginative

Hahaa, nooo. I mean little, I just have a habit of saying lickle. I can't be the only person on the board who does it ? :S

And yeah I was thinking of getting him Lego Batman actually but it might be a little difficult for him as he's only just mastered Miniclip games :S :L

Would it be mean of me to say, "I'm trying to avoid the materialistic commercialisation of the holiday, let us remember the true meaning of Christmas .... in other words, I haven't got you anything"? Or, I could waste a load of money on presents that people won't actually remember five minutes later, but it's the thought that counts.

Buy some goats for poor people. Or school books for third world kids. For all your "You didn't really want more stuff did you?" needs.

you could be a douche and like donate the present or money to a shelter in their name. not saying that donating to a shelter is a bad thing (I donated 20 bucks for my uncle because he didn't want a present) but if they wanted material it would be funny, your parents wouldn't care much and would say you're either mature or an ass and if you did it for your little brother he'd probably cry lol.

I'm not buying for anyone under 20, most people I'm buying for would like the idea - I can only think of one who wouldn't. (Of course, even when your family and friends are at that "too old to be kids, too young to have kids" stage, there's always one with the epic Christmas list full of expensive crapola, and expects us mere mortals to buy the lot.)

I might do that, my dad bought a chicken last year and I'll probably do the same this year.
