Had a good time with my sister. I'm so stupid, I got my niece a toy that is for 3+ ages, and the she is 5 months. That was an epic fail. But other than that I had fun. Sung some Christmas songs and ate a lot!
I didn't get myself anything this year, but my sis got me a wireless microphone and a new piano, so I'm happy. :)
Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays :)

Is it selfish and nasty to already be looking forward to next Christmas? Yes? Okay well, I can fantasize about my birthday.
For my birthday I shall hope to be aquiring an keyboard, any suggestions? I want one where I can record the music I make on it and put it on my computer etc, I'm not afraid to spend the big bucks either, but the cheapest for best quality would be helpful :)

I'd help, but I only really venture into stage pianos =/ I play a bit of synth as well, but I'm not an expert. What do you want from it, voices-wise? If you're looking for the standard sort of things, pianos, brass, strings, synth pads etc I have no real experience... I personally have always found that unless you're spending a lot of money, they sound cheap, but a more expensive keyboard is a great investment. Any sort of keys instrument will improve your general musical skills, especially if you're planning on learning to read music on it. |

But yeah I guess I can say I can play.

I'm self taught, and my technique isn't exactly perfect :P |

But either way I can learn songs really quick.

If you're self taught, you almost certainly won't have the technique correct, which finger to use, pedals, touch etc. but a course sounds like a brilliant idea. |

I've been playing since I was 7, and I'm turning 14 in January, and I'm up one level for my age (not really that special if you see some other kids that play), and I am currently playing some heavy shit. Solfeggio by C. Bach (Sebastian's most successful son), Valse in A minor (forgot the opus no. since I'm not currently beside my piano books), I started Beethoven's 27th Opus 90 sonata (I remember that cuz 27x3=81, which is 9 less than 30x3, and 9 is 3x3 and, yeah, I have a strange mind. I play a few other small songs. |

I started playing piano when I was four. Taught by my dad, who is a professional musician. Didn't take long for me to give up playing though, about a year or so - typically for me, it's a co-ordination issue. (I can barely handle using a mouse, let alone get my clumsy hands to master the piano!) Anyway, good luck Steph, hope it turns out well for you. Edited by user 27 December 2009 12:44:43(UTC)

But yeah basically what you said are the main ones I want. There are some great ones at my school, they're the only good instruments in the music department. I already know the basics of playing the piano from lessons in music, but I'm far from saying I can actually play you a song. Still, I'd rather just play around with chords and simple stuff really because I love doing it in music and I can come up with really nice tunes, just problem is I don't have anyway of recording them so they're kinda lost in the sands of time :( |
