This will henceforth be our official page. We'll be sprucing it up now and again to make it more official. But first, we have some news.

We've just released a new disc as Enoch entitled The Heart of Reason. It is a three-track album that just tops 80 minutes, meaning that there will be some compression or, for a little extra price, it can come on two discs with none. And, of course, digital distribution.

These are three tracks from our recent collection Vault I: Portrait, but they were the three epics of that multi-disc collection, and so we felt that they deserved a little more than the average single release.

1. The Heart of Reason: I Am Weak / I Am Blind / My Worlds (16:20)
2. Monster on the Prowl: Overture / Bless the Light / On the Town / Killed! / Entombed in Hell / The Black Gate Keeper / Monster's Revenge / Monster's Recapitulation (27:40)
3. Divine Berth: The Stone / Do You Know the Lie? / Passage to Aldaria / Sorceror / The Stone (reprise) / Holy Mother / Halfway [instrumental] / Holy Mother (reprise) / Crosses (38:45)

We aren't religious by any sense, but a religious fan wrote in to us with this really heartfelt plea for us to become Christians. We haven't, but there was a certain earnestness to the message that moved us, even if we don't share his faith, so we crafted an epic around basically what he said and other little bits. It has been moved to a fantasy setting (Aldaria) in order to lessen the Christian overtones because, again, we are not religious, but it touched us. He is mentioned in the liner notes and has been given credit for lyrics.

In other news, Sudan is touring as support to the Black Gates for the entirety of the Constellation tour. Be sure to check out those shows for some surprises. They also have a new single out from their album Vapors I: From the Maw of Satan, Pt. 1 of 3, entitled The Red Room.

1. The Red Room (6:45)
2. Screaming for Release (8:41)
3. Tangled Up In Snakes (5:38)

A key reference point for these songs (and really all the songs off of the projected album) was a mixture of classic metal tunes and bands with a progressive touch. At times, that means referencing Testament; at others, like here, that means referencing Judas Priest. King Diamond and Mercyful Fate also became fairly common reference points. The process of whittling the songs down became an issue because they wanted to evoke a feeling without dropping the Sudan feel to things, which made it difficult. But now, you the listeners have that ability.

The Theosophical Society has just released their newest single from Solar Prayer entitled Undying Days.

1. The Celestial II: Solar Prayer VI - Undying Days (6:05)
2. The Celestial II: Solar Prayer VII - Dark Star (8:02)
3. The Celestial II: Solar Prayer VIII - The Ray (5:41)

We are still on a break from touring that group, but this is the penultimate release of the Mk. I Grand Society releases. One more single remains until the vaults are clear. Then, we shall release the Mk. II material.

Pharaohs has released their third single from Voodoo, entitled Murk and Mire.

1. Murk and Mire [instrumental] (7:20)
2. Wolfman [instrumental] (5:06)
3. Bogman [instrumental] (5:10)

This is their third single from album, with two more forth-coming before the release of their second boxed set, comprising their first three studio albums, entitled No Tomorrow, Evil, and, of course, Voodoo. This will be followed by the release of their fourth studio release, focusing on Indian sounds and textures following their flirting interest in Hinduism.

And that is it from the Theosophical Society for now! Enjoy.

Giorgio: Amazing work guys. Sudan/Enoch/Theosophical Society are one of my biggest influences when I write music for my own project. Amazing how you can write these epics and keep the music interesting, really a good job.
Transferium Project: Symphonic progressive melodic death metal
Carnage: Brutal old-school death metal
Ancient Legend: Progressive power/shred metal

OOC: Hover over any band, album, or single name. I embedded so many links in that son of a bitch, which is why it took so long.

We've just received some terrible news. Midnight/Mythic has shut its doors and, what with the recent bailing of most of the Art is Bullshit! label, the four active Theosophical projects have been left homeless. Luckily, the contracts we signed with each of the labels had the distribution and production rights revert back to us should something like this happen, so we are still in good stead. However, we are in need of a label.

There was a time when we ran our own (and we still insist on Theosophical Society Records numbering for albums so that collectors don't have to worry about juggling lots of numbers to catalog our releases), but what with our family lives and just the general flow of our careers at the moment, it simply isn't something that we can do. So what we are asking is this: A label willing to take on Enoch, Sudan, the Theosophical Society, the Grand Society and Pharaohs, including back catalogs.

This is a taxing agreement. There are about 20 albums or so between the five of them and a great deal are multiple discs. There are box sets on Pharaohs end that are somewhat high in discs. There's the production that they were given, which sometimes means costly printing and binding. We make no bones about the fact that covering us is expensive, but you get what you pay for; we routinely sell millions of copies and produce albums often.

Oh, and we're the most critically-acclaimed collective to never receive a single Birdie.

Here's to the future.

We have a couple things to run over!

First off, we were picked up by a label lickity-split. The label in question happens to be Shiny metal Ass Records, who have agreed to maintain production at the current levels, qualities and types, which was a very important element to making the agreement. So, that was a bit of great news for us. We'll let them give the full release for this. But know that we are very excited.

Secondly, we'd like to announce that next week will carry more releases from us, including The Vaults II from Enoch, Vapors II from Sudan featuring the next set of ten songs from The Maw of Satan, and The Sandman by the Grand Society. After sending emails to the other guys from the Grand Society and sort of putting it to a vote, we decided to not bill the three albums as "The Grand Society presents:" in order to differentiate Mk. II from Mk. I. Instead, they are just being released as the album name with no artist info. It makes a much more striking imagine, I think. Quite wonderful stuff. Personally, we think this is the strongest of the three releases but also the least cohesive as a Grand Society unit, as we wrote a great deal of the material before reforming the Grand Society. The other two, while marginally weaker by not having been in the cooker for years to our ears (the other GS members disagree), are definitely more cohesive with band dynamics.

