MONGOLBORD SURFINGTURD

Hello and welcome to the first ever Mongoldbord Surfingturd newsletter. We have enclosed our current catalogue, along with the four new releases that we'll be putting out in the next few months.

First up is an extra special Mana Gunray Serpentine release - a limited repress of our recent tour vinyl disc. There's a song on there somewhere. Just keep dropping the needle on there till you find it.

Then following that we are proud to announce our twentieth release will be the latest album by our long-time friends, the Plastic Oblong Orkestry, their first for Mongolbord Surfingturd. This is a real stunner, all the dark Americana chamber compositions you'd expect, with a few new stings in the tail.

Following that, we'll be putting out the new nautically themed Lord High Empruss Celia the Fuckin' Lamp record Grapeshot. People have compared this band to Electric Miles Davis meets Sonic Youth. Look out for their forthcoming tour announcement to see if it swings by your neck of the woods - this is not a band you want to miss.

Finally we have the new split CDEP by hardcore legends Ever the Aghast and electronic dub trio Rodimus Prime, and yes, the rumours are true, this release does indeed contain the fabled Portable Swan Killer.

Anyway, that's the immediate news. Mana Gunray Serpentine are finishing up the new album Carnifex, hopefully that'll be ready in time for the next newsletter. Also, we'll be continuing the Plague Techtonics reissue series.

Until next time,
Quentin Uderick Iain Phong

Awesome, I like poo! This is a great label and the stuff going on here's a lot more exciting than most other places in the industry. I mean you don't get a song from a Spice Records artist called 'Portable Swan Killer' now do you?

As Ever the Aghast fans are no doubt aware, Portable Swan Killer has made sporadic appearances in the live set for nearly 10 years, so we're truly humbled to be putting out the only studio recording of the song, and we're happy to report it lives up to the hype.

I... I have a Persian blue copy and I've not found any other secret. I mean, I've heard rumors of all sorts of things. Like a phone number being read for about 10 seconds hidden somewhere on the vinyl that, when you call, asks for shipping information and you get a mystery box filled with raw meat or other things. Or a note-perfect cover of "Born to Run". Or a series of tones that have to be translated into a language, of which there are many theories for the correct one, that reveals a hidden message that may or may not lead to a secret show, free goodies or one-of-a-kind LP/EPs with unreleased music on them.

Knowing the group, there is probably a different secret on each copy and most of these theories are put out by the band or label to spread disinformation. Or all are true. Or none are true. Or there is no secret and this is all a game.

This is exactly why I love you guys. My favorite label to follow. Did I mention I have all of your releases and routinely show up to your shows dressed as a duck? Great stuff.
