No real order, but these are the albums I've enjoyed most in 09.

Brand New - Daisy

Conor Oberst - Outer South
Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything to Nothing
Jack's Mannequin - Dear Jack (EP)
The Maccabees - Wall of Arms
The Horrors - Primary Colours
Death Cab for Cutie - The Open Door

Kevin Devine - Brother's Blood
Bombay Bicycle Club - I Had the Blues, But I Shook Them Loose
Anarbor - Free Your Mind
Ace Enders - When I Hit The Ground
Pete Doherty - Grace/Wasteland

The occasional track off Alter The Ending by Dashboard, too, but the album in general was a let down.

I think two of my top 3 records from 2009 were EPs. The Planets of Old EP, the comeback by Cave In is number 1, utter fucking genius, Retina Sees Rewind is song of the year, no doubt about it in my mind. Number 2 would be Mastodon's Crack The Skye, stunning piece of music from a stunning band who just keep getting better. I cannot wait for February when I see them. Been about 3 years since I saw them last. And #3 is Dekadens EP by the Swedish depressive black metal band Lifelover.

I'd agree, I was a lot more sure in 2008. Making my list was hard to assign numbers to.

In no particular order:

Lady GaGa-The Fame Monster
KiD CuDi-Man on the Moon: The End of Day

Those are really the only albums I have actually sat down and listened to from 2009. I just didn't have the time to absorb a lot of music this year.
