Fun night. Up to Captain's Rest. Watch my pals band, Bloodlunch. Then go back up to the bar and have a few. And now home and jolly, and have agreed to do something on Hogmanay for the first time ever. Terrifying. |

So now I'm standing up using the laptop on the side of my desk, currently on its side in the hallway, awaiting a plumber to fix the radiator valve sometime before 8.00PM (thanks for the super-specific timescale). In the meanwhilst we can't have the heating on for long, because the water just pours out of the valve in my room, so the house is cooooold. On the plus-side though, I did finally get round to moving the TV out of the room, so I can turn the desk into a slightly more usable area, particularly if I end up moving back here in a month's time... |

Oh fuck. Vic Chesnutt apparently killed himself on Christmas day with muscle relaxants, mired in debt from his ongoing medical problems and the American healthcare system. Farewell Vic. |

Jem Cohen: “The most important story to report now is not Vic’s death but a life and work overflowing with insight, humor, and yes, resilience. This, after all, was the man who wrote: “I thought I had a calling, anyway, I just kept dialing.” Sixteen extraordinary albums, five in the last couple of years; countless live shows so powerful and sublime they deeply altered the lives of those on the stage with Vic and those looking up, yes up, at him. The second most important story here has to do with a broken health care system depriving so many of the help they need to stay around and stay sane, and a society that never balks at providing more money for more wars but fights tooth and nail against decent care for its citizens. Vic’s death, just so you all know, did not come at the end of some cliché downward spiral. He was battling deep depression but also at the peak of his powers, and with the help of friends and family he was in the middle of a desperate search for help. The system failed to provide it. I miss him terribly. " |

I'm actually doing it with a friend named Steven and he's going to be Lady Gaga and I am going to be Beyonce. It's going to be epic. I'm going to use my military outfit, a Sailor outfit, and over the top ghetto outfit (baggy jeans, long chain). Steven will just use a sailor outfit.