The other news, in comparison, is slightly innocuous. We released four new singles to promote our albums. The one from Enoch was the lead-off single for The Vaults II, entitled Glass Eye, which contained the final disc of the collection. This method was popular on our last collection, so we employed it as an opener for this one, housing one normal-length song and two epics totalling about 60 minutes. The disc went straight to number 1 in the world and most territories, striking number 2 in all else save one. The lead off singles for Vapors II and The Sandman were less successful, but this was anticipated and, in fact, Glass Eye's success itself is more of a bizarre but wonderful quirk. The fourth single released by us last week was the final of the five singles promoting Pharaohs! 3 - Voodoo. In the next couple of weeks, a boxed set is going to come out featuring the first three studio albums by Pharaohs for those interested. This will be followed by the release of their fourth album.

And that's it from the Theosophical camp for the time being.

Just popping in to give everyone an update on the Theological front.

Just today, we finalized the release of the next singles from The Vault II and Vapors II which should be hitting stores quite soon. These are both the third singles of both albums, and they just feature older material; basically, they are radio promos with some older tracks as B-sides for someone who might not know us well and may want an intro disc. We only recommend them for collectors, but there is an iTunes and digital store discount for purchasing them in that format, so if you want to spend a couple bucks, you can get some songs. It's up to you, really.

Another bit of minor news is that the third single for The Sandman, the first of four releases by the Grand Society Mk. II, came out today. It features the next three parts and, like the two previous singles, is roughly an hour long. We did this because the main box with all three discs is just over three hours in length is quite expensive for a single album (roughly 40 bucks, or 20 pounds) and this allows people who aren't necessarily willing to pay that much all at once to get the music, without penalizing those are able or willing by letting them have all the music at once. However, for those who want only the single discs for economic reasons, fear not! The fourth single will have the last track of the album, but in addition it will have two epilogue tracks. The reasoning for this is as follows: For those who have read The Sandman before, you will know that the main story is in ten volumes. However, there are two additional volumes which merely add supplemental stories, like elements of the Silmarillion. These two extra volumes were also made into full songs by the Grand Society and they will be prominently featured as the final sections of this fourth disc. Unique material! A rarity from us, but there you go. And while it will eventually be on an album, that will not be for some time. Rest assured, however, that we do have a set date for its release; it's just several months from now.

Onto more major news, we would like to thank you for being so kind to our last albums from Enoch and Sudan. Sudan's went to number 3 worldwide and was top 10 in all but 1 region. Most of the regions, it was also in the top 5. Enoch's however, went to number 1 worldwide and in every region save two, where it hit the number 2 spot. It has been a long time since we have received this level of acclaim from everyone around the world and we would like you to know that we are very thankful and humbled by your devotion. We hope we will do well by you with our upcoming releases.

Pharaohs released their fourth album today, entitled Pharaohs! 4 - Om. Its lead single was also released, focusing on a trilogy of pieces on the album based on Brahma, Ganesh, and Siva, who are essentially the trinity of Hindu gods. The album focuses heavily on Indian religion, both Hinduism and Buddhism. It features use of sitars and more spacious sounds, as well as touching back on the early Theosophical Society records with highly ornate and flowery pieces with very complex structures. As a result, it is their longest studio album, coming in at just under 2 hours.

In touring news, Sudan has been on the road as the featured guest of the Black Gates on their tour in support of Constellations, their compilation album. They have been having an absolute blast and have really been enjoying meeting with their fans again after such a long hiatus. Daniel sent me an email this morning telling me to emphasize that they have not been writing any new material; they aren't quitting, but they want to really feel strongly about their new material before they put it down and, so far, nothing has sparked them. He offered no guarantee of when new material would come out, but did say that there were some things on his plate that had to get taken care of first. That would be the project that some lucky shows on the tour have seen as an encore, with Daniel, Rick, and others from Sudan and the Black Gates playing thrash metal tunes. They've been working on this together for a while and, sometime in the near future, they should be willing to unveil some original material. He wanted me to say, again, that the time table for that is not set in stone and it's very much a passion project between them and, should it come together as they intend, it will extend outside of thrash metal, but will be distinct from Sudan, the Black Gates, Sisyphean, and Tremors.

We've also been having quite a lot of fun on tour, doing short jaunts around the world with Pharaohs as an opener (as they are our second drummer, guitarist, and pianist playing together!), doing a week or two of shows around various regions in smaller venues. It allows us more flexibility than the full Theosophical rig, which requires somewhat large venues or large fields where we can get everything set up. As a result of the tour, Pharaohs has been producing reams of new material and we were able to finish the preparations on our next two compilation albums, after which will come some new material. We already have some riffs and melodies that we have been building off of and toying around with, and things look quite good! The album seems to be building itself into a classic prog rock sound, but modern touches keep seeping in. We would love to work with an outside producer on this one to get an outsiders opinion. Just an open offer; we'd be willing to send over our current working tapes and get some thoughts as well. (OOC: This is largely because I've noticed that, for whatever reason, there has been very little interaction with my groups from the RSG community. I can't exactly say I don't deserve that, as I have not done a great deal to interact with the rest of the community either. But all things begin with a step!).

And that is our Theosophical world at the moment. Good day to all of you.
