Mind had enjoyed the last few days very much. They had played at Cambridge Corn Exchange to build up a hype for the tour. It had come to the day where they had to pack their bags and get on the tour bus.
Aaron had already engaged in a talk with the roadies, whilst Harry and Robert had got on the bus and were impatiently waiting for the driver to go. Jason, however, was not so confident. In fact, he was feeling sick. Whether this was down to the pint of lager he necked down before he came here or the nerves of going away from home, he was reluctant to get on the tour bus. "Mate, we're waiting. Hurry up, f'fucks sake" Screamed Harry from across the parking lot. "We ain't got all day and we don't want to cancel another gig already." With this in mind (sorry), the guys got on the bus and set off to start their journeys.
1st stop: Nottingham. "Okay guys. This will take roughly 2 hours, so it's not so bad." Said the driver. Relieved at the news of this, Aaron splurted "Game of cards then?" and so began the furiously damaging game of texas hold 'em. Then, after claiming all of £5, Robert saw something wrong.
"Wait a sec... oh for christs sake, look at that fucking traffic jam." He said, while facepalimng quite epicly. This would take longer than they expected, so they broke out the "emergency" beers from the "emergency" fridge, since they remembered that the best inspiration comes from alchohol.
"Okay guys.. this o- this one is called... I love you guys.. this one is called Laki" Said Aaron and he started breaking out into a Alice-in-Chains esque guitar riff on his acoustic. Then Jason joined in. And then Harry. But Robert couldn't, because he couldn't fit the drums. "You know what... that one's pretty good. I'll try and get some words down to it... but not now, I feel shit." Replied Jason, happily.
Another hour later they were asleep. That is, except for Jason. He couldn't fall asleep, this was the biggest gig of his life! Although he had played what would be bigger crowds, this was the first gig on tour that involved him going from his safe, snug, cosy life back home. It was all work now. Then, it all came to a halt. They were here...
"Okay, unpack your bags lads, you're on in a couple of hours." |
